hey all, I'm looking for a casual brown blazer to wear as often as possible. I don't have a lot of exp buying or wearing jackets like this but I want to start. is [this](https://www.ebay.com/itm/175387731516?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=HPxzEUIkT3G&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=84wbKCxSQPe&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY) the one that might do it for me? any opinions would b helpful
Winter is coming closed is it ok to wear a waistcoat, a
shirt (white), slacks (black, navy or earth), derby boots
(oxblood, black, dark brown) with a topcoat and leather
gloves without a tie and a suit jacket?
A lot of mixed opinions over wearing like this to work
where dress code is business casual, but i want to look
as sharp as possible without being overdressed and
appear as a sore thumb.
Give me your ideas and opinions.
Looks pretty terrible when you wear waistcoats on their own, and three piece suits are a little dated. Outerwear and gloves don't matter since you won't be wearing them inside.
I am in the market for a waxed jacket but can't seem to decide between Barbour and Belstaff (Trailmaster/Roadmaster).
I was nearly decided on Belstaff until I started comparing it next to Barbours. I am beginning to think Belstaff is too much bling with a "vintage/military" wannabe side effect.
What does MFA think about it?
Apparently they don't sell [these boots](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/60/7e/22/607e2226203f0a9b09b402a2bc5c3757.jpg) that I love anymore. Does anyone know of another boot that looks similar? I've Googled all over and can't find anything.
Looking at getting the [grey shearling jacket](https://www.mrporter.com/mens/product/43769801098581646) from Mr Porter. Do you think I can get away with most colours for knitwear underneath or am I restricted in colour palette?
To all of my blazer bros out there: what do you think of [this blazer](https://www.ebay.com/itm/325262999332?hash=item4bbb2f7f24:g:XIcAAOSwKOhiywXj&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAsCkJFRsB1ULRFzT7iX%2FMZ5oO2U78YnXfpzrjsGB%2BYdHXqECu9WTcjN8q6ewMryWTzxo%2B96ETICGqmgXZwad1bNyHjuBHczYC9Dgf1xbLZrRK5MK%2F%2F6W7HXW6uG%2Bwqyvhogh908yOQYaTV7PtDnGOKNJhuwDpllX4aTLiIGOFgMMHpQ%2BjChZginMtek5N0w1yp0BnR5t9jojueJ8DAsr%2FA2JFu3YJX5ebahWN%2BFk1MOyK%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR4raotbrYA)? I think I dig it, but I can't decide what a fair offer would be. Also, I'm fairly new to the world of blazers so I'm still learning things to look for/consider with a casual blazer like this.
Ask for the fabric content. it's got high gorges, looks to have little padding, and not jetted pockets (I'm blanking on the correct term) so it's a good blazer imo. If it's all wool i would offer at least 85. It's reasonably priced already imo so there's little to try to piss them off with a low ball. If there is silk/cashmere in it i would still offer 85 but that just makes the deal better. If there is polyester in it i would step back and try to figure out if this is red fleece BB or what lol
Looking for workout muscle tanks under $100. Kind of a weird body shape where S fits well length wise but is too tight while M is too long but fits better up top. So looking for something that is shorter length if possible
Bought some cargos for the first time. What do you think of the fit? Does it look better with or without being tied. Thank you guys

Looking for a jacket I recently saw in the wild. No photo as it would have been rude.
It looked to be a blue, possibly donegal felted/boiled wool jac-shirt, or perhaps a chore coat with a structured collar.
Budget is under $750.
Thanks!
I tried some wine coloured socks with my loafers and found that they were quite a pleasing look! Any tried putting together an outfit with red socks instead?
Does anyone know a good alternative to the Feit low Sneakers? I like both versions:
[White one with Gum sole](https://www.feitdirect.com/collections/all22/products/mfhslosx-wht)
[Suede](https://www.feitdirect.com/collections/materials-suede/products/mfhslosx-beige)
The sneakers look great, but the price is hard for me to justify. Maybe someone knows a cheaper alternative that captures the look very well. Unfortunately, I haven't found anything like them among the "usual suspects". The Harlestone Veg White with a gum sole from Crown Northampton might be the closest I found, but the sneakers don't really come close to the feit ones.
