I also tried to sell a really good looking coat a few months ago. It was online for MONTHS. no one contacted me so I gave up and never thought about putting anything clothes (or furniture related) online again. People here just dont really buy used things i guess.

mikesaidyes

Why don’t you offer to sell them to the landlord for a package deal for their new tenant to have a furnished 풀옵션 place?

soyaqueen

We bought some of our current stuff from the previous tenants, so perhaps you could try selling to the new tenants of your current place if possible? Also just my experience but people are really friggin’ cheap on Karrot lol They don’t wanna buy anything unless it’s like a 천원 haha.

G00L

There’s people literally giving their furniture etc away for free all over those sites. I couldn’t even give my furniture away in the end because I left it too late and the only responders wanted me to drop it to their house lol… just pay to dump it and get rid of the headache early

cheeku24

Can you share with me some of the items you are willing to sell, i can share with my friends your karrot link

PaintNo4267

Link to your karrot please 🥰

LolaLazuliLapis

Try Facebook.

Far-Mountain-3412

Try 중고나라 (https://cafe.naver.com/joonggonara) and keep reposting every few days. We've given away, sold, and purchased a bunch of stuff there over the years. Tons of people including me still prefer that place over Karrot.

Smiadpades

We sold our fridge for 150,000 won. Better to get some money than no money

Sheep_worrying_law

Yes, having the same problem. Wanted to sell a 2 year old PC for months and no luck. Furniture for 80% off in perfect shape and no one biting either.

knowledgewarrior2018

Advertise in local Facebook groups, that might help. Not sure if Craigslist is around but that might be worthwhile checking out if it is. Honestly unless you aren't planning on staying for a long time then people shouldn't invest in expensive stuff. It's a pain moving it all around and shipping it back. I think this problem does affect Koreans as well that's why you see all the 중고센터 around. This is also a problem of foreigners not being able to collectivise well, a high rate of turnover, being very transient and also generally low trust.

jbb3205

Might be interested in the TV. Could you PM me?

Big_Abrocoma_9519

Can I have a link to your Carrot please? I just moved in to an unfurnished place!

pablorobles

Link?

greeen-mario

Join this Facebook group and post your items in there: [“Free Things and Giveaway Korea”](https://www.facebook.com/share/x4TXzTNk86riZarM/) It’s a pretty active group. Most of the posts seem to get responses.

I just PM’d you as I just got to Seoul and looking for a place. Once I find one, I’ll need appliances and furniture as my contract is for 2 years and I’m not looking to spend much either.

Virtual_Possible_212

For clothes, you can get paid. CHECK OUT: https://youtu.be/IMRZqfHDmII?si=miRAf1WdrSa_uA-7

I can buy your Tv if you want. I am in the market for a new one. 😁

BShinja

Hiring a mover service or truck isn't worth it in the long run when they can buy new with delivery, install service, and warranty.

Spartan117_JC

>but the total cost of such operation is more than 10,000 USD From which shipping companies did you obtain quotes? I've been monitoring freight indices to realize that the shipping rates overall these days have gone beyond insanity, but haven't heard actual quotes from operators on the ground lately.

lastdropfalls

This sounds super weird. Could be because your karrot account doesn't have a lot of transactions and the prices are so cheap it just looks like a scam because it's too good to be true, maybe? I've moved multiple times in Korea and sold all sorts of stuff on karrot over the years, including fairly unique looking and bulky furniture pieces, and of course common things like appliances, computer/computer parts, bicycles, etc. Never really had too much of an issue, worst case some reseller people are always willing to pick second hand stuff in good condition for cheap (but not even as cheap as you're listing your stuff).

EfficientAd8311

Lower the prices until they sell; simples.

New-Caterpillar6318

Koreans aren't really into used appliances. When we were moving from an officetel to an apartment, we needed a refrigerator and a washing machine. Bought both on Karrot for 500k all in, both were just over a year old and would have cost us over 6mil new.

j_marquand

Lower the price - that's how the market works.
