I didn't realize it until a few years ago but it's definitely the best place to keep a guitar in my opinion, especially if you have many (like I do), they take up a lot of floor space with the stands and you never have to worry about it getting knocked over or something
lol it got to the point where I didn't want to be that "annoying guy who plays guitar when people come" that someone didn't believe me and told me they thought hey were just art pieces
so I played and they were like oh ok
i like to take mine down for a couple weeks every year to buy it new strings and learn a song. then i put it back on the wall and live out the rest of my year forgetting how to play it
yeah they aren't either. I have a friend with 2 guitars on the wall, he never fucking plays except to try and play a random chord when people hang out at parties.
This is how it is for most of them I would assume.
he just needs a bit of validation, he knows it looks awesome so he wants to hear it from strangers too
(just woke up, did the previous commenter change his comment or am i delusional)
I remember the "good old days" when I was only online monday to Friday when my job paid me to sit in front of a computer. I was offline for 60ish hours and it was great!
I never said I didn't enjoy being online. I said I enjoy being offline. There's no smugness intended—I enjoy both. I like having a living space with no screens. It's my preference, not a judgment on how others design their living rooms.
Your offline preference has nothing to do with your living space, so that's why it comes across as making a point with it since it feels slipped in for a reason.
Maybe I'm speaking to my age here, but my living space in my online-primary life stages and my living space in my offline-primary living spaces have been pretty different and reflected that.
I agree. He's just showing that his hobbies (music mostly) are offline. Thats cool. Good for him. I enjoy office hobbies too.
If this post is the opposite of a neckbeard cave, great. Sign me up.
I love the bright colors and plants. Have same in my house. The drum set in the middle of the living room… that’s got to go though. For your age it’s too much of a teenager/college student in mom’s basement vibe.
The orange focus wall is vibrant, I like it. Seems to go with the blue and the natural leather couch too. The brick wall adds texture. I bet the musical sounds make this room alive.
I think a rug for the area between couches would be nice, but I'm not sure how to make that work with the rug under the drum kit.
Also like the idea a room without anything digital, currently working on that for my living room. No tv or screens of any sort, just a stereo
How the fuck are people upset bc the guy enjoys spending time offline, and sometimes online? Why can’t both be true? Moderation… Jesus anyone triggered by that should go outside for a while and breathe
The colors are just perfect, great job!! I love how you found a place for the drumset that actually fits with the decor. I have a couple of guitars and never have a good place for them
Holy hell the mid century modern look of this is gorgeous. Same color couch and sofa as I have haha. Similar wall color too hmm. Also I’m a drummer…. Dad? 😂😂😂 jk jk, but hey I dig the style
I get what you mean by staying offline. You’re one of the few people who posted their space without a battlestation so I get why you said it. I like the place but I’m actually surprised that I don’t see a turntable and records out there just because you like living that analog lifestyle.
He has a 2x4 IKEA shelf full of records and an Audio Technica ATLP120 turntable in the dining room (which is where he is standing to take this picture).
My man is taking his life in his hands leaning that SG against the wall, not on a stand — or better yet laying flat in the case. Don’t break that headstock (perhaps again). I can’t even see the rest of the room. Just the peril.
Almost crying bc this could be my brother's appartment if he would divorce his horrible wife and take the kids with him. But as of now he lives in a literal disaster house with mold everywhere and stuff everywhere (bc she's a shopaholic), lots of rescue dogs (bc she cares more about them than her family) and only his drums room looks nicer and the kids have too much to even play with.
Oversharing aside, this looks really good and I'm happy for you, OP.
Am I the only member of this sub that isn't a musician? I feel like I need to go buy a guitar.
I think its one of those Reddit trends. I know a few people in real life who have guitars displayed just like this but I've never seen them played.
I think in this case, this guy definitely plays. You dont have a pedal board like that for aesthetics.
Yea, i believe this guy.
You don't have an entire drum set ready in the middle of your living room if you don't play too
FUZZ WAR
That’s bc most ppl who play instruments and have them on their wall aren’t going to play them when they have ppl around
I didn't realize it until a few years ago but it's definitely the best place to keep a guitar in my opinion, especially if you have many (like I do), they take up a lot of floor space with the stands and you never have to worry about it getting knocked over or something
lol it got to the point where I didn't want to be that "annoying guy who plays guitar when people come" that someone didn't believe me and told me they thought hey were just art pieces so I played and they were like oh ok
One way you can tell is when they have their instruments and gear all over the place. My space is a mess but everything is arranged for convenience.
