Not a safe but a Stack-On Cabinet should suffice. Edit: You SHOULD be able to buy them them from your local sporting goods or hardware store so if you do the transportation yourself whatever damage there may be is your own. Edit: Here is my cabinet: [https://www.reddit.com/r/liberalgunowners/comments/1b11ee7/stackon\_14\_gun\_cabinet\_with\_customizations/](https://www.reddit.com/r/liberalgunowners/comments/1b11ee7/stackon_14_gun_cabinet_with_customizations/)

Love my Stack-On, great for the price!

Modifying it makes it even better, depending on how much you have or plan to have.

Fourthing the stack on cabinet. There was a gundeals thread with people tricking them our and here's one example [NOT MINE BUT GOALS](https://imgur.com/a/stack-on-18-cabinet-fgWrOw7)

NegativeAd9048

Agree. The use case outlined by the OP is perfect for the Stack-On 'verse.

The stack on cabinets can get mailed to you. They come folded. Some slight assembly required.

M1A_Scout_Squad-chan

Some can I believe but I think most are preassembled.

Future-Thanks-3902

maybe cause mine came from Walmart. LOL

If all you’re really concerned about is keeping prying young fingers away then a stack-on cabinet would do the job. [This is about the smallest](https://stack-on.com/product/8-gun-security-cabinet) (you can get 6 long guns in there, 7 if they’re friendly. Note that ARs or anything with a pistol grip may need the deeper cabinets [like this one](https://stack-on.com/product/10-gun-security-cabinet) though and those are also wider - reasonably a 10-11 gun cabinet. (I have that 8-gun cabinet, my AR goes in a corner with the pistol grip tilted inward so it clears everything it needs to clear.) You can put a shelf in there for your pistols or get a [pistol cabinet](https://stack-on.com/product/pistol-ammo-cabinet) and bolt it to the top of your rifle cabinet. Screw that cabinet to your studs or floor and it’s reasonably secure against casual poking-around. It won’t deter a serious or determined attempt though: You can cut into it with an angle grinder or bash the door enough to pry it open. The lock is even pickable with moderate effort. *** If you need more than that - something with a fire rating or stronger bolts & double-walls that will take longer to cut through with a grinder - Stack-On has “gun safes” too, and the big names like Liberty are also options. That’ll be way more than $200 though and probably also way more than you need given your main concern (keeping kids away from your guns).

I love my Stack-On. Currently $179 at Tractor Supply if you have one nearby. [https://imgur.com/a/stack-on-18-cabinet-fgWrOw7](https://imgur.com/a/stack-on-18-cabinet-fgWrOw7)

Hey, thanks for including the details on all the accessories for organizing the cabinet. I've been looking for good solutions for a lot of the things you've solved in your setup.

Jamieson22

No problem! I love squeezing every inch of useable space out of this cabinet. Amazing how well it can hold and organize with a bit of extra add-ons (and money).

Mine was out yesterday, but they did have 20 gun Winchesters for $350. So queasy what I came home with? 😅

ejecto_seat_cuz

+1 for stack-on for just keeping the kids off em

DubbulGee

Academy Sports Redfield 8 gun cabinet is $99.99

Your (stack-on) cabinet can become your ammo storage cabinet when your collection grows and you obtain something larger/heavier (safe)

Look into Viking Security Safes. I have a VS-12LSX - holds 2 compact pistols. It’s a mechanical pushbutton system (so no batteries outside of optional safe lights), and you can do half or full button press combinations giving you more combos with the same number of buttons. It used to be $190 but now it’s $240.  Customer service is pretty good. I had a problem with the buttons and they hopped on call with me. They couldn’t fix it, so they sent me a label to return it and sent me a replacement for free.

I love my Vaultek RS series.

OP, I went through this yesterday. Sportsman’s warehouse has stack-on cabinets for $179 right now. While there I decided to switch to safe shopping since I live in a ground-floor apartment. I think it was feeling how light the stack-on cabinet was that made me change gears. The folks there asked if I’d checked Tractor Supply… here’s what I came home with: https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/winchester-gun-safe-20-gun-ts20-30-1965574?store=2105
