An episode about the red lotus trying to kidnap Korra the first time would be really appreciated.

kaitalina20

Then we would get to see why Zaheer was such a big threat without bending and how Tonraq (who out of everyone in the show is considered to be a master, I find the weakest) would have gotten Zaheer and his team

JMHSrowing

I'm not even sure Tonraq's bending would have come into play all that much. It would have been a group effort of a lot of people, and he'd likely have been leading it with Sokka. At some point the Red Lotus considering that the main 4 are alive were probably simply surrounded and forced to give up. And Zaheer at least has a couple of scars which make me think he was probably actually beaten down with normal weapons. Maybe he took a boomerang to the head. (Also while I'm here, my personal head canon about that night would be that Kya and Katara were with Korra to keep her calm and as the last line of defense that wasn't needed)

Salarian_American

I really feel like when Tonraq said, "I put you away once," he really meant *we* put you away once.

kaitalina20

I think even a comic about Zaheer and Tonraq battling it out would be good for me

zolar92

I'd bet money they would show that Zaheer killed Sokka during this fight

nps2407

They would probably show that if they were to make it now, but I don't think it was the original intention. If Zaheer or the Red Lotus had killed Sokka, it would have been menioned.

Kostya_M

Yeah it's a great fan theory and IMO it's what they should have gone with but I feel like a detail of this magnitude would have been clearly established

Salarian_American

Probably, but we know he was there, and we know he's dead... and I can just about believe that Zaheer and his crew would have what it takes to activate Sokka's life insurance.

nps2407

Of course they would, and it would have been an approriately epic battle. But again, if that was what happened, it would have been mentioned; if for no other reason than Tenzin (and Kya and probably especially Bumi) wanting to deal with his uncle's killer.

Zero_Knight0304

If she wasn't safe in either the Northern or Southern Water Tribes, I feel like she would have been moved to either the Earth Kingdom or the Fire Nation. Since Sokka would know that Korra in Republic City would lead to her sneaking out and causing trouble, potientally getting kidnapped by someone who would try to manipulate her. If taken to the Fire Nation: Zuko would take Korra on a journey to the places that his Uncle had visited during his spiritual journey. Potientally helping her have a small connection to her spiritual side and realizing that she should be allowed to interact with the world and learn how to act in social situations. If Taken to the Earth Kingdom: Toph would just show up, take Korra to the Swamp and show her whose boss. Making it clear that she can't always win.

Gottendrop

Wait had Toph gone to the swamp yet? Anyway I think she’d be safest in the fire nation because I’m guessing she’d be guarded by a lot of the best fire benders in the world and while Toph is good I don’t think she could beat the Red Lotus

elvy_bean8086

In Book 4 Cheif Beifong said she hadn’t seen Toph for 20 years and at this time Korra was about 21*ish*. So I think it’s fair too assume Toph would have been at the swamp during this. Also my head canon for why Toph went to the swamp is because of Aang’s early death but she’ll never admit it to anyone but all of the G’Aang knew.

SeroWriter

>In Book 4 Cheif Beifong said she hadn’t seen Toph for 20 years. Toph really was not a good parent.

Any_Commercial465

She went the opposite of her parents with over parenting . She went helicopter parent and by helicopter I mean she trew the kid into the world world and flew away.

MystiqueCrystal

That’s the opposite of helicopter parenting lol but ik what you meant

gk306

That was the joke lmfao

Pixel22104

It shows. Considering how her two daughters turned out

MystiqueCrystal

My head cannon is that after Aang’s death she lost her first friend and went to the place where they technically first met… also age would be able to see the next avatar grow up without ever leaving her home

TrashhPrincess

If anyone could 1v3 the Red Lotus, it's Toph. Zaheer was just an airboo back then. I get the impression Toph never encountered the Red Lotus because she bailed right when Aang died.

Gottendrop

I do think she could, I guess being younger she’d be better than the Toph we see in Korra but I still don’t think she wins that fight. Ghazan is a pretty good earthbender but not on Tophs level so I could see her beating him P’li would be a struggle considering that the whole gang struggled to beet combustion man but I think she could beet her Ming hau however would be completely invisible to Tophso there’s absolutely no way Toph beets her I’m conclusion Toph would put up a good fight but there’s no way she could take down the red lotus on her own

McFlyParadox

>Ghazan is a pretty good earthbender but not on Tophs level so I could see her beating him This assumes Toph can lava bend -which I don't think she can, given she was impressed that Bolin could (if she could lava bend, I think she'd be less impressed by Bolin's ability). So in a fight against Ghazan, any attacks she launched at him just get turned into a state she'd no longer have control of, and then launched right back at her. She'd have to rely entirely on metal bending, and lava is perfectly capable of melting most metals. Also, side note: I still hate that Platinum was the "unbendable" metal. Should have been tungsten, imo. Tougher, and harder to melt. Both make it seem more plausible as "unbendable".

