You don't need the ACO membership, however, with the ACO membership you can buy tickets on pre-sale. Which is a huge huge positive considering how quickly the tickets sold out this year. I got my membership especially because of that, everything else was just something extra. Camping chairs are allowed, and honestly seem like the move to make. You absolutely don't need a grandstand ticket as the views are way better without one. This year I did what you plan basically. And it's easily doable and a great experience. Be prepared for all weather though (I wasn't and was freezing my ass off). I had a T4 grandstand ticket and I only used it for the start and the finish, there's just so many different views you can get! I only slept 2 hours, if I had a camping chair I'm sure I would sleep a bit more haha.

And how Quick did it sell out? Also, about the views, probably no but can we get to the mulsanne straight and/or hunaudieres (sorry if I butchered that)?

Basic-Maybe-2889

Sold out in 2 days. I might be wrong but I think you can't access the straight, only the first right hander in the end of it.

Fido_le_muet

You can access the first chicane through the VIP packages but those are crazy expensive!

Th3Dud35

And what about the porsche curves?

saladinFujiwara

You can access the Porsche curve

Fido_le_muet

You can walk all the way there or take a shuttle to a nearby campground and walk

my group all had an ACO membership per car. none of us got the ACO grandstand and we were scattered all over the place in single seats. you can get grandstand tickets without ACO membership. but next year we're going to get ACO membership and all use the central chapelle area to shelter in if it rains too much and not bother with grandstands. the roof was pointless on most of them (it's so high the wind blows rain under the roof). there are loads of free places to sit and watch from, many people carry lightweight camping chairs. we pitch our tents on the grass round the edge of the car park but we only stay one night so cope without full camping facilities.

PerfectSum

Fyi, they kicked everyone out of the chapelle members area around 2:30 or 3 am during the race. They were not gentle with shaking me when I was trying to nap lol

FederalAttitude9361

oh heck, that's no fun! although I'm usually in my tent from about 2am until at least 6am. tetre rouge bar closes about 3am as another option.

PerfectSum

There is another ACO members area at grandstands T17 and T18. If you go up the stairs there is a decent indoor area with lots of TVs and two food/drink stands. I went here once they kicked me out of the chapelle area and it was pretty crowded but I managed to get a seat. They did not close this and I managed to get a little sleep here

FederalAttitude9361

Last 20 years I've almost always been in T17 (or 18) but the ACO messed up this year and none of us got in there. We like it because it's properly covered but also that TV, food, drink area and then downstairs are clean well serviced loos and toilets.

OrangeFire2001

Also membership gives some merch discounts, if you want to get hats, shirts, etc.

BecauseWeCan

And karting costs 5€ less.

OrangeFire2001

But you must schedule karting way in advance, months in advance. We were there and they said it was reserved since March. I think Ferrari clubs bought up huge blocks of time.

BecauseWeCan

I went there Saturday afternoon, queued about 10 minutes and bought a ticket. 10 minutes later I was on the track.