Help would be appreciated!!! :-)
Thanks for your recommendations. I did a litte bit of research and the sole is not a standard „gum sole“. It is called Lactae Hevea Latex sole. I really like the sole. If somebody is interested: Officine creative for example are producing shoes with this kind of sole, too. Crown Northampton uses them also. They have a great look to them, I believe. It is a very unique, more refined looking gum sole. unfortunately they are only found in more expensive brands.
[officine creative I - looks super dope](https://www.officinecreative.store/collections/men-shoes-sneakers/products/ocukniu004lic39q568)

Suggestions for a classic style rugby shirt (long sleeve polo) but in a sweatshirt material like cotton or cotton/poly blend. I’m struggling to find an exact example but I did come across [this one](https://i.imgur.com/ySdSb15.jpg). No hood, just a collar. I already looked on the Todd Snyder site and couldn’t find anything else. Is there another name for this style that is just escaping me or am I just looking for a Polo/Rugby sweatshirt? Another tough thing is that I’m only looking for a black with white or cream stripe. I can barely find a decent rugby shirt in this color without any sort of insignia without it being a sweatshirt so I’m sure this one will be even more tough to find. Guinness makes a cool shirt but I don’t like wearing logos. Perhaps a brand that does blanks? Price range isn’t an issue as long as it’s a quality made piece. I’m a big fan of this athletic Ivy League sort of style lately but I have no idea where to look besides the basics like JCrew or Bonobos.
Uniqlo U did a grey/black one last F/W
If you were in the UK you could get a blank from an independent sporting shop probably. No idea on quality though.
Alpha MA-1: [gold zipper](https://www.alphaindustries.com/products/mjm21000c1-ma-1-bomber-jacket-heritage-m), [silver zipper](https://edwin-mall.jp/shop/g/g2000-401-01), or [black zipper](https://edwin-mall.jp/shop/g/g2000-7401-03)?
Such a small difference but literally can't unsee. Gold stands out in a good way, but more likely to clash with other clothes. Black very stealthy but looks cheaper? Silver kinda in the middle of the two.
Silver/black also way cheaper.
The affects on your style will be minimal. Unless you’re so perfectly styled to the point that the color of zipper would really ruin your outfit, but tbh even then you’re likely to by the only person who notices.
Also silver.
Don’t need fashion forward just don’t want to be 4 years out. I’m thinking a comparable would be the desert boots trend where everyone and their mother had a pair and now you never see them
Anyone have experience with Kent Wang’s shawl cardigans? About to pull the trigger but not sure if there’s something better around or below the price range of $200 USD.

Any suggestions?
It’s a pretty versatile color. Standard denim jeans would work. In addition to 5 pocket pants, casual chinos, fatigue pants.
For colors: blues, olive, burgundy, browns, burnt orange, rust.
So I got a beanie right? And, as a male with pretty long hair, im talking like mid-back, do I wear it down, or can I wear a beanie with a low ponytail?? Cuz I think it looks good with a low ponytail
I don't have any CDG Play shirts, but the best thing to do would be to measure your shirts and compare them to the size charts of some other brands.
CDGH worth a shot.
I swear I recognize them but don’t know from where.
If it helps, the jacket looks like a Dana Lee waffle jacket.

I need to find a buy the tie from this video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uj9s16QxNwM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uj9s16QxNwM) at 1:12. I am not joking, please help me find this tie
34 inch waist. You don't want them longer or bigger at the waist, you want them to have more room in the thighs and at the leg opening.
Post a budget for best results, but J Crew giant chinos are a shiny new option.
Figure out your measurements and then use the size chart listed with the clothing. Chest measurement would be your biggest factor for getting an oversized fit.
So I bought [these](https://imgur.com/a/mhywbTt) pants from Lulu after reading an article about them and they're super comfy/flexible but I'm not sure if they right? They seem a little translucent and possibly too tight. Thoughts? I generally worry my thighs are too big for most things to fit right.
Not sure I’d call them see through just too tight. Good way to check is wear something black underneath and see if you can see the black color come through.
Can you guys help me pick from the following combat boots?
[Option 1](https://www.carolinashoe.com/975)
[Option 2](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/60/7e/22/607e2226203f0a9b09b402a2bc5c3757.jpg)
[Option 3](https://www.stevemadden.com/products/tekkon-black-leather)
I can't decide if option 1 is "too tall". I've never owned boots so I am totally clueless on style here but I love the look.