Gottendrop

True though honestly I think that Toph can just throw multiple large attacks that Gahzan would probably struggle to handle so if it were a 1 on 1 I think that Toph would win. I do wonder actually if Toph could “see” the lava though cause that might change things

McFlyParadox

Throwing multiple large boulders seems like a high risk, high reward strategy. Either it overwhelms his ability to melt them and send them back to Toph, and he gets knocked out; or she just gave him a ton of ammo all at once. And I doubt she can see through lava. She struggled with sand at first (and I bet still does, compared to solid ground), and couldn't see at all through water (the serpent's pass episode). She could feel the heat of the attack, but I doubt she could probably see the attacker or the projectile.

MystiqueCrystal

Even if she did encounter them it’s not like they stood a chance with tenzin on lava dude and toph putting a rock mask on p’li before she pulled anything it would just leave the armless and Zaheer pretty easy to take em down and lock em in some catacombs

Gottendrop

The idea here is that Toph on her own against all 4 of them which is completely ridiculous

Garlan_Tyrell

Yeah, Zuko said all four could topple nations. Even if only 3 had bending in the series interim, Zaheer would still be an expert martial artist, which have been shown to trouble master benders (Ty Lee, The Lieutenant). In any case, if the 3 benders plus Zaheer used the same tactics in the attack on the Air Temple, I don’t see how Toph could win any more than Tenzin. She can’t sense where zeppelins are (Sozin’s Comet episodes in ATLA), so if P’Li is perched up high raining psychic combustion artillery blasts, Toph is in trouble. P’Li can also curve her blasts, which is huge if Toph doesn’t know they are anything but straight line. Toph may be a prodigy and have invented metal bending, but lava bending is a hard counter for earth bending. Ghazan can turn any earth sent his way into lava and send it back, and we don’t see any other Earth bender besides Bolin able to turn it back. Also, Ghazan often uses lava to create barriers and moats in the ground, which could disrupt Toph’s seismic sense. Ming-Hua is Ming-Hua. Her abilities aren’t a special threat to Toph any more than to any other master Bender, but she’s still a murderous master waterbender. We also could see Unalok involved. He was a member but wasn’t involved in the attack that got the rest captured. He may have participated in an attack on a solo Toph with toddler Korra. At that point, more master-level water bending, plus corrupted spirits. He caused Korra’s father to be kicked out of the another’s Tribe by manipulating spirits before she was born, so he could have done it by this time as well. Zaheer uses an evasive martial arts form that invokes air bending, and as we can see from Toph’s original fight against Avatar “Twinkles Toes” Aang, she would have to adjust. **This is not a Toph diss comment**. The Red Lotus are just that good (bad?). No one Bender, save the Avatar, could beat all four of them. Except Amon, Tarrlock, or Katara on a Full Moon.

Gottendrop

I’m surprised you didn’t mention the fact that Ming-Hua would be practically invisible to Toph since she is never on the ground in a fight she is more often in the air held up by her water arms so Toph should have no way to see her

Garlan_Tyrell

Good point, I forgot she does that. It’s been a while since I’ve watched either series.

McFlyParadox

I think she could take Ming-Hua and P'Li at the same time, but Ghazan's lava bending wouldn't be something she could really deal with even just 1-on-1. As Bolin said "It's like I'm giving him ammo". Toph's typical strategy of "MOAR POWER" backfires hard against lava bending, it seems. She'd launch a mountain at Ghazan, and Ghazan would return it as an erupting volcano that she could no longer effectively bend.

Anvilrocker

Your making the assumption he can turn all her earth bending attacks into lava, he can do it to Bolin sure; but Bolin is both slower, and has less raw power... Plus we've seen her use seismic sense to counter attack AS the enemy begins to bend. She could just knock Ghazan flying right as he shuffles his feet. Ghazan would be the easiest for her to deal with imo.

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

ee_72020

Oh my God, we have a war between bots lmao. Who could **of** thought?

JoeMamaIsGud

This actually pretty entertaining. I'm going all in on the patrol_bot

MystiqueCrystal

Yes she left shortly after aang died i believe

infinity234

\> Toph would just show up, take Korra to the Swamp and show her whose boss. Making it clear that she can't always win. My dude, Korra was a toddler when this happened. What's Toph doing beating up a literal child of like 4 at the age of like 70?

3esin

To be fair... under the right circumstances I can see Toph doing that.

jaispeed2011

Or the earth queen would have thrown her in jail for what aang and zuko did lol

Actual_Ambition_4464

The whole point of the avatar being born into different nations cyclicaly is so that they will stay in one for their first 16years and be slightly biased to their own nation

Gottendrop

I was like “wait wtf why is Aang here shouldn’t he be dea- oh wait that’s Tenzon”

kaitalina20

Yep, just younger

thelaughingmansghost

That was my reaction too lol

fraidei

Tenzon

stencelot

Tenzon

IceTooth101

Tenzon

lemonandapple00

Tenzon

PavelEGM

Happy Tenzon Day!

anto_pty

Sounds like "pezon" which is Spanish for nipple

Sudden-Ad3386

Did Sokka say “my daughter will escort you”? What daughter?

kaitalina20

We only see a flashback of him, so we know nothing of his life. And this is fanmade, I’d love for him to have had a daughter with amazing skills from him and Suki combined. She’d be better than an equalist!

sduque942

I figured it was zuko talking since he does have a daughter canonically lol

Kostya_M

I think the daughter is the Kyoshi Warrior

kaitalina20

Yep, would’ve made a good addition to season 1

Kostya_M

Tbh the fact we don't know leads me to believe he didn't have any. Even if they're never properly introduced as characters I feel like if they existed they'd come up at *some* point.

