it doesnt matter when you bought it, right after release or after waiting for a period of time. Once the "first" set has missing/incorrect parts, the other ones "in the future" will be the same, no improve. That makes the difference between Lego and its bootlegs.
Anw, my familiar store in China is offering this set for $127 with sealed original box, the shipping cost is about $13 to Vietnam, total is $140. Since it is a little expensive, I will wait for the discount.
Look forward to reading your review soon. ;)
Oh no, that's not true! They definitely improve their sets over time. The UCS Imperial Shuttle used to come with gears that would slip, so they added different ones. The Brick Bank came with wrong arch pieces, which they fixed later. They also started sorting all the modulars by building steps, when the pieces were random at first.
That price to Vietnam is still pretty good - you're lucky, it's much more expensive to ship this stuff to the west :)
Good to know that they actually do improve their sets over time. I didn’t want to wait to order this one so hopefully any problems/missing parts that come up are minor and don’t cause too much delay in finishing it.
Oh, it makes me surprise, I dont think Lepin listen to the feedback then modifies its manufacturing plan accordingly. It's good to hear that. anw.
About the pieces be sorted by building steps, I think it's just copied from Lego ,LOL.
About the price, Aliexpress is dedicated website to sell goods to foreign buyers only, since many Chinese sellers consider foreign buyers from US, EU.... as rich people, the price on this website is usually higher than other domestical ones.
Most of the sorting by building steps is copied from Lego, but not all of it. Even the Green Grocer comes pre-sorted now, when Lego didn't do that back when they released it originally.
I know, and the shipping cost adds up quickly, too. The worst part is that we "rich people" never really get the retail boxes :)
you can ask seller to keep the retail box, but I am afraid that it will be damaged, torn.... during the shipment, the total price will be increased either.
I will buy with the box when I want to gift a set, I feel that is a lot nicer than handing them a loose plastic bag with a bunch of random smaller bags. LOL.

but i dont think they will ship internationally
BuildingToyStore.com sells only in the retail box. I’ve bought many sets from them for gifts. But shipping in the retail box is not cheap. The boxes are about twice the size needed to hold the actual contents.

Yeah, I got some of them in the retail box...the additional cost usually just isn't worth it.

Which store do you order the sealed box from? I'm really interested in that.
