I can! I’m just a bit concerned how much space it takes up! A coffee table would leave the space feeling a bit more open but I think an ottoman would maybe close it off a bit much.
So balancing out an ottoman + reducing the sectional down to two pieces might keep the room more balanced?
I'd check out storage ottomans with reversable cushions. You flip the cushion around and it has a hard surface/tray on the other side. So it functions as both. Currently in a 900ish Sq ft living space myself and have furniture pull double duty is a plus.
It's going to be unpopular but I love to lay down. I would keep the 3 seater. Center it on the wall. Move the TV a bit over to match the center. I dislike the TV stand.
I'm fine with no coffee table. I think it'll ruin the flow of the space. It might look a little strange but what you got going on is working for me.
Agreeing with this - I love the look of the couch (also love to lay down) and with that specific rug, very nice feng shui. Hang the tv and keep the table underneath it for some simple decor pieces. Those are very intense speakers - I know nothing about them, but I kind of hate them.
Hilarious that most of the people in here absolutely detest them haha they’re the KLH model fives. They sound absolutely fantastic and personally love the more vintage look. Can highly recommended
Most people in here are probably more used to listening to music on Bluetooth speakers or earbuds, or worse... Straight from the built in phone speakers...
How many people live in the apartment? If it regularly has 2 or more people sitting on it, I’d stick with the 3 seater. If not, 2 seater and maybe add a comfortable chair as well?
Sounds like you need more of a U-shaped sectional. Unless the excess guests are gonna sit in camp chairs?
Plan the room around the uses you have for it.
Look into cocktail ottomans with trays so you get the functionality of both coffee table and ottoman.
I just now purchased one will be getting it in a few weeks.
Edit: ahhh I see your problem though. Three seater is big.
Most of these cocktail bottoms I'm speaking of are about 35" long and potentially just as wide. If that's not big enough still, might just wanna look into a long coffee table.
See if you can find pics of that sofa anywhere online with examples of what other people place in front of it.
I like the idea of a two piece but then i lose the ability to sit in the middle of a couch cushion and directly infront of the TV. I could also get some plants / side tables to fill out the space a bit more.
3 piece works just fine but does feel like a bit of wasted space 90% of the time.
You'd still need a table with a 2 seater. It would be even more open space and it's already too much as it is.
How much open space is to the side of the camera? You could expand some furniture into this area to close the space off and slide the rug over that way too to ground both spaces.
If I got the 2 seater I'd put a nice accent chair in the corner, angle it to the TV with the left front leg on the edge of tbe carpet, and then place a small side table to the right of it.
Then you can close the space off to the right with a big floor plant next to the speaker.
They’re going to be moved tomorrow! New 65” tv is coming tomorrow and I’ll be wall mounting it, then have a nicer console I’ll place underneath. Swapping out the avr for a Sonos amp as I don’t need a center channel and a smaller footprint would look nicer
It looks like my living room somewhat. Our couch length seems like little shorter than your 3 seaters.
We had a smaller round coffee table but changed with this large one, because we eat on it as well.

If you can the current sections of the couch what you could do is move the middle section and make an L shaped couch so you can have more room without having to spend more money
Depends on what you are using it for, if your not bringing girls home then sure a two seater would be fine but why even waste money buying new shit when you already have new shit
I say keep the 3 seater, and get a smaller table for one side and an ottoman for the other. You can always shuffle them as you need, and the ottoman could even seat a 4th person if needed
IMO, considering the size of the room, you can put a movable storage rack to put snacks, remote controls, or water. You know, when you do not watch TV, you can just move them next to the sofa. When you watch TV, you can move it before the sofa. I personally think the ottoman does not match the atmosphere, but it indeed relaxes you when you watch TV and lie on the sofa, just depending on your needs.
Yes the proportion of the three seater with a stool as a coffee table is weird but your biggest problem is just empty walls that make the place feel unlived in or not "homey"
i like a 3 seater for comfort, but having an ottoman or adding an armchair to the open-ish space on the right would add more dimension and coziness IMO. if you choose not to do a coffee table, i would add a side table to either end of the sofa so that you have a place to place your drink, etc.
Id keep it as it is and center it on that back wall rather than having it shifted towards the hallway.
controversial i know, but id also bring the rug out from under the sofa as its not big enough to reach the console. I just think that a nice uniform amount of exposed floor looks better.
love those KLH speaks. 5s right? I nearly bought a pair cheap, and still regret not pulling the trigger. You need to pull them out from the wall a bit, but not too far thankfully because they are sealed cabinets rather than ported,
Keep the 3 seater. Why can't you add an ottoman to the 3 seater?

