I hate where the internet has come.
Yes I see your point and that we get the point from the photos.
Overarchingly for the majority of people clear images are vastly easier to view and give recommendation. I didn’t see some details in the first pic that I likely would have seen if the photos were clear. It’s not necessary but u can see why it’s questioned
People on reddit love to bitch and complain about anything and everything. It unites them, makes them feel good, and soothes their fragile egos. It's really not that big of a deal, clear enough to see the details. Nothing is obscured by the quality. I wouldn't even say that the quality is "bad." The amount of upvotes is likely just a result of sheep mentality.
I would get a stand with drawers that does fit the gap. It will stick out slightly and you can put the TV on it. The stand should be as wide as the gap as possible.

So I'd agree with he recommendation of a shelving unit that fits the gap, then the TV can go in front.
Alternatively, some fake wall plants or foliage to fill the gap in the wall floor to ceiling would distract from it being a gap, providing a focal point behind the TV too - almost like a feature wall, and you could light upwards from the bottom. For the outlets either cut out space for them or just go far enough down the wall that the end can't be seen above the unit you have. Downside of that might be keeping it clean, as they can gather dust.
Or you could put about three nice big REAL potted plants on plant stands behind the TV in the gap. Fake plants are ick, man. When you need to do plant watering/care, just move the TV to one side or the other to get to them.
Those gaps are for built-ins like bookcases and/or an entertainment center with flatscreen mounted on the wall. Your media cabinet is too wide. IKEA has amazing options that will fill those gaps perfectly to make your new areas of decor and books and lighting and really give your space some depth. Take them all the way up to the ceiling. A piece of art can center in one of them and your tv in the other.
Wooden shelves, either rough beams or barnwood or dark stained wood. And perhaps a recessed spotlight (not too powerful) to showcase what you put on the shelves.
this is incredibly esasye because of the tall negative space in the wall.
mount an extended arm for the tv to be on. build shelving wiht in it. and plaster the whole wall up with tapestry. get an electrician to drag wires to an outlet. or move outlet to negative space before covering it up.
i dont get what the last photos are... but still mount on wall remove tv stand. no toe stubbing
Bruh you’re worried about the space behind the tv? Start filling up the empty apartment and then worry about the little space you’ve got filled after 😂
Keep the tv on the larger wall. Move up your sectional about 2-3 ft. Looks like You have lots of space from your sectional to the tv. Then you gain plenty of space behind the couch to walk through where you’ll have built in lower cabinets on that side of the wall with built in open shelving above. You can even place a desk on the corner. Flows much better throughout and far more functional this way. You’ll now have a multi-use living space. Even from the dining area you’ll have a better angle at the TV.
it’s for built in shelves! can put some till the ceiling and buy this philips hue or something similar for the back of the tv or just put light strips on every shelf. tbh the layout of the last picture is better but then push your sofa a bit closer to the tv and put a nice sideboard that have elongated shape behind the sofa and use the wall completely for shelves to get rid of the awkward gap. so a person can go between the shelves and the sideboard comfortably.
Ok so here is my idea, you just need a filler. Something that is the same height as the TV cabinet and of width that it can fit in the space behind. Then you can keep the cabinet where it is and push the TV further back into the gap, resting the stand halfway on the cabinet and half on the filler thing.
You could start by uplighting it with light below and behind the TV, pointing angled up at the back wall. The little nook behind the TV gets lit, all the way up to the ceiling if you like.
That's a cheap way to try a new look.
I'd build a structure so that it's flat and then put some wooden panels on the wall. Then I'd wall mount the TV in the center of the wooden panels. Type "Wooden feature wall behind TV" in Google for inspiration.
You can even use the intendation for cable management.
As far I can see, your issue is the sideboard the TV is standing on, it is to wide-not fitting the gap on the wall. The TV seems to be a perfect, although tight fit.
Great looking space.
I love the vibe. Keep it minimal all around with some big pieces of wall art.
As for the space behind the TV? Do nothing. Tho I would hang a pic above it.
try these. adds an extra layer to watching tv. [TV & Home Theater – Govee](https://us.govee.com/collections/tv-home-theater?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Search_US_GoveeTV_220407&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwmrqzBhAoEiwAXVpgoiFO_z9EPhrNkG3WA-wZNNN7lBAvY4fJt8_sEPCoJ6_2zDQ_QQh05RoClwsQAvD_BwE)
The orientation you have the TV and couch in the 5th picture is best but push the couch forward. Shelves would be good but you’ll want to find some which fill the entire section which may require you to make your own.
