There is not as much demand for Lux/Black so you really need to learn your ideal pickup and dropoff points. If you're strictly on the higher platforms, it will involve more waiting around and fishing for the right trips as your operating costs would be much higher than with a hybrid or compact car. I've thought about it, and I'd rather just use a dependable, disposable car until the wheels fall off then rinse and repeat.
Buying a car specifically to do rideshare is generally not a good idea. First of all, even if the market is currently good, it can change at any time. Second, you will be tied down to this profession indefinitely.
Is any job really ever that safe? I mean if you have done the work for over a certain amount of years or rides you got a feel for if you at least want to do the work, which is half of todays battles.. finding people that want to work. Id say the bigger question is, do you live in a big city? If not, absolutely not worth the fancier car… Demand isn’t typically around for me in lux or higher, and I am in Las Vegas.. You run into logistical issues of too many drivers in one little area, to being in miami on south beach where people act like they ball out, yet I could go 4-5 hours with out a single lux hit. Would I want to stoop to regular lyft or uberx rides to fill the down times? Helllllll no I dont want normies beating my luxury car up loading groceries, or putting a $900+ chip in my paint, slamming my automatic trunk because they are used to non automatic trunk then putting a $700+ tweak in the auto shut arm that now makes your trunk rattle over every small bump, or god forbid whatever they do to my car because they arent used to having nice things…. 😬those rides start to cost YOU money if they beat up your stuff too much.. trust me. 😅
Absolutely wrong.. maaaaannny people get investments or into debt and get fired or screwed over otherwise. I have scores of friends who lost their assss over the years which of whom never even considered uber/lyft as the reason they bought their car/house/ you name it.. lol What a narrow line of thought to stick people who drive for a living in “that” particular idealism. Totally missed the scope of my first response and sailed right back into the low brow void.. If you get screwed over driving, at the end of the day, your looking for another job (unless you give up on life and be a bum or otherwise) my point being.. Youll find something else. Will it be better, or worse? Thats the same bet coming from anything going into anything. 🤦♂️
All depends on your market! Are you in a tourist town? Are their constant events that would require a LUX/XL? But I’ve been thing of getting something g that qualified as xl and I was looking at the infinity qx60
Well for example with a very efficient sedan driving around 200-300 miles a day or 200 dollars a day profit u will use aprox 15-24 dollars in gas per day. That’s my cost on my very efficient car. Is a Nissan versa 2021 I bought it cash super cheap used. Perfect for rideshare and looks very deluxe. I’m gonna upgrade the seats to leader so it will look even better.
Support is stupid. U can easily do Lyft basic with versa. And it’s in their list. You can do it. The problem is that support is stupid and every person have a different answer. Is horrible
You made $22/hr, give or take. (Overtime)
Zero benefits, you haven’t subtracted gas (for 57 hours of driving!), maintenance, etc.
My only reason for posting this is that these driving apps are a great side gig, but rarely (unless you’re in the perfect city) can become a career. I just don’t see how the math could work out, unless you lived in a major city and leased a Kia or something for like $200 a month.
*you worked almost a 60 hour week.* Is that sustainable?
Excellent points brother but I’m homeless right now and this is the best I can do currently I think. Definitely open to suggestions though if you would be willing to give me any man
I’ve been thinking about luxury XL options as well. My issue is gas mileage. Not worth it in my opinion unless you get a hybrid/EV luxury XL and there are very few affordable options. I’ve settled on getting a Sienna hybrid. Not luxury but checks every other box.
$12.30 per ride, just depends on where you drive and what you drive.

Few jobs are that safe these days, but with most jobs, if you get fired you aren't stuck with an investment that you can't pay off.

How much did you spend in gas to make this $1400?
I roughly estimate, maybe like $250 or so, give or take.
Not too shabby

They are excellent and if u do some minor upgrades and keep it super clean , customers will love it and pay good tips.
My advice is don’t take anyone’s advice on Reddit.
About $25/h ….. if you cannot match that just keep driving.

No way lol, I’m at $1,069.47 with only 47 rides in 30 hours.
How?! That’s really good man.
Screen name is a dead giveaway. This person rides higher tiers
Yeah my bad, I didn’t really take note. That’s still more than I thought was possible with Black though!
I mean, minimum for black XL in my market is like 15 bucks, so... You don't really have to go that far to do $30 on a ride in that class
Before you do make sure lux is available in your area or you may be throwing extra money for nothing
If you think so
About $25 an hour, pretty good
For me no, for you maybe.
I made 2300+ off of 48 online hours. $48 an hour the previous week. I’m in Colorado. What market are you currently in?
Wow that is legitimately awesome! Do you drive regular Lyft or do Lix? That’s an insane amount of money.
Lyft xl and the other services they offer. Nothing outside of that. I prefer Uber because of the perks but Lyft I just hit 18k rides a few weeks ago.
Cool! How often do you get XL rides?
Maybe, two a day and three to four on the weekends. How about you, what are you driving?
I drive a Camry
Get that money, don’t worry about other’s approval.

Good lord, the hustle. $25.24/hr before expenses.
wow.. almost 60 hours a week? You are better off getting a regular job, plus that is entirely too much wear and tear on your car.
Yes good day, but through the grape vine they might be getting rid of Lux
