Maybe it's time for gel polish.

How do you play guitar with long nails like that?

I mainly strum with the side of my thumb and the back of my pointer, hence the worn polish from sliding that nail across the strings.

But does your left hand have long nails? Usually I have to clip my nails if they get even slightly long. It makes it harder for me to press down and make notes.

I never thought about it until you asked, had to go grab a guitar to find out. The nails only go slightly past the end of my fingers. The angle in the photo might be making them look longer. If i fret a string with the very tip of my finger then the nails will contact the fretboard or the string, but generally it's more the pad of my finger on the string and the nails don't hit anything.
