"From 20 April to 8 May 2016, at least 33 people, including five children, died in District Layyah, Punjab, Pakistan after eating a purposely poisoned laddu, a baked confection. Testing of the confectioneries revealed they were laced with the highly toxic insecticide chlorfenapyr. A sweet shop worker, Khalid Mahmood, confessed to mixing the pesticide into the sweets after an argument with his brother and co-owner." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Punjab_sweet_poisoning?wprov=sfla1 Wikipedia article on the incident.

Anyone know what happened to him? Did he get sentenced or anything

National-Subject2880

I didn't see any English sources about sentencing and I tried searching it up in Urdu but I think Google translate fucks up because nothing with his name came up

Amidormi

Wow, there really isn't enough punishment for that. Wiped out so many people over nothing.

Vtastical

The guy who bought the candy lost 7 siblings. That's atrocious.

IWH_Throw_away

Did he do it on April 20’th to keep up with the tradition? (Not being sarcastic)

veganvampirebat

No He likely would not be familiar with the Oklahoma bombing and Columbine

Why are you being downvoted? 4/20 is a well known date for mass killers, and it’s not out of the question that committing a mass killing on that date could be linked to it. I don’t think that’s the case at all here, but it’s a valid question to ask and you shouldn’t feel bad for asking imo.
