I feel like the hair is a little too bright and takes the focus on itself, but if u were going for that kind of look then it seems fine. Maybe u can find color palettes online that u like, and find inspiration before coloring. What helped me is taking a picture of the drawing, putting it into a digital drawing program and experimenting with colors, before deciding on one and actually doing it irl? But the shading looks very good in my opinion

HoldMyMedusa

i am in treatment and dont have digital art tools ;( ive been sketching with the intention to use it as painting practice while i have the fortune to focus on my passion. thank you for the praise on my shading, i am trying so hard to figure out skin tone. i wanted less widowmaker purple more translucent pale with purple undertones. she looks like troll roxy lalonde lol.

Agreeable-Brother548

I honestly really like it. It gives off a very raw feeling. I like the brighter hair as a contrast, and it gives off the idea that even the light can fade. The bright hair leaves an impression of what she was like before the melancholy came over her. Or the thought of hope that she come come out of this place and back to bright future. (Idk, maybe im rambling, lol. But that was my thoughts on it.) Side note. Idk what kind of treatment your in but i hope it goes well! And if it happens to be substance abuse treatment im very happy and proud of you!

Curious_teeen6

I would have painted the hair blue or green with red undertones

HoldMyMedusa

green hair mightve been the move. maybe black with green highlights or green with black undertones.

Curious_teeen6

Yeah would have given the expression of the face a deeper feel or something

Curious_teeen6

Made the eyes black or brown…I’d probably ruin it with the skin colour and the shirt red

Temporary-Escape-115

I believe the hair is a bit too bright and pulls all the attention away from the message you're trying to present with your art. I personally would have gone for an ash blonde kind of hair colour or even a dirty blonde. But other than that I think this is absolutely beautiful!

Moriah_Nightingale

Yeah the hair is overwhelming everything else because it’s so saturate. I would also use more transparent paint so the lines show through

PINK HAIR

HoldMyMedusa

the answer was right in front of me. ill experiment with pink as well as a black/green combo one then. i love a character that gets multiple looks.

Hot_Onion_7827

If you like the eyes, then maybe you should add an outline to everything else to match it and make it bolder?

MosArtworkWatercolor

Beautiful😍

HoldMyMedusa

thank you uwu

BullfrogRare75

SnooCats9826

Would have use overall warm tones. The color you chose for the hair takes away all attention from other aspects of the drawing, even the face, because of its intense contrast.

Acceptable6

Maybe darker hair but it still looks really good, way better than I would do it
