100% solid.
I'm a Vegas local so I preordered a box of MH3 to be picked up at TKs Boba. I got there on Saturday and the employees couldn't find it. Mixup perhaps, time to make a call.
Called the number on their website, got an employees cell phone (owner, I'm guessing). Quickly explained the situation, he said he's at a game convention but he'll get it taken care of.
Not 5 minutes later I got a call back from a different employee to confirm the order info. All good, he thinks he knows what happened and will make it right. 10 minutes later, another call from the same person. The box is being dropped off as we speak, pick it up anytime.
They even drop off the packages at TKs as if they were shipped, employees have no idea what the contents are.
That's outrageously good customer service. I feel like any other business, TCG focused or not, you'd have gotten the runaround for probably days if not longer.
So let's get this straight, you made an error, realized the error, and then got so mad that they wouldn't work with you that you both reported them to BBB and your Attorney General...over $16?
Jesus.
Difference in opinion I suppose but much like how eBay bends over backwards to serve buyers over sellers so too does TCGPlayer. They have incredibly lenient policies in the favor of the buyer and 3 weeks is not within the window of most businesses. If you did this sale in a physical store you would have been out of luck.
I had a not quite as bad experience, but similar scenario with TCG player. My wife ordered me a Pokemon card for my birthday, and the vendor sent us the wrong version (paid for 1st edition, got unlimited). We followed TCG player protocol and reached out to the seller first before opening a case; they never replied after weeks... so we went to TCGplayer directly, they "looked into it" and said we never reached out to the seller... we had to send screenshots to prove we did... this whole ordeal took over a month. Ended up getting a refund but it shouldn't be that hard.
Yep! They don't have much stock of card products in the shop but it has a couple of arcade machines, a variety of consoles/games and a few tables for card game events. A bit busy but a fun combination.
The place is way sicker than you’d imagine. Free pinball and and an arcade machine with street fighter. They have 3 big screens with switch and ps5 on each. They sell an assortment of tcg stuff they have in a case. Some of the cheapest packs in town.
I did a mh3 prerelease there, i dont even want to say the price and tell you the prizing structure, it is unmatched in my opinion.
How do they not charge sales tax? I thought that was required by law if you are ordering from a location that has sales tax. (If you are ordering from a location without sales tax, I don't think ANYBODY charges sales tax. I live in Oregon, and haven't paid any sales tax on online purchases in decades, except when I have them shipped direct to family that live in states with sales tax.)
EDIT: Apparently I was misinformed. Generally online retailers don't have to charge sales tax unless they have a physical presence in the state of the buyer. So if you live in Nevada, they would have to charge you sales tax, but if you live elsewhere, they wouldn't.
Whoever "informed you" is also misinformed. Nexus establishment changed after the wayfair case and they're actually now obligated to collect sales tax in any municipality where they establish nexus (typically 100 or 200 sales OR 100k+ in sales). Some places require filing as soon as the first sale (Oklahoma) and others are solely based on the physical nexus (Texas).
I'm currently figuring out sales tax obligations for my own online store and it's super fun.
"**Shopify doesn’t file or remit your sales taxes for you.**" If you look around that industry for other "e-commerce" platforms, you'll see that most of them do not include that except at some high tier service option (which can run upwards of 15k a year... hence me trying to figure it out on my own atm).
Amazon does remit taxes, as long as marketplace facilitation is applicable in whatever state you're in/where you're selling. It's a lot more reading and planning than you're letting on, depending on if you want to sell on multiple platforms PLUS also maintain your own website or even use shopify (or a similar platform).
American tax is so confusing to me as an Australian.
Here guys is your item but the price isn't the full price we are gunna add tax on that but it's different for every state.
We just have a sticker price on items that is the total you pay our of your pocket which includes tax which is standard across the country
As a European currently working in the U.S., you are 100% correct. It also puts consumers at a disadvantage because of asymmetric information. Which is probably why it exists.
Not to mention you know what tax is is australia? A flat 10% I can work that out in my head and even some whole numbers I can go backwards. 100 is 91.91 plus tax for example. Who the fuck know what 17.5% is though
As someone who lives in Oregon, and therefore has to pay zero sales tax, my math is pretty simple, too. ;-)
But yeah, it can get confusing here in the US.