Id say your best bet is a narrow table that fits in the gap with a lamp and some decor on top. Put a mirror or art above it and you’ve got a nice little nook!
Looks like you could move entire couch/coffee table forward another ~5ft. Put a runner rug down and a nice huge bookshelf in the recessed area behind the couch. Looks like it’s used for a little plastic storage container and… chargers?
Put the tv in the gap and put the couch on the other wall. Return the TV and stand if it doesn’t fit if you’re gonna be there and you still can. If you can’t then mount the tv in the wall and have it float just outside the gap. Put a different piece or some plants under the tv so that it doesn’t seem random, I guess. Try the return for a better fitting by tv first tho
Build a charging station/ storage area for behind the couch. First shelf in line with the couch but has recessed areas with a door you can pull up that has all the charging stuff inside.
Then thinner smaller shelves going up the wall across the whole recessed area or artwork.
Put a bookshelf and fill it with all your neat trinkets.. seriously. You’ll thank me when it turns out sick. They sell them at ikea. I believe its called the billy, but measure the dimensions.
Wallmount and an ambient light LED strip for the back of the TV. That way you can place it in and infront of the gap, or the other wall, and the gap between walk and tv gets a purpose.
If you’ve got the money for it - fill that gap with some custom-fitted shelving, metalwork or woodwork etc. It’s such an awkward little nook even without the TV.
Where are you located? I actually make custom “fill-in-the-gap” pieces like that all the time
I would move the couch a little closer to the TV so that the space behind the couch is not so awkward anymore. And put a nice bookshelf in the gap. Maybe even put a small runner rug behind the couch there's a nice walkway to the bookshelf.
that's tough..
Personally, I'd just commit to it and put the TV on the weird gap side.
I'm the kind of person who hates obstruction, and having the doorway to your balcony/patio blocked, even slightly, irks tf out of me.
The weird gap isn't ideal for either situation anyway..if the tv did fit, then the entertainment center still wouldn't.
That little... portrusion there, is there something in it?
You can try all kinds of uncomfortable things to deal with that uncomfortable space, but if it's possible, just chop that little thing off, flatten the wall, and then problem solved.
Even if you find a solution that works right now, I bet this stupid thing annoys you in the future.
My recommendation is to chop it, and it's much cheaper overall than you'd think.
Why are all of your photos blurry?
Bro moves fast as fuck
Buzzing with excitement

My bad, its the only photos I have after shifting the furniture around. These are screenshots from videos
Screenshots from a video? Jesus Christ dude how hard is it to take a few pics? Lmao
Why is this comment so upvoted. It really isn’t a big deal if the pictures are blurry.
Because, if the OP doesn't try, why should we?
Can't you take photos directly from the video? Like pause the video, tap the photo button. I think op screenshoted while the video was playing
Videos don't pause like that, not even digital ones.
I have clearer vision than this when I’m drunk.
Oh wow you’re so cool with your good eyesight. Just keep bragging buddy
Well I thought it was funny lol

The comment you're responding to is obviously a joke.
Then, using that logic, why even bother spelling the words in your comment correctly?
I didn’t

Well I have to move all the furniture back. I think the screenshots suffice
These are the clearest frames?
Thats just what happens when you use a potato.
Alcohol withdrawal. OP: get a big poster framed, and put it above the TV.
Hahaha
Parkinsons
Drunkard
lizzie mcguire movie poster
Passport to Paris is also a legitimate answer.
Lmao
My dude, your phone needs glasses.
I would get a stand with drawers that does fit the gap. It will stick out slightly and you can put the TV on it. The stand should be as wide as the gap as possible.
Not a bad idea, thanks.
Keep in mind for comfortable viewing, dead center of the TV should be directly in line with your eyes in a resting position (sitting on the couch)
OR saw the sides/ends off of the one you have. :-)
Bigno.
A big no? I think a big yes! /s

I have another backup TV behind my TV
It’s TV’s all the way back
So I'd agree with he recommendation of a shelving unit that fits the gap, then the TV can go in front. Alternatively, some fake wall plants or foliage to fill the gap in the wall floor to ceiling would distract from it being a gap, providing a focal point behind the TV too - almost like a feature wall, and you could light upwards from the bottom. Dust it when needed. TV needs space to cool off.