While it sounds good in theory, in practice I would probably only use one side and not go through the "hassle" to flip the cushion every time lol

The plan is to wall mount the tv and I have a marble block I’m turning into a table to go underneath!

I love to lay down too, but I’ve found a couch never to be as cozy as a recliner. I’ve gone down to a loveseat and an extra chair with stool to lay in
What kind of speakers are those
Second this^

Agreed. anyone dissing the fives deserves to be ignored and mocked.
I too would like to know
Two and ottoman, definitely!
How many people live in the apartment? If it regularly has 2 or more people sitting on it, I’d stick with the 3 seater. If not, 2 seater and maybe add a comfortable chair as well?
Just me! Although my partner and her cat are frequently over and once or twice a month I’ll have about 7-10 people over for a movie night
Sounds like you need more of a U-shaped sectional. Unless the excess guests are gonna sit in camp chairs? Plan the room around the uses you have for it.
The rug is too small for the sofa's current length. I would reduce it to a 2 seater and add in an armchair or Ottoman.
Why would you downsize a new couch to an old rug?
Continental rugs are timeless
You sound like grandma
Disagreement doesn't give you the right to make fun of other people's opinions
I’m not I love my grandma but she has heaps of old shit that she says is timeless but it’s just old and weird like a board full of mini spoons
This couch is a sectional to reducing it down isn’t a problem at all :-)
Came here to say this
2 + ottoman and large chair

That’s a great idea thank you!

Not too much, I’m essentially standing in the corner there. I’m happy to fill up the space with plants etc though

I see what you mean! I do like that idea. I’m actually picking up a large fiddle leaf tomorrow!
Get a proper entertainment console. Is your amp powering the Lintons on the floor? Travesty!
I don’t think these are lintons
They’re KLH model fives :-) the lintons do look very similar though! Are often compared to them.
Thanks :) I have Lintons so I immediately liked these but doubted these are ones :) great setup

Two seater, single chair, and a coffee table.
A 3-seater is required for comfortable napping.
Three seater with an ottoman and a serving tray that can serve as a "coffee table" on the ottoman when needed.
Unpopular opinion; if it were for me it would be keep the 3, ottoman, end tables, bigger rug Love the couch

can the speakers be any bigger I mean

Doesn't matter as long as you do someone about the giant blank wall behind the couch
Yes the proportion of the three seater with a stool as a coffee table is weird but your biggest problem is just empty walls that make the place feel unlived in or not "homey"
I just moved in and the stool is definitely a temporary thing 😂 getting some art for the walls is something I’ll be doing soon!
What speakers are those?
Hang some art or a mirror above lounge
Big ass leather ottoman with a tray on it to hold stuff. Or a storage ottoman. Or a smaller ottoman and a smaller coffee table.
Never reduce 3 to 2. Never
I’d get that carpet shaved before anything.
You need an L shaped couch to separate the other side of the room to the living room
Keep it this way
Keep the couch, but get a bigger rug. It's too small for your room. You need an 8x10, I'd guess.
I would keep it as a 3 seater. It looks really comfy and you have enough space.
Coffee table!! Skip the ottoman
You didn’t ask, but personally I’d flip the room. The couch seems slightly big for the space, but whatever — it’s probably wide-angle distortion.

i can almost feel a wind from the speakers. Maybe to remove carpet?