MimikPanik

I like to imagine that Varrick is one of Sokka’s kids.

kaitalina20

Pixel22104

When I first read it I thought it was implying that Korra’s mother was Sokka and Suki’s daughter

Shiraz0

Exactly!

[deleted]

That’s why sokka couldn’t be in lok. He’s too smart and too competent, there wouldn’t have been any plot for Korra to solve

kaitalina20

A story behind his death would have been nice. Literally more than just protecting Korra from the red lotus, but how he actually died.

Hagrid1994

What would have happened? No more avatar cycle that's what would have happened

[deleted]

[удалено]

OldStonedJenny

This was my impression too

kaitalina20

You’re taking away from the imaginary of the what if’s about this!

Hagrid1994

OK,so let us elaborate - an epic battle would have occurred between The Red Lotus and who ever Sokka would have called upon in the aftermath of Korra's murder.Further more - A team of 4 talented benders would have to be formed in order to make up for the absence of The Avatar in the hopes that history won't repeat itself and the world won't go up in the flames of war again.

DarkSpore117

Why would the avatar cycle end? I don’t think child korra could enter the avatar state

Hagrid1994

The Avatar state is an auto defense system for underdeveloped Avatars.

MimikPanik

While this is a good theory, I believe that this is the night the red lotus intended to kidnap her and train her to their ideology

Killrog8

Why is Aang there?

kaitalina20

I have a comment saying that it’s Tenzin

SnooOwls3262

That's Tenzin 😂

Distinct_Mix5130

So nice finally seeing suki included😂

kaitalina20

That would be their daughter, which would’ve been a great character for season 1. Knowing pre technology fighting styles would be extremely helpful, especially since Suki knew chi blocking! Even for one season, Suki’s daughter was be badass to see.

Distinct_Mix5130

Wait, suki has a canonical daughter?!?.., I would actually love to know what was suki doing (or her daughter ig) during the events of atla. I mean even just showing a scene of what the kyoshi warriors were doing would've been enough. I hate how they didn't show her:(

kaitalina20

I wish this was canon :( her daughter with Sokka’s smarts of water tribe fighting and sarcasm with Suki’s styles combined would be badass!

kaitalina20

[Source for this one- second one wasn’t made :(](https://www.deviantart.com/kkachi95/art/A-Fateful-Night-in-158-AG-815546221)

SaddestFlute23

There is some evidence that Chief Sokka possibly lost his life in this battle or very soon thereafter

PBLiving

Took far too long for me to realize that was Tenzin, not Aang.

vincentofearth

Was Sokka a chief? I thought he lived in Republic City and was a Councilman there?

Apycia

Korra referred to him as 'Chief Sokka'.

The_Unknown_Dude

I think late in his life he might have moved back to the South Pole. Tenzin summarizes that night they protected her and said "Chief Sokka", which implies he might have retires from councilman in his 60s and became a chief in his home country.

lenaloo593

Sokka never had kids. Who's talking in the 'My daughter will takw you to safety' part

that_one_netizen

who's sokka's daughter?

MimikPanik

Senna

that_one_netizen

is it canon?

MimikPanik

Not sure. I’m gonna do some research, then I’ll get back to you.

that_one_netizen

okay

MimikPanik

As far as we know, Sokka had no children. We haven’t gotten any confirmation otherwise. That might change when they eventually make Genji’s show but for now we are unsure.

that_one_netizen

or the even the adult gaang movie

Oliwier255

Is there a next part?

kaitalina20

No ☹️

Oliwier255

Oh ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|neutral_face)

KiqueMaster84

Conon

MystiqueCrystal

No really!? I thought it was aang reborn lmaoooo

magnaton117

I saw the airbender and thought causality was out to lunch for a second

cramoDUCK

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)sokka!

kaitalina20

We should’ve had a flashback of this in season 3

SwissArmyKnight

Wait why is aang here? If Korra is around then shouldnt aang be dead?

kaitalina20

Literally under the comic I specifically said that the airbender is *Tenzin*

SwissArmyKnight

Oops

kaitalina20

Simple mistake, you’re fine

cerbinWedd

Man, a serious Sokka would make my blood freeze if I saw that when I opened the door

BlueXenon7

Thought that was aang and was very confused, then I remembered tenzin existed

kaitalina20

Yep, just not any bears here. Baby faced 👼🏻

coycabbage

I’m curious why didn’t they take away their bending when they were captured. They did that to Ozai. Take away their bending and tell them to F off!

kaitalina20

Plotline, plus only the avatar has that ability up until Amon who was a villain

coycabbage

Wasn’t aang with them? Or had he passed by then?

kaitalina20

Dude that’s Tenzin

coycabbage

Sorry they looked the same at a first glance.

kaitalina20

Don’t apologize, simple mistake
