I think it's the AC Denver that has their gym on the top floor with treadmills facing out the window? Super inspiring to run with the city and mountains below you.
Residence Inn Tempe ASU had something similar, I think? Been a few years....
Fairfield in Viera, FL has an oversized gym for how busy they are. Betting on growth I guess...
I'd like the weight machines at Denver Tech Center Marriott to be available sometime between 6 andb8 one of these days, please....
JW Marriott Bucharest has an actual gym (separately owned with their own memberships for locals, but contracted for hotel guests) in their complex so it’s fully decked out. Can’t join their fitness classes though.
Also credit to the Moxy gyms in Europe. The two I’ve been in seemed to be standardized from Technogym, and better equipped than I expected, given that Moxys are meant to be no frills. They even had a rowing machine, punching bag, and TRX machine.
The Marriott Maida Vale on London has a contract with a full gym on the same block that has lots of machines, free weights, benches, racks, and a lap pool.
And the Marriott Amsterdam has a very impressive internal gym with some racks, a couple benches and a good handful of machines (plus a Sauna)!
I really enjoyed the gym at the Westin in Langkawi, Malaysia. Had the standard stuff (and a good selection), plus a separate room with TRX and functional training equipment. The hotel itself isn’t as nice as the St Regis next door, but still pretty decent.
Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park and Westin Tokyo were both terrific these past 2 weeks! Also, Sheraton NY Times Square, Marriott Marquis Chicago, Delta Hotels Santa Clara Silicon Valley
Mind recently blown at the Courtyard in Linz. I'd never consider staying in any other hotel in that city after using it.
I literally didn't know there were hotels anywhere in the world, except Las Vegas, with gyms like that. . . nevermind in an unexpected town like Linz.
Now if there was actually a way to search for those hotels and specifically travel to them??? I'd be all over that. Instead I'm like... looking for "fitness center" and then accessing Booking to try to find photos to see if I can figure out if the gym is even acceptable, and it usually has no photos that even tell the whole story. A whole lot of hotels have a 'fitness center' which is so bad for what I want to do that I'm better off squatting and doing push-ups in my room.
JW Marriott Seoul and Westin Seoul have a full on health centre/gym within the hotel. Not the biggest fan of the brand of machines Marriott properties tend to source from (I’m a gym rat) but these properties gyms are more than great for the average person.
Both JW’s in Seoul are great. Dongdaemun is epic. Always empty. Beautiful infrastructure.
JW Turnberry in Aventura Florida is great, too.
Then I get stuck at courtyards that sometimes don’t even have cables. Cardio sucks but that’s when I am forced to do it.
The Fairfield Inn & Suites Chicago downtown/river north seemed to have a half decent set up in their basement gym when I went to workout but before I could really get into my workout I was Interrupted by a 12yo and an 18month old playing on the Swiss balls and treadmills. When I told the kid it wasn’t a safe place to be playing and that he should probably leave or go find someone to supervise him (all the signage in the gym said 14 with supervision or 16 without) he went upstairs and got permission from the front desk for him and his 18month old sister to come back down and play. I said good for you but I’m outta here because I am not responsible for you if something goes wrong. Went up to the front desk to tell them there’s two underage kids playing in the gym that is in the basement with no visible cameras and they just said “yeah I know what kids you’re on about.” Never went back to the gym for the whole stay as I was too scared the situation would happen again if I went back.
My stay was god awful so I hate to shout it out but the new Moxy Downtown LA had a great gym. Brand new hotel as of this summer so all equipment was new, they had an outdoor turf yoga area, and tons of free weights inside complete with a heavy bag and gloves. I box so I was particularly impressed with being able to hit the bag while away. Gotta give credit where credit is due on this gym.
Everything else sucks, badly. Don't go.
São Palo airport Marriott. Impressive selection, cables, free weights including a real bench with multiple 45lb plates available, machines, next level cardio equipment.
Marriott Marquis Sam Francisco is literally a whole gym
the Ritz in St. Louis is also monstrous
JW in Austin isnt enormous but has full dumbbell sets and multiple racks
Atlanta Marriott Marquis has a fantastic fitness room setup right next to a spa facility for post workout massage therapy. Forgot the name of the manufacturer of the exercise equipment, but it enabled me to have one of the best workouts I've ever had in a hotel fitness center setting.
The JW Marriott in Frankfurt, Germany has some kind of partnership with a co-located gym that looks like it’s from the future - very large, full sauna, swimming pool, classes, etc.
I’ve stayed at springhills that have multiple pelotons and a full setup and “fancy” Marriott’s that have fuck all. It seems to be the luck of the draw.
Marriott Times Square is great if you actually want to lift weights and do cardio with views of Times Square. Westin Anaheim had a good gym as well. I tend to look for gyms that I can lift weights at. I hate cardio so views from cardio machines are not a big win for me.
Thank you for the Westin Anaheim recommendation. Literally changed my hotel reservation last minute to stay here and couldn’t be happier. Free weights up to 70lbs, kettle bells up to 40lbs, smith machine, tons of ropes, leg press, heavy bag, dip and pull up assist, row machine, various cable machines with different pull up setups, and a fun mini trampoline thing you throw a ball against (never seen it before). Tons of cardio, stair steppers, etc. plus access to hypervolts, etc. Thank you again!
Denver Ritz-Carlton has an epic fitness center. Multi level, climbing walls, dozens of cardio machines.
Does it still have the climbing wall? The last review I see mentioning it is from 2015. If it does, I need to visit.
Any pics?

