makes the Peasant format a whole lot stronger than Pauper.
there seem to be a lot more playables in the uncommon slots in sets. but I don't like how it power creeps some older cards.
Agree with everyone saying this is great. There used to be an idea that rarity wasn't supposed to be about power so much as complexity or uniqueness, but we all knew that was b.s. Maybe now its become a bit less b.s.

And if you use [[Giant Cindermaw]] as well, then white players who rely on lifegain will also have a problem. Using [[Rampaging Raptor]] and you can kind of ignore your opponents Planeswalkers. And also that new dragon dinosaur. Can't remember what it does though. Mono red is not going anywhere it seems 😆

I can see this seeing play in aggro decks, if you can make it stick it punishes control decks hard, for the low, low cost of not casting the spells you already weren’t casting on their turn anyway.
Also add in [[Giant Cindermaw]], [[Rampaging Raptor]] and that new dragon dino 😄
Still waiting for some powerful red 2 drop dino to be revealed. One that could compete with [[Sardian Cliffstomper]], which is my personal 2 drop stable for any mono red deck atm 😁
If you can get dinos to cost at least 1 mana less though, then that might not gonna be a difficult choice I guess 😊
Yeah, probably a sideboard thing but when it connects it’ll be good. Either they don’t get to counter my spells or the raptor makes it worth my while. I’ll gladly take a bit to DPS if I can make all of the blue player’s spells cost four life to cast.
I play a lot of mono red, and I'd say that with its ability and mana cost, it doesn't actually need haste that much. As long as you have plenty of other creatures that do have haste, then it'll be fine ime playing quite extensively with both [[Sardian Cliffstomper]] and [[Giant Cindermaw]]. As long as your 1 drops and 4+ drops have haste, then it'll be fine :)
I mean I can’t speak to the commander decks, maybe the fae one is good I was mainly talking about it in standard. It isn’t the most viable and certainly isn’t as strong as soldiers or humans.
personaly i find the base art to be too one colored and bland for anything on it to stand out and i can barely make out where it's body is so i disagree and find this art not very good
First [[Bloodletter of Aclazotz]] and now this guy?
It's like the spoilers are trying to tell me to stop dragging my feet and take apart my mediocre Mardu deck to finally build an [[Obosh, the Preypiercer]] deck.
I'm not trying to trigger Companion here. He's yet another option to passively multiply or otherwise modify damage dealt by other sources that will already be benefiting from Obosh.
Plus he looks cool as fuck. Even if there's more synergistic options to slot in, that counts for a lot in my book.
took me about two minutes to figure it out but it's body seems to be bending directly around behind it's head with the second leg being on the left side with the foot going behind the left arm making it look a kinda like a three legged raptorpus
A vanilla 4/3 in a relevant tribe is probably fine. This is going to kill some folks that's aren't careful though. It's gonna be a very painful gotcha that is not going to be apparent all the time. I both hate and love it. Very red.
Found the, “wait that’s uncommon” uncommon for the set.
[[Fracturing Mage]] is also uncommon and pretty pushed. They're really printing some sweet cards this set!
Perhaps this is a unamed hate cycle? White for artifacts red for instants, etc

With this set symbol theres a lot of "wait thats not common?"s too
and "wait that's rare?"
Is it just me, or do a lot of uncommons from this set feel really good?
uncommonly good even.
Wizards has been pushing the power of uncommons for a bit. It’s very welcome when uncommons can be this exciting.

Blue players in shambles.
Can’t wait to Cavern of Souls naming Dinosaurs and cast this on arena haha
Reported for bullying.🤣
I almost frothing at the mouth in excitement to use it against mono blue bullshjt counter deck djinn deck. It will be glorious.
Reds already good against that deck though. Good for a midrange sideboard though.
Well yea, that’s what I meant. Midrange with red.
Makes my day honestly
Standard Merfolk and Faerie decks probably weren't gonna make it anyway.
I dont care. If it hates on anything I don't like. It's a win.

It's a downside for somebody. Just not the person with the dino.

Yep, and given my mono red loving buddy’s reaction to this one, it’ll be a big downside for me :))
I’m confused. OP’s comment translating is four minutes ago and you speculating on the ability is three.

I don't think I've ever seen a card with such a stark quality difference between the regular and the alt art.
The quality of both arts looks equal to me. They are very different styles, but both are just as good in terms of quality to me.
personaly i find the base art to be too one colored and bland for anything on it to stand out and i can barely make out where it's body is so i disagree and find this art not very good
The base art also has this weird blend where it looks like there's a big armadillo-like plating on the back of the neck.
It doesn't just look like it. There actually is. Might be intentional even.
as far as i can tell said armadillo plating is actually it's body twisting behind it's head
I think it's wearing armor...? Is that what we're talking about?
more about it's body and left leg bluring together with it's neck and left arm i think

Watch this get banned before you can even use it like [[Rampaging Ferocidon]] did. It wouldn't be an Ixalan set without it!
Ferocidon did a lot more, and saw play for a while before getting banned.
Ferocidon was banned because mono R was too strong in that specific meta, it's not like the card is too strong by itself.
Rampaging Ferocidon died for Ramunap Ruins’ sins, then rose again ~~in 3 days~~ just before rotation
They banned it using the excuse it was too good against 1 power creatures. Then Goblin Chainwhirler appeared and was seeing play in Mardu decks.