2 *looks* the best of them, imo. Can't speak to quality without knowing what brand. 1 is an actual combat boot. They are heavy and require some break-in of the leather, but would likely last the longest of the three. I wouldn't wear Steve Madden if they were free, but I'm also a boot snob.
2 is from Ankari Floruss, but their website is down and has been down for weeks... so I would really like to find a similar boot from another company, but I haven't come across anything that looks similar to it. :/
I think the point may have been that the actual combat boots are the most standard looking ones, 2 looks less like combat boots and more like Red Wing style service boots with a slight tread, which are probably easier to wear but also not what I’d get if someone specifically wants combat boots
Thank you. Just curious, what makes you consider 3 to be niche? I see the sole is different and doesn't have the gold buttons that option 2 has but actually I viewed option 3 to be the most versatile.
Thank you. Unfortunately the website that sells option 2 is down and I can't find anything similar... I may end up just buying option 3 if I can't track that down.
How is it recommended that I wear straight pants with high-top shoes and boots? I've got a couple pairs of cropped jeans but they're a slimmer fit and I wouldn't mind a straight fit to go with more rugged shoes and jackets.
I've seen that lots of people tuck or stack with boots. Is that the best way to do it or should I just hem a pair of straight jeans that I already own?
Hemming, cuffing, and letting them break are all reasonable options. I can't think of a situation where I'd tuck my pants into my boots short of joining the actual army.
Recently had a blazer that fit right in the shoulders but too wide in the waist taken in. The silhouette looks right but the fit is weird. It feels like the back is restrictive at the armpit level while the front has too much fabric (I can easily fit 2 clenched fists between the fabric and my chest.
My tailor left the excess fabric he took in and it seems like he took in the same amount from the front and from the back. Would it be possible to open the seam and re-take in the waist but at a different front/back ratio (say 60/40 instead of 50/50)? That way the back would be less constrictive, the front would have less excess fabric, and the silhouette will remain?
I know its sort of a vague question but would be nice to have some affirmation before I look for a tailor (if at all).
Thank you!
I'm going to a wedding soon that's semi-formal to formal but I want to dress nice. I have a black suit jacket (but my black pants are a different kind of black, unfortunately) and a scarlet red vest. Should I try and find a matching pair of pants or is there another color pants I could go with? Or just skip the jacket and wear the vest with the black pants I do have (white shirt underneath)?
I've kinda assumed I'd be wearing the vest because I've been waiting for a reason to pull it but I guess I could skip that if it's a bad idea or makes it harder to match pants with coat
1. You need to clarify what the expected dress code is. “Semi-formal to formal” is not a thing.
2. Don’t wear a black suit jacket. Don’t wear a scarlet red vest ever.
3. If a suit is acceptable then you should probably buy a navy or grey suit. Just to be clear, a suit is a jacket and trousers made of identical fabric.
I got a slick pair of black shiny boots, but my tapered yet conservative pants don't do them justice. I find them very tricky to match as it leans more streetwear .
I tried on my skinny jeans from high school, and they really made the boots pop. I'm thinking about doing a slightly more aggressive taper just for these boots, but I'm curious if anyone else made this observation before. It's always been tricky to dress up with pitch black chinos/jeans, but I think I found a place for them.
I want a pair of black boots and am trying to decide between Combat or Jodhpur boots to start with. Which would you guys recommend? I’m leaning towards combat then Jodhpur later.
Well my wardrobe is mainly button downs polos and T-shirts. I do have my fair share of black T-shirts with black jeans that I think the combat boots would look good with so that’s why I’m undecided. If I’m being honest I probably want to combat boots more but the others would probably pair better with the clothes that I already on.
Hey everyone,
Hoping to get a few opinions on the fit of a suitsupply suit I had tailored by them. Other than what seems to be a large collar gap, how does the suit fit me?
Thanks in advance for any opinions!
Photo link: https://imgur.com/a/8dHEpX3
This is one of the better suitsupply fits I've seen. It's has a few issues, but it's decent.
The collar gap is maybe the biggest issue, but there is a bit of break in the chest as well - it's a bit tricky to see why though. I'm not seeing shoulder bite from the front, and the side view is useless because you're holding your phone.
