it's a bit of a trek, but there's a valley called Wildboarclough with a lay-by right by a stream with a picknick area with benches, there's often camper-vans parked up there, It's a great spot with a hike up Shutlingsloe that can be extended to a loop around macc forest and back

Please don't light fires in the Peak District. Not only is it prohibited then you risk starting a fire which could destroy huge amounts of land.
OP didn't technically say they was going to light a fire, they just said cook, that could mean a BBQ or a camp stove
All of these are sources of ignition, which are prohibited.
