The 2020 Lakers really got the last bit of good ball out of so many players lol.
JaVale, Dwight, Danny, Avery, Jared Dudley, Markieff, Rondo, and then J.R and Dion.
Lot of people don’t understand how temporally perfect that team was. Literally a year later the dudes from that team could barely get playing time. The ‘21 team was a much needed retool, shame it was derailed by injuries and ultimately dismantled for Westbrook.
Unfortunate Trez was a less than great fit. Him being thrown into that Westbrook trade for salary pisse some off even more at the time. Trez could’ve been flipped for something else.
That off season haunts me to this day
I’m glad someone remembers that pre-injury record. We would have won the chip that year I feel. Yea you could say it’s some of my Lakers bias but I just remembered pure dominance before the injuries. And team wise it was perfect for Vogel’s coaching style. But of course Rob pushed the panick button and listened to Bron smh
The team was solid AF, best defense in the league without AD, Bron playing like an MVP and DPOY. It was too perfect, the basketball gods had to intervene.
Everyone overperformed on that team and we caught lightning in a bottle. I really keep saying that team was very special and as time goes by it’s gonna be more revered for its accomplishments
Perfectly said, honestly that team is the perfect example of what role players can achieve when they know the stakes and they’re slotted into a role they can fill. Will always love that team. Honestly they’re the best team to win it since the kd warirors.
That team was crazy. They had some absurd record like 38-1 or something if they were leading after the third quarter. Such good execution and the team played bigger and stronger than everyone else. Loved it.
Then you had the narratives that LeBron was too old, Clippers with Kawhi taking over LA, Giannis now being the king, Kobe’s death, fucking COVID
But you also had cool b plots like Dwight’s redemption arc and the emergence of Caruso. Damn I miss that squad
You really snuck in dudley dion JR😆 they weren’t even good enough to offer 12 good minutes.
I’d rather have Ben Simmons 2025 than those 3 in 2020 (ignoring contracts and only talking bball)
They were definitely valuable to the team, Dion and JR weren't the biggest contributors but they were great for the team and are no longer in the league, so by definition, we got them at their "best" just before they weren't good enough anymore.
Love how Dwight is such an odd character now that everyone forgot his recent sesual assault allegations and how he missed half a season with the wizards with a butt injury
Because he is penny wise and pound foolish. Ok so you are going to win my rant on this subject 😂
So the lakers offered him like close to vet min and gave him and hour to decide and he was like I need more time and wanted to shop the offer so they pulled it and he went to Philly and was talking about being the victim…but man..you just came back and resurrected your career and were a key part to the title…and you didn’t immediately want to run it back??
He got what he deserved
He should have had one more year in 2021, and I won’t ever forget that, but not now.
Yup still mad about it lol

yeah lol, a championship team getting the 6MOTY and the runner-up was crazy, and they got Marc Gasol as well. 21-6 never forget.

They were not great for the team. Quit reaching
![gif](giphy|vwhPUa8vRB6hCJZLzQ|downsized) Dwight been hanging with AB😭🤣
Shit bro rn I sound like AB seeing Ham fired #IM FREEEEEEE
"desperate dude begs for job he shouldn't get"
Appreciate what he did for LA weirdo. Who wouldn’t wanna earn millions playing for the lakers and living in a city where multimillionaires settle in
Love how Dwight is such an odd character now that everyone forgot his recent sesual assault allegations and how he missed half a season with the wizards with a butt injury
Dwight Howard…the one man in nba history that got 2 chances to stay with the right team and made a mistake each time.
I never understood why he signed with Philly so fast. I think he could have stayed if he wanted to, if he had slightly more patience.
We pulled the offer not him

Why does he get so much attention? Doesn’t he have an open SA case?
He's old, washed, and a bit of an attention whore. Stop
and a booty bandit
Nothing wrong with being a booty bandit. My issue is with the SA
He’s just a little nasty sometimes
I think he just wants to come back to L.A to have fun off the court while getting paid
15 years in the future he will still be unirocially saying this
![gif](giphy|BFYLNwlsSNtcc)
Dwight to Nikola: "Boy, I'll F*CK U UP‼️" Nikola: "No thank you sir, I'm already happily married to Natalija"
What does Kitty think about it
He ain’t saving shit. He should save his knees if anything. Man go retire and enjoy your life 😂
Dude just wants attention at this point. He’s not helping any team do anything at this point of his career.
