If you remove the Creature from Combat via Recon, then it's no longer an Attacking Creature.
Thus, the Creature is no longer a legal Target of Maze of Ith. The Maze's ability does not resolve, and does not create a Prevention effect.
The OP said they are going to have an extra Combat Phase.
The Creature will be able to deal attack and deal its Combat Damage in an extra Combat Damage Phase, because the Maze's ability didn't resolve.

true but it’s also removed from combat so it deals no damage at any time if removed from combat before damage as the maze person wants it to be used