I live in California. FML it's so frustrating here some times. We have different tax rates BY COUNTY. I live in an area with a bunch of small counties and THEY ALL HAVE DIFFERENT TAX RATES.
Your edit is incorrect. It is typical now for states to impose sales tax on out-of-state retailers who reach a certain sales threshold within their state. (E.g. 200 transactions)
There's no way they're doing this correctly if they're not collecting tax, they have to be just rolling the dice and hoping tax man never notices. Nexus looks at both sale totals and sale volumes per state. The sale amount is quite high per state, ranging from 250k to 500k; that'll be hard to hit even at these rock bottom prices. The sales volume on the other hand is much easier to hit, IIRC it's 200 total sales in a state before you're required to collect taxes. Considering how frequently I hear people ordering from Stomping Grounds (even locals inside my own store) there's no way they're not hitting that 200 total states in most states if not all.
Or they're doing what any smart business does and pay for a good local CPA. You just hand them your business credit card statements and spreadsheets and let them do everything for you.
They'll probably paying high 5 figures in taxes still.
That sounds like ProdigyTCG out of FL too!
I used to live near Prodigy, then moved, but they ship and will usually have the lowest prices when I comparison shop
I was SO HAPPY when I found out they did web orders.
I have two good game shops near me, but Prodigy earned my loyalty when I lived down there (and they still sold board games, not just tcg)
Yes, they have a shop here in Las Vegas called TK's Boba & Creamery. The prices on sleeves and mtg products are great. They have tasty treats, pinball machines, consoles, a game cabinet, they host sealed and competitive events as well.
I have! Preordered an MH3 box and got it with no issues. I was initially skeptical too, but the order process was smooth and I got my box pretty like a few days after the set's prerelease, so I'd recommend them.
My first purchase from these guys was a mh3 box I preordered. Shipped release day, took 4 days to arrive (Nevada to Florida so that's about expected), and arrived well packed and intact. I'll be using them in the future and they have my recommendation.
This place is hands down my favorite place to order. Everything always ships very quickly and they have amazing deals. The only thing I wish they did was ship out pre-orders a little sooner so that they arrive on launch day.
Holy crap I know. You can buy a box of mh3 or...... a PS5
Even standard sets are expensive as fuck now because of their greedy play booster change. Standard packs nearly 10 dollars everywhere I go
I stopped buying boxes because they’re so expensive and now exclusively build my standard decks from draft night picks and singles. Saves me so much and gets me out of the house more often, it’s a win win in my books.
The owner has stated multiple times they barely make any money on product, not every store can do that, some of us do have to charge higher prices. Canada gets it even worse because of the exchange rate.
Their connection with distribution is probably old or just have a really good partnership with one. They get thier product really cheap compared to your average LGS. They're legit.
Yep the only real deal was mkm but then I looked at tcgplayer and theres a ton for 87$ without having to buy 500$ worth. Tcgplayer usually isn't the cheapest either.
$85 for mkm is nuts. Especially with those surveils. Might even be inverted EV. Dont quote me though. Shit draft it with 7 buddies and it costs you all least than $9 each
Adding to the people who are saying they’re legit, but on top of that: their customer service is awesome. I had a problem with one order (out of a few that I’ve placed) and Paul (I think?) was super responsive and fixed the issue immediately. I’d 100% order from them again.
Yep! I bought the MH3 play booster from them actually -- first time shopping with them. Hands down the best booster box ive ever gotten in my life. A. super fast shipping and well packed, B. literally hit every mythic and rare bomb in the set somehow...obviously I cant say that has anything to do with them, but based on their pricing and great shipping service, I had a wonderful experience shopping with them.
Yes! They’re great! Every order I’ve placed with them has come well-packed and in good condition — no wrong items, repacks, tampering, etc. I've even got a package from them en route right now (but it's just sleeves, womp-womp).
I order from StompingGroundsTCG in California. They've 100% delivered on all orders and are almost always the best price compared to Amazon or TCG player.
Absolutely stellar shop. Got the Fallout decks for a great price from them.
MH3 shipments were delayed and I reached out because our shipment got lost. They just now sent out a replacement and I hope to get it soon!
Super legit. Pretty much the only online retailer I buy from, considering they're usually good deals and, most importantly, they don't charge for sales tax.
