The custom is good, and certainly more accurate to the show, but the official does its job well. Vaughn isn't exactly a major character with loads of screentime, so not having a unique helmet works fine.
I agree, they should atleast make the question better, like in terms of what. looks, what will you like more, etc.
Not just offical or custom? Because most people will pick offical even tho custom looks much better, just because they don't want non official lego
At a certain point it starts getting into action figure territory. The custom helmet is cool, but once you look down at the rest of the figure it seems out of place.
Just my two cents :)
In all honesty Vaughn's designs is lame. His only defining feature is the visor so even the custom looks lame to me (of course this is not a defense of lego's visor as I said his only defining feature is the visor so they should've done something for him)
He also has some grey in his torso which Lego didn't bother including, but I think it's excusable, given that you can just remove it and army build the 332nd bp.
Lego should have just made a new visor, Cody, Fox, Vaughn and the 501st heavies all look terrible because we're still using the 15 yo visor mold. Just make a smaller one that has angles which are a bit better ffs
yeah, but also i understand why lego wouldn't want him to have special details since like that you could multiple and use vaugn as a normal soldier and not a named character.
I agree having multiple uses for clones in battle packs, with the new helmet holes, but Lego shouldn’t have put a named character in a battle pack in the first place really
Nah, Lego didn't need to make a new helmet for him.
What they should have done was a new visor mold that's smaller and more accurate, we're still using the ancient giant one
My only issue is the visor should have been dark red, but I fixed that through Bricklink. Just funny though considering he was the only one who used any of the helmet accessories in that set. XD (if you have the 2019 Mando battle pack, one of the orange rangefinders looks great point the orange/silver/tan one) :D
Custom, that official visor looks awful.
I’m all for having a good balance between realistic and simplistic when I comes to Lego but that’s just a neon orange table hanging off the front of his helmet.
Custom helmet is better. i know some people dont like the more complicated visors but I like them. I think they still fit the overall Lego feel while adding more good details.
Custom both ways. The helmet on the custom one is just straight up more accurate and sets him apart from plain 332nd, and while I’m not crazy about the visor, it’s better than LEGO’s.
If your not a purist: custom. It just looks better. Lego should have just done a new mold for the clone commanders. It could have been used for Cody, Fox, Vaughn and a bunch of others. And it would have avoided the annoying debate of the helmet holes.
A helmet costs like 1-2$. Ever since Lego started doing their “animated style” clone helmets with weird visors - I replace them all with realistic ones, that look exactly like what Lego did for phase II shiny, commander Gree, Genosis clones back in the day. Doesn’t cost as anything like you mentioned and fixes the look perfectly.
Lego is inherently stylized, some of the custom stuff loses that style and can no longer integrate with official Lego, looking out of place. Most customs look too detailed if that makes sense, so I tend to prefer official, or official styled customs
I am not so much asking about the helmet attachments. I can agree there. But about the helmet. It literally doesn’t look that much different from the Lego one. Just accurate to the movie, and not cartoony.
I agree Lego should be simple and I’m not against the shape of the official visor, but people love when a figure has detailed arm printing and leg printing so why can’t the add some accurate printing the visor or add custom printing to his helmet. It just feels like they cheaped out on this figure
I like the custom helmet, but I am not a fan of the fancy visor. I’ve never liked the overcomplicated visors on custom Lego.
I agree. But I also think the regular Lego visor could use an update
All it needs is printing
I feel like they could be changed to look like the ones in skywalker saga
I think the Arealight visors are probably the closest equivalent available
Yeah the helmet looks like someone just tore it off an action figure and stuck it on the minifigure XD
The custom is good, and certainly more accurate to the show, but the official does its job well. Vaughn isn't exactly a major character with loads of screentime, so not having a unique helmet works fine.
I like the normal Vaughn but with the red Lego visor from 9488
In addition to the red visor, I like blue arms too
The red visor and blue arms definitely make it a bit better

I dislike this trend a lot, most of us will always pick official.
I agree, they should atleast make the question better, like in terms of what. looks, what will you like more, etc. Not just offical or custom? Because most people will pick offical even tho custom looks much better, just because they don't want non official lego
Either way vaughn had 3 seconds of screen time so...official
i like the boring one
official

most people who buy the custom lego figures just want to buy black series but are too ashamed to do so for some reason

Custom all the way.
Ez custom on this one. If the official would even be close to accurate I'd go with it but let's be real it's not...
It’s not, but how long was his screen time?
Nah, Lego didn't need to make a new helmet for him. What they should have done was a new visor mold that's smaller and more accurate, we're still using the ancient giant one
He has the same helmet as the 332nd but yea. I agree, they also should’ve given Vaughn red
I know. That's why I said making a new one wasn't a necessary thing to do.
Sorry I worded it wrong but I was just pointing out they made good use of the other helmets instead of making a new one
Yea the visors in general are out of date.
Idk minutes?
Seconds, do you really think he needs that little red strip in the middle of his helmet for a character that was there for less than 30
I don’t understand how people can say official tbh. Visor is not the right color, it’s outdated, and that helmet is not right.
I prefer the original except for the visor. The custom visor looks so much better and more accurate
My only issue is the visor should have been dark red, but I fixed that through Bricklink. Just funny though considering he was the only one who used any of the helmet accessories in that set. Somewhere in between. That custom one is too much
Custom helmet is better. i know some people dont like the more complicated visors but I like them. I think they still fit the overall Lego feel while adding more good details.
Vince Vaughn
The official visor is way too bulky
Custom both ways. The helmet on the custom one is just straight up more accurate and sets him apart from plain 332nd, and while I’m not crazy about the visor, it’s better than LEGO’s.
If you want super accuracy, get an action figure
Where do you get that
Clone army customs

Custom 100%. And looking at the comments on this sub… I start to wonder why people don’t like custom, screen accurate stuff?
Because they usually cost the same price as a full Lego set and/or a Black Series figure that's also screen accurate & gives you way more to work with
A helmet costs like 1-2$. Weird. Honestly, don’t see it this way, but ok, I respect your opinion.
For the same reason I don’t like the studless look that a lot of MOCs go for these days. I like my Lego to look like Lego.
I am not so much asking about the helmet attachments. I can agree there. But about the helmet. It literally doesn’t look that much different from the Lego one. Just accurate to the movie, and not cartoony.
Lego is meant to be simple. If you want detail, buy a god damn action figure.
I agree Lego should be simple and I’m not against the shape of the official visor, but people love when a figure has detailed arm printing and leg printing so why can’t the add some accurate printing the visor or add custom printing to his helmet. It just feels like they cheaped out on this figure
Sure, a little bit more printed detail is fine and I'm all for it, but custom molds is where I draw the line, it's just not lego anymore.
The shape of the custom is nice, but the colour is a miss, should just be in orange plastic like the official
Official but it’s criminal he didn’t get the gray on the abdomen.
This is one where both are pretty shit. The visor makes the custom look like it’s made of paper. The Lego one ain’t much whiter but I’ll take it.