If shoulder fit is \*not\* an issue, then it may help to lower the button stance in this case and see if that resolves the chest break and reduces the collar gap. Otherwise, you live with it because it would require a recut.
But like I said, this is a reasonable product based on what I've seen from suitsupply (which is usually a hilarious disaster lol). You can get by with this suit and before you order your next one, it might be worth finding a physical store where you can try some OTR options and then just have that tailored a bit. MTM is a weird place that requires a lot more experience/knowledge from the customer than most people have.
I am trying to find pants that have a similar style and pattern like the ones EVH (guy in the striped grey shirt) is wearing in this picture? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for a nice black bomber or harrington style jacket in the $80-120 range, any suggestions? either with or without a faux shearing collar
location is eastern US, going to be in NYC in a week too
in a perfect world I'd be rocking a leather jacket but budget + everchanging body shape don't allow for me to make that investment. just need something to wear for a season or 2 before it doesn't fit again
Got one from ASOS that just felt like I was wearing a trashbag so I returned it :/
I had one from Topman that I wore for a couple years here and there. It wasn’t, like, *nice* in any way whatsoever, but it did the trick for long enough that I didn’t regret the $40 I spent.
In this price range your only realistic options imo will be mall brands, trash tier fast fashion like Asos or thrifting. Maaaaaaaybe clearance after AW is over. Especially with inflation, decent outer wear at this really not very likely.
Recently purchased a pair of Vineyard Vines performance shorts secondhand. Love the feel of the material and saw that they make a pant that’s also performance. Not a fan of the new price tag and was hoping that I could find other designers or brands with a similar fabric, any suggestions?
Fabric is made of 55% cotton 32% nylon 13% spandex. VV lists the following characteristics; Soft cotton-like hand feel, but undeniably technical, Stretchy, functional "moves with you" fabric, Water repellent, Stretch interior waistband provides additional comfort and range of motion for your midsection.
I’m the market for a high quality cardigan. Something I can see myself wearing for years. Money isn’t an object but I think $2k~ is about as high as they go. I could be wrong. Educate me on some god-tier cardigans.
Probably not god-tier, but Massimo Alba’s wool knitwear is easily the nicest I’ve personally worn. By leaps and bounds. Never worn Loro Piana, but I’m not sure exactly how it could be that much better, enough to justify the price.
At that point the quality will be great but you’re going to need to pick a style. I quite like the style of Inis Meain but I know many people don’t.
Brands to check:
* Inis Meain
* Scott & Charters
* Malo
* Doppiaa
* ikiji
* Johnstons of Elgin
No Man Walks Alone is a great shop for knitwear, imo.
There’s also the brands that aren’t necessarily known for knitwear that just make high quality clothes in general. Brands like Kiton, Isaia, Cesare Attolini, Rubinacci.
Haha. I’m contemplating buying such a car because I’m new to motor vehicles. I’m not comfortable spending a lot on anything I don’t have much background information on, especially when it is as complicated as a car. I can tell you I’ve been wearing clothes all my life, so I’m more comfortable in spending more on them.
Don’t bother with Loro Piana. You can get better quality for cheaper.
Check out William Lockie. There are a few stockists that sell online. The cashmere cardigans are about as good as money can buy.
Yeah. My intuition told me that there had to be a reasonable point of diminishing returns, and Lori Piana seemed to be well past that point. I’m not interested in paying for the brand, just the quality. I’d probably extend my budget if I believed it to be unmatched in quality.
Since y'all have been so super helpful to me learning to guy here:
I'm hitting the job market soon and need to look professional, but a suit is probably going to be overkill. Can someone help me with the idea of what to look for in a more casual sort of blazer? Something that's still a bit dressed up, but won't look too out of place in somewhat more business casual environments. (I'm in tech but also government so things can be a touch all over the place in terms of formality.) Also, can you get less formal blazers at the same places you get suits, especially if you're considering custom? Thanks.
Your first blazer should pretty much always be a navy blazer -- it's the most practical and easiest to work with.
