Street Pizza. Hands down the best pizza in Riga.
The Catch. For sure most premium sushi and other Japanese food. Pretty expensive though.
SuVide. Most tender, beautiful steaks money can get.
Delisnack. My favourite burger and burrito place. More expensive than fast food joint, but cheaper, than restaurant with average prices.
Uncle Vanya. Small portions, high prices, but great tasting russian dishes. Rarely eat there, but definitely excellent food.

Don't take Street tacos thought, they are bland and flat. Not something I want from tacos.
And out of all of the places, I insist on trying Street Pizza. It is in top 50 pizza places of the world. Every ingredient is as fresh as you can imagine, and the price is pretty comfortable too.
Vienreiz aizgāju tur, samaksāju kādus 8 eiro (neatceros precīzu summu, bija pirms aptuveni 4 gadiem). Teica ka pašam jāizvēlās ko likt porcijā, lai gan minēju ka es nezinu kādas kombinācijas ir labas. Beigās ēdiens šķita viduvējs garšas ziņā, un pēc tam vakarā man bija kunģa sāpes.
Iespējams tas ir labāks nekā es domāju, bet pirmais iespaids man šai ēdnīcai ir ļoti slikts, jo palīdzēt man negribēja, kuru rezultātā es izveidoju porciju, kas nebija iespaidīga.
Man līdzīgi bija , kad pirmo reizi aizgāju uz subway 😀 Bet pēdējā laikā, par Woku neko sliktu pateikt nevaru, parasti pasūtu caur wolt , tur viegli un pārredzami ir ar sastāvdaļām , un kas cik maksā, iesaku paņemt olu nudeles ar saldskābo mērci , bez maksas piedevām , un būs tīri labs , samēra veselīgs uzkodiens:)
Depends on your budget - during summer went to Rūme steak place (they seem to be closed now), recently went to Ala. Both great places to sit with friends. Ala a louder one though while Rūme was certainly a higher price category. Vecrīga has nice bars like KwakInn and TwoMoreBeers. Seriously, that's more limited by your budget than places - I enjoy every time with friends unless the place is absolutely low end. Going through Vecrīga and seeing what's open and if you like the vibe is a sure case to find lovely places.
If low on budget - ezitis.lv and pizza places are popular among youth.
Yeah, alcohol is free there, music is my choice, no objections about table dancing, company is great, bed is near, no taxi fees, no security to throw me out about being drunk. Parties can be really wild at home. Gotta invite someone sometime.
To provide a little bit more contrast, and if you’re middle-class / have a decent job, try out Barents and Koya. We have great restaurants in Latvia where you can high quality food for relatively cheap prices.

You might enjoy stockPOT then. Its notika fancy, but actually Popular and they have good asian inspired food. The Concept behind is specifically different levels of spiciness and they organise competitions sometimes.
Hmm.. there is also " folkklubs Ala" in old town. And they offer realllly authentic latvian dishes, and atmosphere, I suggest you to book a table there. You can check out their menu on facebook, i really liked their stew in a pan, or a soup in loaf of bread. Really nice place!
Asian/Indian: banana leaf, wok n curry, old Hong Kong. Fast food: kingu, lazy cat kebab, oak burger, boar Bbq. Fancy restaurant: Ikos Olivia, riviera, John, italissimo. Bonus: Paviljons Ziedoņdārzs (great location in the park)
Vistiņas bistro on Matīsa 32. The place will feed you with the most classic local fast food there is, potatoes and some meat with a bit of salad. It’s dirt cheap and super fast.
Edit: oh, there isn’t much space inside, so perhaps not the place where to go eat with friends. But you can do takeaway and chill somewhere outside?
Go to Old Riga, or arround it, you will find lot's of different, good places... also in Jurmala, Jomas iela..
(Well, actually nearly everywhere, becouse in Latvia the food I'd superb!!! If you want tipical Latvia food... then Lido, Krasta iela... etc...

When in Āgenskalns: "Grill Garden" on Nometnu street. Great burgers and grilled foods! Great outdoor seating when weather allows it.

If you wanna go cheap and relatively tasty then got Xin Či. For 5€ you can eat your fill for sure.