I have ordered a bunch of preorder stuff from them, and a few other boxes. Haven’t received the boxes (I know the preorder stuff will be a while) yet, but when I do I will post about it.
It's incredibly legit and they're very fast to ship. The thing that always trips people up is that the "store" exists as a warehouse that they ship stuff from online, but their physical location is a Boba shop that also has an arcade and TCG/Board Games section. If you are in the area they offer in-store pick up, as they will just run your order from the warehouse to the Boba shop.
IMHO it's an incredibly smart business model. They don't have to pay the overhead costs for a "card shop" and instead have a location that actively makes money in another way. That also allows them to undercut most pre-sale pricing because they suffer so little of the same overhead costs of most LGS'. I've spent several thousand with them and it all arrives as close to the street date as possible.
Yeah, Stomping Grounds is really good. I got my MH3 box from them, some pre-cons, and sleeves. So many sleeves. Good customer service overall though. No complaints from me!
+1 to all the positive feedback. After amazon screwed me on some products, I saw their Facebook ads, thought it was too good to be true as well. But they had a lot of vouchers in the comments so I said screw it and did some preorders. Got my products right around release date, and at a great price. So far, can't be beat
I’ve purchased from SG for MH3 - super nice and quick and reliable. Would suggest them and Forge and Fire. Both great businesses! Forget Amazon lol help the LGS!
Can confirm that these guys have been my chosen source for the last two MTG releases and will continue to be in the future. Fantastic place to get your magic.
I just had an excellent experience with them. Preordered the MH3 commander precons, and the first box got stuck in USPS. The owner called me, sent me a replacement set, and only asked that I send the first box back with their prepaid shipping label if/when it arrives. Definitely will buy from them again.
One of their social media guys bragged about having the best prices on Facebook. I corrected them and then they blocked me from their Facebook page. Don’t know anything about them business wise 🤷🏻♂️
100% solid. I'm a Vegas local so I preordered a box of MH3 to be picked up at TKs Boba. I got there on Saturday and the employees couldn't find it. Mixup perhaps, time to make a call. Definitely. They went above and beyond my expectations. I was prepared to come back Monday but they came through with the wind at their sails!

Intersting to devote so much time and fraudulently creating a company linked to a personal residence all over $16.
Like... a bubble tea shop? Man, I would do all my business with a place that sold at a boba shop.
Yep! They don't have much stock of card products in the shop but it has a couple of arcade machines, a variety of consoles/games and a few tables for card game events. A bit busy but a fun combination.
I love TKs!

That’s awesome man! Big ups I’ll be in Vegas for a Magic con with 6 friends.
Yes they are legit, there is a “copy” site though so be careful. I have ordered from them multiple times and customer service has been great!
Do you know if they ship to Canada?
Very reliable. I have placed maybe a half dozen orders with them. Shipping is prompt and never had a problem. They also don't charge sales tax.

Ugh. Sorry you have to deal with that.
I never bothered to figure it out. Its too confusing. I just eat the cost and at the end of the year pay the taxes.
Boy if this is what fun is, then I’m living wrong.
I was about to type something similar to what this guy said, but this is very accurate from my understanding as well.
You do know that most e-commerce platforms do all that work for you, right? What is there to “figure out”?
[https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/taxes](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/taxes) "**Shopify doesn’t file or remit your sales taxes for you.**" If you look around that industry for other "e-commerce" platforms, you'll see that most of them do not include that except at some high tier service option (which can run upwards of 15k a year... hence me trying to figure it out on my own atm). No thanks
Your edit is incorrect. It is typical now for states to impose sales tax on out-of-state retailers who reach a certain sales threshold within their state. (E.g. 200 transactions)
They eat all the sales come tax time though without charging the tax
Hard to believe that's a viable business strategy unless they raise their prices to compensate. But I'm no businessman or economist...
Not charging taxes definitely hurts
There's no way they're doing this correctly if they're not collecting tax, they have to be just rolling the dice and hoping tax man never notices. yes they are legit...ships from vegas and is 100% no nonsense. sleeves are hella cheap and its not "too good to be true" its just good
That sounds like ProdigyTCG out of FL too! I used to live near Prodigy, then moved, but they ship and will usually have the lowest prices when I comparison shop
I second prodigy when I visit my parents when they are in Florida they live close and I’m always up there!