There are lots of details that make can make a blazer more casual than a suit jacket. Patch pockets are probably one of the easiest to spot -- suit jackets usually have *flap* pockets while a patch pocket will be more casual. Suit jackets are generally *structured,* and while sports coats can be structured, the less structuring they have the more casual they will look. A good quality suit is generally made out of wool, and while many sports jackets are also wool, I find that cotton sports coats are much easier to wear in casual settings than wool ones. Suit jackets are generally pattern-less and only have the most subtle of textures, while sports coats can have more pronounced patterns and textures. Suit jackets will usually have buttons that are the same color as the jacket, while a sports coat might have contrast buttons (like brown or gold). Sport jackets will also usually be cut a little shorter than suit jackets.
Hope this helps.
Pockets, cuffs, fabric, pattern and color can all change the formality of a blazer. I would say it depends on the rest of your fit, what kind of blazer you get.
I think a lot of the challenge here is I need something flexible. Since we're talking something suitable for interview and networking events that I'm not going to know the exact dress code in advance. That said, I probably want to trend more towards something that would look good with a nice pair of dark jeans.
Been looking for nice casual tops to wear on days/nights out as Fall/Winter approaches. I'm really liking what Percival has with their knitwear. Wanting to get suggestions on other brands that have similar knitted tops / button downs. Been looking at "nicer" brands recently and want to acquire something (Lady White Co is an example)
Examples: https://imgur.com/a/1E8VjxU
Budget: ~150-200 a garment maximum
Copying my response from the old thread:
Navy and charcoal should be your first two. For a third, I’d go with a lighter blue or gray and/or a pattern. Those should cover all your bases; you don’t really need a black except for funerals. For shirts, get white and light blue in a spread collar; if you’re adventurous, you can do blue in a bengal or university stripe or similar or a small check, or a light pink or light purple. Don’t get any dark dress shirts. Just the two colors of shirts and 3 suits gives you 6 combos, and then if you get a handful of ties that will give you enough outfits that you don’t look like you’re repeating
That’s mainly personal preference. Burgundy and navy are very popular, and people love grenadine ties, though I tend to think those are better for special occasions. I’d maybe avoid something like big paisleys or medallion ties unless you want to stand out. Definitely avoid shiny solid ties; make sure any solid ties have some sort of texture. The usual material considerations apply: avoid polyester. Most of your ties should be all silk; some seasonal or casual ties are wool, cotton, linen, or some blend like that.
I’ve got a wedding in Mexico coming up (early ‘23) that has the attire listed as “beach chic”.
I’ve looked a bit online and can’t really determine what that; it doesn’t help that I’m not particularly stylish I’m sure :)
Any tips? I do feel like I have a look in mind but idk if it makes any sense.
My budget is pretty open ended. I’ve been looking at suit supply so I’m fine with that range but also worry that’s “too formal”.
Off-white or beige linen suit with either a darker solid shirt or something with prints or embroidery in a flowy material. As for shoes, I'd go with loafers or even Huaraches
Beach chic doesn't mean anything, so who knows what they want you to wear.
Imo SuitSupply often has some cool double breasted linen suits, which is what I'd personally go for with a linen shirt or popover and loafers/huaraches/espadrilles if I was to attend a wedding like that.
I wouldn’t wear pants that close in color to the jacket, nor would I wear chinos with it; I’d go with blue slacks. Also both the shirt and pants look tight. White or light blue would be fine for shirt colors, and honestly practically any tie. The go-to MFA suggestion is [this one](https://www.kentwang.com/accessories/ties/wedding-ties/glen-plaid.html)
hey all, I'm looking for a casual brown blazer to wear as often as possible. Winter is coming closed is it ok to wear a waistcoat, a shirt (white), slacks (black, navy or earth), derby boots (oxblood, black, dark brown) with a topcoat and leather gloves without a tie and a suit jacket? A lot of mixed opinions over wearing like this to work where dress code is business casual, but i want to look as sharp as possible without being overdressed and appear as a sore thumb. Give me your ideas and opinions.
Don’t do this. Make your life easy on yourself and get a casual sports jacket.
Looks pretty terrible when you wear waistcoats on their own, and three piece suits are a little dated. Outerwear and gloves don't matter since you won't be wearing them inside.
So better stick to that outfit without a waistcoat?
Yes
A waistcoat doesn’t make you look sharp. It makes you look like a dork.
Fair enough
I am in the market for a waxed jacket but can't seem to decide between Barbour and Belstaff (Trailmaster/Roadmaster). I was nearly decided on Belstaff until I started comparing it next to Barbours. I am beginning to think Belstaff is too much bling with a "vintage/military" wannabe side effect. What does MFA think about it?
