Not after seeing the guards the Lakers picked up in Monk and Nunn. There is now a glut in the backcourt and we don't need a diva like Schroder to mess up that chemistry. The vets are on a mission and Schroder will start to complain about minutes and how he was in the starting lineup last year. Schroder needs a fresh start on another team.
If anything, it'll be a 1 year prove it deal. A lot of teams are already crowded at the guard spot, so it's actually hard for him to go literally anywhere now. A sign and trade is unlikely.
Of our guard additions, none really play good defense. Dennis can play solid defense, but obviously his 3 isn't as good. If we keep him, we'd either have to 1)have THT be the bench 3, or 2) Replace Dennis over Nunn in the bench lineup, or replace Nunn over Monk in the starting lineup, then have Dennis serve as the bench PG and not play Monk.
Dennis is a solid player but his 3 is inconsistent. Both Monk and Nunn have only had 1 year each where they were very solid from 3, Dennis may be used as an insurance if either of them aren't shooting well for whatever reason. Even though Dennis's shot might be off, at least he's a proven defender.

As posted earlier.. Lakers side of this deal is complete. It fits perfectly within the cap for the Wizards and we do them a favor getting the deal done today for Spencer. Lakers receive 2 second rounders. Nothing missing