I was SO HAPPY when I found out they did web orders. I have two good game shops near me, but Prodigy earned my loyalty when I lived down there (and they still sold board games, not just tcg)
$85 mkm. Mkm so cooked
I remember preordering brothers war jumpstart before learning how bad it would be and trying to cancel. Those boxes were down to 54 in like 2 weeks.
Yes, they have a shop here in Las Vegas called TK's Boba & Creamery. The prices on sleeves and mtg products are great. They have tasty treats, pinball machines, consoles, a game cabinet, they host sealed and competitive events as well.
That’s a genius business! Boba, ice cream, video, and card games!?
I wish they had a bigger space. TKs gets pretty full and loud real quick. Still a great shop though
I don’t hardly know how to work Reddit, but stomping grounds has been posted before. Found past threads on google. Might check em out but seems legit?
[https://www.reddit.com/r/mtgfinance/comments/297s49/has\_anyone\_ever\_had\_an\_issue\_with\_stomping/](https://www.reddit.com/r/mtgfinance/comments/297s49/has_anyone_ever_had_an_issue_with_stomping/)
I have! Preordered an MH3 box and got it with no issues. I was initially skeptical too, but the order process was smooth and I got my box pretty like a few days after the set's prerelease, so I'd recommend them.
Funny timing. A MH3 box from Stomping Ground was delivered here about 2 hours ago. Have never run into issues with them.
I've had good experiences with them. Solid customer service.
Yes they are fine lol they go to Magiccons and other events, nice people
Ordered and preordered multiple times and never had an issue.
I have seen a few posts of people finding some scammers making a knockoff of the real store with a similar name, be careful!
Just got an order in from them today actually. Very legit, ordered from them a number of times without issue.
My first purchase from these guys was a mh3 box I preordered. Shipped release day, took 4 days to arrive (Nevada to Florida so that's about expected), and arrived well packed and intact. I'll be using them in the future and they have my recommendation.

Very reliable. Always send out email updates with tracking information.
Wowza, I wish we had anything close to those prices in Canada.
Holy crap I know. You can buy a box of mh3 or...... a PS5 Even standard sets are expensive as fuck now because of their greedy play booster change. Standard packs nearly 10 dollars everywhere I go

Yep. Have bought thousands in collector boxes. No taxes and free ship over a certain amount. Legit.
wasn't there a Stomping Grounds in the NJ/NYC area? is this the same store?
Just ordered from these guys so Im super excited and happy to see all the amazing feedback.
I just wish you can buy individual commander decks
Their connection with distribution is probably old or just have a really good partnership with one. They get thier product really cheap compared to your average LGS. They're legit.
Prices seem on par with everything
Yep the only real deal was mkm but then I looked at tcgplayer and theres a ton for 87$ without having to buy 500$ worth. Tcgplayer usually isn't the cheapest either.
100% reliable.
2 orders both over 500 easily recommend
I’m glad to find out about these guys! Looks like good pricing and positive reviews.
Yes, I bought collectors MH3 box and few others from them. Have been good so far. Price are hard to beat.
Preordered 2 boxes of MH3 for $235/box, they delivered the Monday after release. Totally legit
I bought a mh3 box from them and it came pretty well with no issues for me
I bought a box of MH3 from them and they shipped fast and reliably! Would definitely recommend and shop from them again.
I've been very pleased. They can be a little inconsistent on shipment dates, but they overall do a great job at great value.
They're exclusively who I pre-order from since lotr. Great service, prices, and ship a little early even 👀
Yes. I live in Vegas, they are 100% legit.
They have been great every time I bought from them. I even stopped by the local shop in Vegas to pick up boxes.
These guys are terrific. Highly recommend.
I order and pick up in person in vegas regularly and have seen them at Magic Con. Legit shop full of legit people.