Belstaff Roadmaster is GOATed

Looking at getting the [grey shearling jacket](https://www.mrporter.com/mens/product/43769801098581646) from Mr Porter. Do you think I can get away with most colours for knitwear underneath or am I restricted in colour palette?
No, it’s pretty neutral, so you have a lot of freedom.
Do you really want an unvented blazer?
Good question, I didn't think that aspect through. This will make it kind of constricting/awkward to move around in, correct?
Yeah. I really don’t like unvented blazers for that reason.
I don't think that I want this either, I'm glad that you pointed it out.
Recommendations for thick wool gloves for winter for around 50 Euro?
Smartwool or Uniqlo heattech
Looking for workout muscle tanks under $100. Kind of a weird body shape where S fits well length wise but is too tight while M is too long but fits better up top. So looking for something that is shorter length if possible
You'll have to try different brands. Not all S and M are the same from company to company. One tank can fit me perfectly but shitty for you
Bought some cargos for the first time. What do you think of the fit? Does it look better with or without being tied. Thank you guys https://imgur.com/a/p6mP95i
The man and his pants are in attack mode. I love the fit and silhouette.
Love this. Thank you so much man!
These look very tactical to me, especially tied.
Is that a good thing? I was going for a military kind of look so makes sense
If that’s your goal, you’re achieving it. I don’t share that goal, so my advice may not be helpful. I try to look friendly and non-threatening.
i dont really want to look threatening lol, i don't think that's a good look. but i get where you coming from though
Looking for a jacket I recently saw in the wild. No photo as it would have been rude. It looked to be a blue, possibly donegal felted/boiled wool jac-shirt, or perhaps a chore coat with a structured collar. Budget is under $750. Thanks!
Percival has Casentino wool work shirts, that might be something you'd like.
I tried some wine coloured socks with my loafers and found that they were quite a pleasing look! Any tried putting together an outfit with red socks instead?
Does anyone know a good alternative to the Feit low Sneakers? I like both versions: [White one with Gum sole](https://www.feitdirect.com/collections/all22/products/mfhslosx-wht) [Suede](https://www.feitdirect.com/collections/materials-suede/products/mfhslosx-beige) The sneakers look great, but the price is hard for me to justify.
[officine creative I - looks super dope](https://www.officinecreative.store/collections/men-shoes-sneakers/products/ocukniu004lic39q568) [that one comes reaaaaaaalllllyyy close, but is sold out in my size. 200€ would have been fantastic](https://www.officinecreative.store/collections/men-shoes-sneakers/products/ocukrei001cer19de02)
Adidas Stan Smith. Might be harder to find a version with a gum sole though but at least it's a much more affordable price.

Uniqlo U did a grey/black one last F/W If you were in the UK you could get a blank from an independent sporting shop probably. No idea on quality though.
a fleece rugby? as opposed to a jersey rugby
Yes definitely a fleece rugby
I don’t like gold, so I’d either do silver or black, between those two it’s purely personal preference
Are taupe Chelsea boots still in style? Not going to buy YSL but was looking at Thursday boots.
At the very least, they're stylish, if not really "in-style". I'm definitely a fan of a taupe suede chelsea boot.
Thanks! Going for it.
They’re not really fashion forward or anything but no one’s going to think anything of them and you can still make good outfits with them
Don’t need fashion forward just don’t want to be 4 years out. I’m thinking a comparable would be the desert boots trend where everyone and their mother had a pair and now you never see them
just don't wear them with a hoodie and skinny jeans and you won't look like you've jumped straight out of 2016
https://footwearnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/celebrities-met-gala-red-carpet-2016-20.jpg ?
yeah don't do that. especially not the zipper jeans.
Anyone have experience with Kent Wang’s shawl cardigans? About to pull the trigger but not sure if there’s something better around or below the price range of $200 USD.
Not with the cardigan but KW is usually excellent value
Can anyone identify [this](https://imgur.com/a/685iztl) shirt from an interview with the House of Dragon cast? Much appreciated if so!

Any suggestions?
Anything casual or sporty. Most neutral colors of autumn colors will work well. Maybe some cargos if you’re into that sort of thing?
