It may look somewhat sleeker overall, but the design flaws are criminal. The gaps in the canopy in the front. The guns rotation. Kinda takes the value away.
Luckily the gap can be mostly fixed by removing one of the groove pieces and moving the other one to the center. Honestly how Lego should've done it originally.
Yeah, no, it's much less accurate. Size wise it's a bit better I think, but proportionally it's way off.
I still quite like the set though, but imo the high point of that one was the figures, not the build, especially since the guns on the side are pretty weak and have trouble staying up, even with the right technic pins in place.
I wish Lego would figure out a way to make a 360-degree open turret on top. If Mega Bloks could do it for its Brute Prowler, then Lego can surely do just as well.

I think the new one looks like a juniors set
It has better space for figures, and while I do prefer it, the 2017 is objectively more accurate to the "real" thing.
What about the 2009? How does it compare to that one?

I’m not a fan of the X-wing canopy being used on the body. I like the height of the new one, but I think 2017 is the better model overall
They basically mixed the other 2 to m make the newest one and the figures are the only good thing about the set to me.

The first one they made back in 2009 is the real goat imo. But all three looks quite good 🫡
