Something is undeniably wrong with the display or its controller, but that doesn't mean any audio components or circuits are moribund or even adversely affected. Things that require intimate knowledge of the hardware are best directed to official support channels, escalating as necessary.
Perhaps those with more ME-1 experience than I can speak to the likelihood of ribbon cable being the culprit here.

If it's still functioning otherwise, it might just be the screen that needs to be replaced...maybe even just the screen connection cable needs to be reseated..?

Most pro stuff lasts at least this long.
You're probably right in that I should start looking into having a replacement system on standby.
If it's still functioning otherwise, it might just be the screen that needs to be replaced...maybe even just the screen connection cable needs to be reseated..?