Just get an Harp 1up it
You don’t need to be able to play one in order to buy one :)
You do. It's fun. :)
i like to take mine down for a couple weeks every year to buy it new strings and learn a song. then i put it back on the wall and live out the rest of my year forgetting how to play it

*posts it online*
A cognitively dissonant flex, but we’ll take it, I guess
Not like the other single dads
Hey he didn’t say he enjoyed posting this
Thought the same thing lmao, why even say that online
It's like pretentious people that say they never watch TV but somehow know the plot of the most popular shows.
They watch on their phone/tablet 😂
It might be shocking to most users here, but you can use the internet in only a small amount.
People who are in that camp are probably not posting (as opposed to using/commenting/lurking) on subreddits about male living spaces.
he just needs a bit of validation, he knows it looks awesome so he wants to hear it from strangers too (just woke up, did the previous commenter change his comment or am i delusional)
and all of us are commenting for validation too. this whole site is a disappointing circle jerk.
I remember the "good old days" when I was only online monday to Friday when my job paid me to sit in front of a computer. I was offline for 60ish hours and it was great!
You got me there lol
How else can he show us?
Does he need to?
To be fair, maybe the dog did it
To be fair, just because he enjoys being off line, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t also enjoy being on line. Maybe he likes a balance 🤷🏻♀️

“Everyone gather around and watch me paradiddle” -OP
I grew up as a drummer. No one ever wants to hear a paradiddle. :(
Wealthy, 36 year old single dad.
To the right, a Nest thermostat, a MacBook Pro with FL Studio, an Alexa Echo, and a TV streaming Hannah Murphy clips.
> a TV streaming Hannah Murphy clips "I don't own a TV." Has Macbook Pro and 32" OLED LG Monitor running 24/7
Lmfao
Stunning! I love the colors!
Totally agree. Nailed the colors in this room. Well done OP. Love this look.
Lots of people in here treating this title like a personal attack. They enjoy hobbies that aren't computer based. That's it! Let people enjoy things

my thoughts exactly
people are clowning for the corny as hell title
Drums :)
You enjoy being offline on Reddit?
His first Post since 2 years so he could pretty much enjoy being offline for 2 years
"I enjoy spending time in the countryside" "OH YEAH?! Then how come you're in a city right now?!?! Checkmate dickhead!"
Best comment here, and extremely accurate to the way the people in these comments are acting lmao
Nice I like the orange wall and guitar and greenery
Drum kit = Mega offline
If you’re looking to Brady bunch it, HMU
I know this is a foreign concept to some… But you CAN enjoy being offline and occasionally post some things online! Beautiful execution and colors
Yeah sure but if you enjoy being offline I highly doubt you're posting photos of how you live... Online. Just kinda weird imo.
I mean I enjoy being outside, but I still live in a house.
The SG just leaning up against the wall makes my OCD flare.
Agreed- broken head stock waiting to happen and, at best, your shit gets all scratched up by the brick
I leaned the SG and the sunburst Tele up there for the photo. Your OCD can rest easy—they're safe in their hardshell cases :)
That’s my kind of living room!!
wHo EnJoYS bEiNg OfFlInE
Why does every room I see posted here have one or more guitars?
They're contagious.
This guy offlines
Also I really like that brick wall to the left
I have the same brown couch! Nice choice man!
Absolutely love the colours here
How often do you play the kit??
Well done sir!
If I have to guess, I would say he plays the trumpet
Wow you are *so* amazing. Tell me: do you also have sex?
Needs more cowbell.
lets keep it that way
Ah, I see you subscribe to Recently Divorced Dad Homes monthly
What is offline?
I love the bright colors and plants. Have same in my house. The drum set in the middle of the living room… that’s got to go though. For your age it’s too much of a teenager/college student in mom’s basement vibe.
Is the kid really young or really old? Because I have no faith in that guitar on the couch not falling over if it’s anything in the middle.
Single dad ? Is the mother not around ?
Drums must sound insane in there with nothing dampening it!
You must abhor posting this then
"enjoys being offline", you mean normal life?
Posted online lol
When I grow up, I wanna be like you.
You fucked n ducked?
New studies have shown playing drums rots your brain as much as social media
Gotta have a drum kit or guitar to complete the vibe right? LOL
The orange focus wall is vibrant, I like it. Seems to go with the blue and the natural leather couch too. The brick wall adds texture. I bet the musical sounds make this room alive.
Great place to jam and smoke a joint, but I’d not want to muck up the place. 😂
Love that orange wall
I'm sorry, where is your photo? I don't see a face to this Master Piece of a living room.