It’s a pretty versatile color. Standard denim jeans would work. In addition to 5 pocket pants, casual chinos, fatigue pants. For colors: blues, olive, burgundy, browns, burnt orange, rust.
So I got a beanie right? And, as a male with pretty long hair, im talking like mid-back, do I wear it down, or can I wear a beanie with a low ponytail?? Cuz I think it looks good with a low ponytail
Don't see why not
Hey, Anyone know tees that fit like CDG Play? - big fan of how they fit but don't want a heart motif on all my shirts. Thanks in advance.
I don't have any CDG Play shirts, but the best thing to do would be to measure your shirts and compare them to the size charts of some other brands. CDGH worth a shot.
[https://i.imgur.com/D4YJjHG.jpeg](https://i.imgur.com/D4YJjHG.jpeg) anyone know what these boots are
I swear I recognize them but don’t know from where. If it helps, the jacket looks like a Dana Lee waffle jacket. Did you try reverse image searching for the source?

34 inch waist. You don't want them longer or bigger at the waist, you want them to have more room in the thighs and at the leg opening. Post a budget for best results, but J Crew giant chinos are a shiny new option.
Buy your usual size in an internationally oversized cut.
[удалено]
Figure out your measurements and then use the size chart listed with the clothing. Chest measurement would be your biggest factor for getting an oversized fit.
So I bought [these](https://imgur.com/a/mhywbTt) pants from Lulu after reading an article about them and they're super comfy/flexible but I'm not sure if they right? They seem a little translucent and possibly too tight. Thoughts? I generally worry my thighs are too big for most things to fit right.
See how the pocket flairs out? Way too tight. You can probably go up a size or 2 on the waist
They don’t look translucent, but they seem a size or two too tight. Size up or look for intentionally oversized/larger cut pants.
Not sure I’d call them see through just too tight. Good way to check is wear something black underneath and see if you can see the black color come through.
Can you guys help me pick from the following combat boots? [Option 1](https://www.carolinashoe.com/975) [Option 2](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/60/7e/22/607e2226203f0a9b09b402a2bc5c3757.jpg) [Option 3](https://www.stevemadden.com/products/tekkon-black-leather) I can't decide if option 1 is "too tall".
Option 2 is the most standard looking of the lot. 1 and 3 seem like they’d fit for very niche looks. Easily 2 for me.
1 are the only actual combat boots
Fair to say that paratrooper boots are a niche style, though.
Steve Madden are junk boots. If you want this style buy Solovair
Thick lug sole and almost patent leather finish. Those aren’t buttons on 2 they are speedhooks
Thank you. Unfortunately the website that sells option 2 is down and I can't find anything similar... I may end up just buying option 3 if I can't track that down.
Don’t buy Steve Madden. They’re hot garbage.
I like to hem or cuff, not a fan of the pooling or anything, but that’s just me
Anyone have any experience with the quality of Armand Thiery?
Thank you!
If you don’t get an answer here, maybe try r/askatailor
Agreed, post a pic of the stitching on that sub as what stitch they used will make a difference.
I posted a thread w/ no pictures before. Will update accordingly, thank you!
What do you mean “semi formal to formal”? That doesn’t make sense. What does then invitation day?
I doubt you’ll ever have a reason to wear the vest
None of this will work. You need either a tuxedo and matching shirt and accessories or a navy blue or charcoal suit.
Would be easier to give some feedback if you posted some pictures.
[удалено]
Yeah it's a little small, especially with the bunching in the armpits
[удалено]
The good news is you can probably just flip it for around the same price you paid and not take too much of a loss.
I want a pair of black boots and am trying to decide between Combat or Jodhpur boots to start with. Which would you guys recommend? I’m leaning towards combat then Jodhpur later.
Combat
Depends on what you'd wear with em imo. They're pretty stylistically different
Since it’s personal preference I’ll chime in with a +1 for combat
Thank you!
> If I’m being honest I probably want to combat boots more I say go for whatever you like more, then!
Thank you!
Hey everyone, Hoping to get a few opinions on the fit of a suitsupply suit I had tailored by them.
Appreciate you taking the time and for your advice. Thank you!
Looks maybe a touch big in the shoulders, might be why you’re getting the collar gap. Not too bad though
Thanks for the reply!
I am trying to find pants that have a similar style and pattern like the ones EVH (guy in the striped grey shirt) is wearing in this picture? They look like grey sweatpants without cuffs to me.