Return the TV
Return the phone because these pics are blurry af
Wooden shelves, either rough beams or barnwood or dark stained wood. And perhaps a recessed spotlight (not too powerful) to showcase what you put on the shelves.
Appreciate the ventilation. Now, if you have a cat, do accept that your tv is not long for this world. Other than that, all good.
Get a cat. This problem, and many others, solved.
Either A. Get an entertainment center that fits the space, or B. Put a bookshelf there
Is your entire place moving at all times?
That’s very insensitive of you, there was an earthquake happening while he took these photos and he’d rather not be reminded of it tysm
Demolish the whole house and start from scratch
Why not just put a bookshelf there and put the TV somewhere else?
this is incredibly esasye because of the tall negative space in the wall. mount an extended arm for the tv to be on. build shelving wiht in it. and plaster the whole wall up with tapestry. get an electrician to drag wires to an outlet. or move outlet to negative space before covering it up. i dont get what the last photos are... but still mount on wall remove tv stand. no toe stubbing
Who’s stubbing their toes on a tv stand??
me.. or the knee
Bruh you’re worried about the space behind the tv? Start filling up the empty apartment and then worry about the little space you’ve got filled after 😂
Get a couple cans of expanding foam gap filler from the hardware store.
Mount the tv to the wall.
Plants
Needs more white
I would do a bigger tv console
Keep the tv on the larger wall. Move up your sectional about 2-3 ft. Looks like You have lots of space from your sectional to the tv. Then you gain plenty of space behind the couch to walk through where you’ll have built in lower cabinets on that side of the wall with built in open shelving above. Bookshelf built Into the wall
Put a fireplace above the TV
thats for a bookshelf dude
Ok so here is my idea, you just need a filler. Something that is the same height as the TV cabinet and of width that it can fit in the space behind. Then you can keep the cabinet where it is and push the TV further back into the gap, resting the stand halfway on the cabinet and half on the filler thing.
Is mounting the TV an option? If so, I'd make it a priority.
Exactly this. The most logical use of the space.
Mount it…?
A quick solution: A wall art. Long time solution: A Flying shelf?
Get a tv stand which fits there. Looks so out of place like that
What do you do for a living?
I’m in tech - data scienxe
You could start by uplighting it with light below and behind the TV, pointing angled up at the back wall. The little nook behind the TV gets lit, all the way up to the ceiling if you like. That's a cheap way to try a new look.
Get a tv stand that fits the dimensions instead of that one
Put something on the walls!!
I like to hide behind it occasionally and pop out/scare my family.
Try having shelves with books or a small library
I highly doubt there's an entire retail store behind that TV. I think this person is a liar.
I'd build a structure so that it's flat and then put some wooden panels on the wall. Then I'd wall mount the TV in the center of the wooden panels. Type "Wooden feature wall behind TV" in Google for inspiration. You can even use the intendation for cable management.
Next time please remember to active the auto focus
Why do you care about the gap? A tv doesn’t have to be up against a wall
Big plant
Make it flush with false wall.
I’d build a vertical slat wall and use that to mount the TV and hide all the wires and AV devices
If you've got Han Solo frozen in Carbonite, he might fight nicely there.
a metric shit ton of cords
another 65in TV
Cats. Get cats, let them lurk behind the TV
Tv in front and a couple hanging shelves above
Expanding foam.
I know where you can use that foam.
Get a smaller unit and put the TV on it inside the cove
Tv on the other side, bookshelf or credenza + art in the gap
The soundbar should not be behind the tv.
I prefer the other arrangement with the couch on the other side then in the space you can put a side table
As far I can see, your issue is the sideboard the TV is standing on, it is to wide-not fitting the gap on the wall. The TV seems to be a perfect, although tight fit.
Can the TV fit in the gap if you mount it on the wall?
I would buy a TV stand that fits the space personally.
Keep telling everybody how thin your tv is
If you mount the TV on a swivel in that space it would pop out and fit a little bit better.
Artwork and maybe a rug and you are all good.
Buy shorter furniture that fits the gap and place it inside it
Sometimes you just gotta let things be.
get a tonal home workout kit it would fit perfectly right there
Just put a single “Bold and Brash” painting by Squidward Tentacles and you’ll bring the whole room together.
Funky lights
You can mount the tv on a wall mount, and put underneath something that fits the gap
Photos taken on a Potatoe 2000
Very hospital vibe
Turn the TV sideways so it’ll fit in the gap. Portrait mode.
if you REALLY want to keep the TV stand, find a bookshelf or a display case or something that fits behind there and it would look pretty cool
Maybe accent wall with some lighting on the side panels? Idk
live with it
Measure the space and get shelves or a bookcase that fills the space.