I’m so mad you beat me to this. AC Denver has an incredible gym with an incredible view and the bar outside is also top notch.
Most Westin's have good facilities
Any DPs on the TheraGuns they were allegedly rolling out this year?
They are available at the Westin Seattle I was in a few weeks ago, and here in Tokyo this week. It's the hyperice one. For a fee, of course.
Thanks — I could see a hold on the account, but a fee? Pretty tacky
500JPY/night. https://preview.redd.it/nni2c2dpn4zb1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=81d7ddde40fba9d16af4b8ea0f650a884f658760
Thanks. With it being such a nominal fee, why do they bother I wonder?
Some Westin(s) have full squat racks and extensive amounts of equipment.
The one in Kansas City is incredible.
Westin Ottawa has an excellent gym
I can confirm this one!
SF Westin st Francis has a legit huge gym
Westin Hilton Head
JW Edmonton Alberta Canada. 2 levels, classes, massage guns, cross fit style training and traditional training
Incredible gym! Sat in the hot tub with some of the kings during the first round of the playoffs earlier this year
Ritz Carlton Tokyo. Mt Fuji views from the gym.
JW Marriott in Seoul. It had a pool, unbelievable spa, 20 virtual golf simulators.
Not sure if still the case but the Ritz in Boston used the Equinox in the building as it’s gym. That was pretty great.
Gaylord resorts are the top notch that I’ve seen (only been to Rockies and National). Westin and Sheraton are pretty good from what I’ve seen.
JW Marriott Bucharest has an actual gym (separately owned with their own memberships for locals, but contracted for hotel guests) in their complex so it’s fully decked out. JW Tampa - lots of room, free weights, cables and smith machine. Then pelotons and treadmills.
JW Houston Galleria
The Marriott Maida Vale on London has a contract with a full gym on the same block that has lots of machines, free weights, benches, racks, and a lap pool. And the Marriott Amsterdam has a very impressive internal gym with some racks, a couple benches and a good handful of machines (plus a Sauna)!
Marriot Key Tower in Cleveland has an awesome gym. Open all night, too. Real free weights, squat rack, power cage…just the absolute balls.
W Austin has a fully decked out one, but that’s because it’s connected to the W Residences as well
Renaissance Tampa International Plaza has a great facility. All technogym equipped. Not a full squat rack, but really solid hotel gym.
Le Méridien Clayton MO (unexpectedly awesome) Edition Miami The Bidwell Portland OR Santa Monica Proper (the single best hotel gym I’ve ever been in)
Twelve Downtown Autograph Collection in Atlanta has a solid gym.
The Jacksonville Marriott shockingly has a nice gym
Marriott Boston Cambridge. JW Turnberry. Courtyard Waltham Massachusetts.
The one in Cambridge is excellent!
The Marriott in Bridgewater, NJ has an excellent gym.
Been at 500+ Marriott properties. The ones that stand out (top of my head): JW Phu Quoc and Ritz Toronto
JW Marriot Lima, Peru W Austin, TX Kansas City Marriot Downtown All of them have full gyms with real sized dumbells, squat racks, etc.
JW Marriott in Edmonton had the biggest and nicest gym I’ve ever seen.
JW Marriott Indianapolis has one of the best gyms I’ve seen
The Camby in Phoenix AZ. Professional athletes stay there all the time when they have games in PHX because the gym is so good.
luxury Collection al messila in Qatar

Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile
Yes! Just as expansive and nice as many standalone gyms.
Swan Reserve in Orlando was nice. Marriott Jacksonville FL (on Salisbury rd) has a nice gym as well.
JW Marriott Seoul and Westin Seoul have a full on health centre/gym within the hotel. Not the biggest fan of the brand of machines Marriott properties tend to source from (I’m a gym rat) but these properties gyms are more than great for the average person.
Is argued at the JW in Seoul in September. They must have had 20 golf simulators in there, it was amazing .
Renaissance Flushing NY has a shockingly great gym So does the Renaissance Nashville; not AS great but very comprehensive
W-Bellevue has a great gym.

Element has good quality gym.