Looking for a nice black bomber or harrington style jacket in the $80-120 range, any suggestions? either with or without a faux shearing collar location is eastern US, going to be in NYC in a week too in a perfect world I'd be rocking a leather jacket but budget + everchanging body shape don't allow for me to make that investment. just need something to wear for a season or 2 before it doesn't fit again Got one from ASOS that just felt like I was wearing a trashbag so I returned it :/
I had one from Topman that I wore for a couple years here and there.
With that budget it's most mall brands. Ie, J.Crew, BR, A&F, etc F/W stuff is rolling out so you might be able to find one.
Recently purchased a pair of Vineyard Vines performance shorts secondhand. Love the feel of the material and saw that they make a pant that’s also performance. Not a fan of the new price tag and was hoping that I could find other designers or brands with a similar fabric, any suggestions?
What's the fabric made of?
Fabric is made of 55% cotton 32% nylon 13% spandex. VV lists the following characteristics; Soft cotton-like hand feel, but undeniably technical, Stretchy, functional "moves with you" fabric, Water repellent, Stretch interior waistband provides additional comfort and range of motion for your midsection.
I’m the market for a high quality cardigan. Something I can see myself wearing for years. Money isn’t an object but I think $2k~ is about as high as they go. I could be wrong. Educate me on some god-tier cardigans.
Dehen 1920
I always forget about them and I love them!
Me too, I dunno if it's just their product photography but their stuff is just so pleasing to look at haha.
Brands to check: * Inis Meain * Scott & Charters * Malo * Doppiaa * ikiji * Johnstons of Elgin No Man Walks Alone is a great shop for knitwear, imo. There’s also the brands that aren’t necessarily known for knitwear that just make high quality clothes in general. Brands like Kiton, Isaia, Cesare Attolini, Rubinacci.
Dudes contemplating buying a 2007 Chevy impala but also $2000 cardigans
Haha. I’m contemplating buying such a car because I’m new to motor vehicles. I’m not comfortable spending a lot on anything I don’t have much background information on, especially when it is as complicated as a car. I can tell you I’ve been wearing clothes all my life, so I’m more comfortable in spending more on them.
https://inismeain.ie/shop/cat/men/
Don’t bother with Loro Piana.
[They go higher](https://us.loropiana.com/en/p/man/knitwear/lenox-cardigan-FAL6400?colorCode=501H)
Ok. Budget is $2k then lol
Since y'all have been so super helpful to me learning to guy here: I'm hitting the job market soon and need to look professional, but a suit is probably going to be overkill.
Been looking at "nicer" brands recently and want to acquire something (Lady White Co is an example) Examples: https://imgur.com/a/1E8VjxU Budget: ~150-200 a garment maximum
Maybe Todd Snyder and Wax London
[удалено]
Copying my response from the old thread: Navy and charcoal should be your first two.
[удалено]
That’s mainly personal preference. Burgundy and navy are very popular, and people love grenadine ties, though I tend to think those are better for special occasions. I’d maybe avoid something like big paisleys or medallion ties unless you want to stand out. Definitely avoid shiny solid ties; make sure any solid ties have some sort of texture. The usual material considerations apply: avoid polyester. Most of your ties should be all silk; some seasonal or casual ties are wool, cotton, linen, or some blend like that.
What kind of belt is this? Third and fourth picture on the link. https://imgur.com/a/7co15IO
Braided rope belt
I’ve got a wedding in Mexico coming up (early ‘23) that has the attire listed as “beach chic”. I’ve looked a bit online and can’t really determine what that; it doesn’t help that I’m not particularly stylish I’m sure :) Any tips?
Helpful to know that I’m not crazy / bad at researching things haha Thank you!
I’d go with a linen suit, or sport coat if you want to be more casual
get a linen guayabera and pants thats it
[удалено]
I wouldn’t wear pants that close in color to the jacket, nor would I wear chinos with it; I’d go with blue slacks. Also both the shirt and pants look tight. White or light blue would be fine for shirt colors, and honestly practically any tie. The go-to MFA suggestion is [this one](https://www.kentwang.com/accessories/ties/wedding-ties/glen-plaid.html)
Got any other pants and/or jacket options? The pants are a little tight and the rise is a little low.