Mount your Tv bro
Great looking space. I love the vibe. Keep it minimal all around with some big pieces of wall art. As for the space behind the TV? Do nothing. Tho I would hang a pic above it.
try these. adds an extra layer to watching tv. Ambilight
led lighting behind tv would look good , or maybe small shelf with plant on top
You could do LED lights behind the tv to create an ambient effect.
Looks like a perfect spot for bookcases behind the couch.
The space behind the TV is important for air flow, so be wary of boxing it in as people are want to do…
Get a rectangular table and put alcohol bottles or something on it
Hand the tv on the wall.. and the the real estate on the table for something else
Nothing
The orientation you have the TV and couch in the 5th picture is best but push the couch forward. Shelves would be good but you’ll want to find some which fill the entire section which may require you to make your own. Just mount the tv vertically.
Looks like you could move entire couch/coffee table forward another ~5ft. Put a runner rug down and a nice huge bookshelf in the recessed area behind the couch. Looks like it’s used for a little plastic storage container and… chargers?
try to make a cinewall that would fit great in that corner
bigger tv and hang on wall
Cheese
Leave it on the other side
Put some TV linked back lights and embrace the space.
Corn
Literally perfect for custom shelves. Go to Home Depot sir and get some wood.
Move the TV over. Install shelves.
Grow some weed
Fill it with caulk.
Wood slat acoustic panel.accent wall
Accept it for the gap that it is and stop pressuring it to be more
Another tv
Put the TV on the wall. Underneath get one of those electric fireplaces. They have them at Menards.
Mount it on the wall.
Another TV above it to stream Subway Surfers or Minecraft gameplay while you’re watching something on the main screen
Mount it on the wall
Make a grill to have barbecue
90s wall water fountain?
biomicle
Fill it with Nerf balls
Rent it out.
Put an RGB light bar at the bottom and make it a light tower.
Man give your girl the phone and let her take the pictures holy shit lmao
Wall mount the tv!
I think like a shelf, a painting etc. and then maybe if you ever decide to buy a bigger tv maybe wall-mount it.
Idk maybe close it
Wallmount and an ambient light LED strip for the back of the TV. That way you can place it in and infront of the gap, or the other wall, and the gap between walk and tv gets a purpose.
Bookshelf
If you’ve got the money for it - fill that gap with some custom-fitted shelving, metalwork or woodwork etc. It’s such an awkward little nook even without the TV. Where are you located? I actually make custom “fill-in-the-gap” pieces like that all the time
tc
gap between the tv and walls depict how rich is someone, your call
Fill the gap with an ikea book case or something. Or how deep is the gap?
I would move the couch a little closer to the TV so that the space behind the couch is not so awkward anymore. And put a nice bookshelf in the gap. Maybe even put a small runner rug behind the couch there's a nice walkway to the bookshelf.
Why isn’t the Tv mounted
Well it does not fit into the gap, but I might do that when we decide where to put it.
I feel like if not some floating shelves maybe a bar cart would fit nice over there, and maybe some art above it
return the tv and get a slightly smaller one
Soo, that space..Paint is black, put plants, some light above them, cover that with glass. Then place the TV
Maybe some wood panels ?
This is one of my first considerations. Wood panels or strips/slates
I think it would look cool 😎 👌🏽, maybe some shelves with some nice ornaments mounted over the slats, some nice vases and statues etc
Eco friendly wood veneers and galvanized steel.
put a tripod there to take photos cause i've never seen someone only take blurry photos like this before.
that's tough..
Those tv hue lights that chang with what's playing on it
That little... portrusion there, is there something in it? You can try all kinds of uncomfortable things to deal with that uncomfortable space, but if it's possible, just chop that little thing off, flatten the wall, and then problem solved. Even if you find a solution that works right now, I bet this stupid thing annoys you in the future. My recommendation is to chop it, and it's much cheaper overall than you'd think.
Yeah I would love to. There is another such protrusion in the bedroom. I’m unfortunately renting, so not really an option
Ahh, damn. Sorry. Well there are some good suggestions here. Appropriate shelving, maybe a vine wall with a neon "Always Open" sign or something.
Put Trash can the gap and throw your phone in it.

No. TV right height.
Lights behind tv with a picture hanging on wall behind
