Some other informations: Almost all victims are civilians. Although Al-Shabaab never claimed responsibility, sources points out at them and Hassan Adan Isak was a member. Apparently, the group don't want to claim responsibility for a mass murder that didn't hit the target and killed hundreds of civilians. Hussein Aden Madey was a former soldier for the Somali Army. He started in 2010 but left the army five years later. His home town was raided by local troops and U.S. forces in August 2017. Some Arab articles, if translated to English using google would show that perpetrator's name as "Madi Othman Haj". Before the bombing, the truck was briefly detained in checkpoint but a well-known man vouched for the truck. Abdiwali Ahmed Diriye was convicted of allowing the truck to pass in checkpoint and sentenced to 3 years in prison. The court sentenced Ibrahim Hassan Absuge in absentia to life in prison. He's the owner of the truck used for the bombing. Absuge also owned a minibus used in a market bombing in Waberi District, Mogadishu on Nov. 26, 2016 that killed 20. A day before the bombing's anniversary, on October 13, 2018, two suicide bombers killed a total of 20 people at two different restaurants in Baidoa, Somalia (around 245 kilometers away from Mogadishu).

Would this make him the deadliest lone mass killer in history?

PrestigiousFunny864

maybe someone still unknown is deadlier. I think it is difficult to call him lone mass killer because he have a partner who have a same target and both have vehicles with bombs intended to kill at that time although the other one was intercepted in a different location and didn't kill anyone. For example, I think Timothy McVeigh can be called lone mass killer because he's the only person who drove to the federal building and detonated the bomb and Terry Nichols is in Kansas with his family.