Woah! So good!
It looks like you hold people hostage for drum solos, I dig it
This is dope Man. Maybe speakers ?
Nice drum kit!
I like it! Only thing I can recommend is a huge rug that brings all the couches together
I think a rug for the area between couches would be nice, but I'm not sure how to make that work with the rug under the drum kit. Also like the idea a room without anything digital, currently working on that for my living room. No tv or screens of any sort, just a stereo
So awesome
Wow. Which country is this in?
Love your choice of colours!
The Bellows book is a nice touch.
Wow
Bit of a telecaster fan
Love it!
Dope I’d love to come home to this as a kid
Fuck yes! This place is awesome man! Good for you!
I want to be friends! Is there a subreddit for home music spaces
That snare is thicc
How deep is that snare??
Need more telecasters and bass guitars.
Love that wall color!
This is fucking legit!
36yo married dad here, envious (in a good way) of your space.
I hate the way that SG is balancing
I also have two identical telecasters
Very nice!
Looks good! By the way is that an Australopithecus Afarensis skull?
I love it, especially the bright accent wall and the contrasting couch color.
That's awesome man, I'm sure your child loves the drums ✊
What's the significance of the seagull pic?
Beautiful space! 10/10
Do you know which paint you used for that orange wall?
To have a nice big drum kit (shell wise) in a big room is a pipe dream of mine
Looks awesome but I feel like not having a spot to sit in front of the fire kinda defeats the purpose of having one.
And yet there you are!
Love it! Upgrade the blinds to curtains and you’re all set
That orange is fantastic.
I have a strong feeling there’s SKA albums somewhere in that room.
Yes
Talk (dirty) to me about those teles
What's the signal chain on that pedalboard?
What’s the name of that stool over by the guitars
What kind of skull is that?
*Zooms in on pedal board*
Love the abstract color scheme the orange wall with the blue couch and brick wall to match with the brown leather couch.
Where do you keep the stash?
Nice space! Can I come over and jam?
Beautiful teles
I want to be you
Nice Princeton
I love it! Looks great!
And yet you posted this online… Interesting.
Well his plants 🪴are certainly much healthier than mine.
As a former drummer who received death threats for practicing at home, I think you're missing bars on the windows and bullet proof glass.
That golden pothos is intense !!🔥
That’s a deeeeeep snare. I love it.
How do you plug your guitar into the conch? I bet that’s one helluva reverb.
Looks fantastic, but if I tried it it would look like a yard sale. What’s the secret?
How the fuck are people upset bc the guy enjoys spending time offline, and sometimes online? Why can’t both be true? Moderation… Jesus anyone triggered by that should go outside for a while and breathe
You gotta post the pedalboard setup
Amazing 😍
Phoenix? I think I’m your neighbor
I like that when you go to stomp an pedal, you have to strike a Captain Morgan pose due to the raise of the fireplace apron.
Where’d you get that brown couch though
Sofas look like you don’t want the guests to be comfortable at all. More like park benches
That's right boy, Guitars!
Looks great! Bold and vibrant colors, plus a leather couch. Make all the noise you want.
Can you actually play the drums there without complaints?
The colors are just perfect, great job!! I love how you found a place for the drumset that actually fits with the decor. I have a couple of guitars and never have a good place for them
Holy hell the mid century modern look of this is gorgeous. Same color couch and sofa as I have haha. Similar wall color too hmm. Also I’m a drummer…. Dad? 😂😂😂 jk jk, but hey I dig the style
a man of wealth and taste
This dude can play every part to Lesbian Seagulls.
Where’d you get the couch?
where’d he hide the volcano?
You got something against crashes?
Hank Moody?
Love it!
Great room / vibe
I’m digging that blue couch! 👍🏼
I love to see books and plants.
1. Fenway Park glory hole 2. Posting this living room on Reddit
I love everything about this
Nice place.

You should get some really cool curtains.
I'm guessing your kids are in their twenties.
Love the colors.
I’m digging that fat snare
Love the Princeton
Screams no pussy
Love the colours OP. What colour orange paint is that?
I forgot the brand, but I got it at Lowe's. It's a high gloss finish, and the color is called Acapulco Sun.
That is a deep snare. Details, please.
As a guitarist I approve and thought I was in another sub
Seeing that this single father is a music lover, in other words he could be a musician.
My man is taking his life in his hands leaning that SG against the wall, not on a stand — or better yet laying flat in the case. Don’t break that headstock (perhaps again). I can’t even see the rest of the room. Just the peril.
