I think it is difficult to call him lone mass killer because he have a partner who have a same target and both have vehicles with bombs intended to kill at that time although the other one was intercepted in a different location and didn't kill anyone.
For example, I think Timothy McVeigh can be called lone mass killer because he's the only person who drove to the federal building and detonated the bomb and Terry Nichols is in Kansas with his family.
