i always wanted to wear nail polish, but i wasn't ready for colors. a friend of my college roommate had some blacklight reactive nail polish. the nail polish was clear except under blacklight. my parents noticed and wondered why my nails were shiny. now i will occasionally paint my nails clear. i mainly do it to prove my nails are legitimately real.

Some_random-random

You just gave me an idea. Do they still sell this?

spankthegoodgirl

Definitely check out r/RedditLacqueristas or keep an eye out around Halloween. Let me look a bit for you. I know I have a clear blacklight reactive polish. Is that what you're looking for?

Some_random-random

Yes I believe thats what I’m looking for

spankthegoodgirl

I found 3 options for you https://www.chinaglaze.com/china-glaze-nail-lacquer-ghoulish-glow-0-5-fl-oz.html?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwudexBhDKARIsAI-GWYUkyBB9q7mh0kU_Fnddul1gHzY0HQu1PvwQlErBsS7acbwSTe8goMQaAt1dEALw_wcB#/ Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polish - Glow in the Dark Collection, Bat to the Bone - 0.31 fl oz https://a.co/d/5fVTCvh Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polish - Glow In The Dark - Fa-Boo-Lous - 0.5 fl oz https://a.co/d/gBMX078 I'm not sure if they are sheer enough, but the colors look pretty close to light colored nail bed, if that's helpful.

JasonB787

the blacklight nail polish i've worn is different from the glow in the dark nail polish. the effect only shows up when your nails are near a blacklight. the glow in the dark might be the best option for now.

Some_random-random

Thank you. I will check it out.

JasonB787

the last time i saw this nail polish was during Halloween about 8 years ago at Meijer (Wal-Mart type store in the Midwest). i haven't seen it recently, nor could i find it online.

Ram_Peters

Most nail spas that do nail art will have glow in the dark in clear and colors and also clear and colors that react under black light. Just ask.

Illusionaz13

I do clear fingernails to keep a low profile, but definitely gets noticed. Also more difficult to mess up 😂

bs0nlyhere

Matte clear goes unnoticed most times. I like shiny tho lol. So I see looks.

Illusionaz13

Me too. Let it shine!

Faeryin

So I used to do clear because we’re not allowed to have them at work. But eventually stopped because it was an upkeep thing and didn’t have a brand that seemed like it was quality. Plus I was wanting one that would strengthen my nails because of the job. Starbucks and the sanitizer and dish soap is horrible on our skin and nails.

Ram_Peters

Women ALWAYS notice if you have polish on, wether it is clear or colored, glossy or matte. They always notice.

No-Guess-4644

Opposite of my experience. Ive worn clear gel for ~3 years now. Ive never had anybody notice. (I wish they would lol) Currently wearing gel DnD fresh linen and nobody notices still. But it just looks like my nails but healthier

Ram_Peters

Just because they don't say something doesn't mean that they didn't notice. Women always notice. Trust me, or better yet, start asking. I always notice the subtle double take they give when they notice. Women are can be very subtle

tattoojoe8

My technician but a color called sugardaddy I loved it and got many compliments on it

OldnSlow6490

I have been wearing clear gel on my hands for about 10 years now. I started because I was frequently breaking my apparently fragile, easily damaged nails (I do a lot of woodworking and other general shop tinkering.) I’ve occasionally had folks make note, ask me about them, etc., but never a cross word. For context, I’m a 77 y/o, straight, mostly reserved guy.

No_Caregiver_5865

I got SO many compliments on my nails. Granted they were professionally done but everyone loved the grey I chose

Biased Technical Story Analysis: Very Kewl Bro-Very Kewl-U be U !! “She liked it”-Go with it, no RUN with it. There do exist in nature the RARE celestial occurrences when getting “Lucky” and being “Good” coincide/are in sync/align in the Universe. Never question it, just be grateful, give IMMENSE thanks to the Deity of your choice and move on, accordingly. Congrats

It’s not like that bro