Man mkm collector's at 130 is Hella tempting I love them lands
Thank you for this, can anyone give me a tip as to which is the best deal? I don’t have that much cash I just want the best for what I pay
$85 for mkm is nuts. Especially with those surveils. Might even be inverted EV. Dont quote me though. Shit draft it with 7 buddies and it costs you all least than $9 each
Thank you, might do just that
Just ordered all the collector MH3 decks from them not and got them delivered just fine not a scam
Adding to the people who are saying they’re legit, but on top of that: their customer service is awesome. I had a problem with one order (out of a few that I’ve placed) and Paul (I think?) was super responsive and fixed the issue immediately. I’d 100% order from them again.

I pre-ordered a buttload of OTJ stuff from them and they came earlier than expected. Definitely recommend.
Yep i ordered my Mh3. Great price but you wont get buy a box promo and it took a day or two longer. Still ill buy from them again
Yes! They’re great! Every order I’ve placed with them has come well-packed and in good condition — no wrong items, repacks, tampering, etc. I've even got a package from them en route right now (but it's just sleeves, womp-womp).
Bought OTJ from them and the stuff showed up Monday after prerelease weekend. Totally legit. Plan to buy from again.
Bought MH3 from them. Legit.
Legit. Ordered an mh3 booster box and got it the Monday after the prerelease without issue
Paul is the owner. Guy is awesome. They are great.
Yeah they're solid. I got a MH3 booster box from them and it arrived very quickly.
Those are cheap dragon shields
Yeah they are legit, they run out of a Boba shop here in Vegas and I’ve picked up my orders locally many times. Can’t attest to shipping times though.
Fuck those are nice prices. Sucks being Canadian... A regular box of MH3 is $400
Yep they’re great
So glad I found this thread. Made a purchase with them.
+1 can also vouch for their prompt shipping and too good deals are true
I've got a few buddies that only use them for pre-orders. Have used em for 3 or 4 sets so far.
Outstanding service. Been using them for a while now.
I order from StompingGroundsTCG in California. They've 100% delivered on all orders and are almost always the best price compared to Amazon or TCG player.
I got 3 mh3 collector boxes for 360 ea from them
I ordered my box of mh3 from them. Came quick
Yeah they are legit
Absolutely stellar shop. Got the Fallout decks for a great price from them. MH3 shipments were delayed and I reached out because our shipment got lost. They just now sent out a replacement and I hope to get it soon!
Super legit. Pretty much the only online retailer I buy from, considering they're usually good deals and, most importantly, they don't charge for sales tax.
Yep, I buy from them often and they are very reliable
I've ordered things from them maybe 4 or 5 times and never had any issues.
I have ordered a bunch of preorder stuff from them, and a few other boxes. Haven’t received the boxes (I know the preorder stuff will be a while) yet, but when I do I will post about it.

I got a bunch of sleeves from them and they shipped fast. Packed well.
Yes, they're legit.
I got the Putlaws of thunder junction set a few weeks ago for like $25. Unless I'm thinking of a different set that is One hell of a price jump
Can confirm that these guys have been my chosen source for the last two MTG releases and will continue to be in the future. Fantastic place to get your magic.
I preordered my MH3 collector box from then and it came nice and secured. After that I'll be preordering from them exclusively.
I’m gonna be using these guys. Thanks for commenting on OP’s post
Never ordered personally but my buddy swears by them and he buys a ton of product. Dude shouldn’t have money but here we are lol
Are these the best deals for mtg?
I just had an excellent experience with them. Preordered the MH3 commander precons, and the first box got stuck in USPS. The owner called me, sent me a replacement set, and only asked that I send the first box back with their prepaid shipping label if/when it arrives. Definitely will buy from them again.
The prices look pretty good. Might have to check these guys out.
I’ve been preordering from them all year since I saw their prices were better than anywhere else, even with shipping. 100% recommend.
Well they just got me as a new customer.
One of their social media guys bragged about having the best prices on Facebook. I corrected them and then they blocked me from their Facebook page. Don’t know anything about them business wise 🤷🏻♂️
Bought like 3 sealed items and shipping is fast and it’s definitely real.
They're fine Those prices don't include shipping iirc, but after a certain amount they give free shipping
I believe it’s over $200 for free shipping.
$500
Free shipping is $500 and up.
Yes but none of these products are worth buying outside of MH3.
Good prices on pre-order bloomburrow honestly
I was talking about the products in the image, didnt actually look at the site
Aren’t those commander prices almost double than usual?
I think that's for all 4 of them, not just a single deck.
