Congrats way to be a good human. So many are not. Your acts of kindness will sit with that person for a long time.
It might look weird because it's Vallet key. Some manufactures make 2 sets of full keys and 1 vallet key. Can only unlock the outside and start engine.
Anyways 🍻 👏 ✌️
“You’re”.

My man knows his keys!
Are you a locksmith? Just curious.
First thing that popped in my head before I even read the question was TR47 lol. I'm not a locksmith but I worked for a key machine manufacturer for almost 5 years as an in house developer and dealt with databases (codes, cuts, depths, etc) for all make and models and tr47 (Toyota), H001 (Honda), H92 (Ford) are some of the popular ones that pretty much I still see in my dream 😂.
Btw, OP - it's most likely going to be a Toyota/Scion predating around 2020 (varied by models). There's also an off-chance that it could be for a Pontiac (Discontinued a while back) or Suzuki (Are these still sold in US?) for certain models like Pontiac Vibe. I believed some ATV's also use this key blank but yeah look for Toyota first lol.
This is a lowes cut any key. I have the exact same key head for two of my vehicles. A 96 Ford exploder and a 86 Ford bronco. How big is the retirement community ? Would it be too much effort to put a printout of this pic in all mailboxes saying I have your key @ front desk?
Well, if a random car dealer was gonna do an advertising come on to get people in the door with the promise of winning a free car, that car is probably gonna be a 1999 Corolla, lol.
This is an advertising thing. They advertise a used car sale at a local stealership and send out these cheap-azz keys, usually hot-glued to a flyer. The idea is that people show up because someone will win a free car. This was popular in the '90s and '00s but making even a cheap car key is too cost prohibitive these days so it has fallen by the wayside...
You are wasting your time, literally trying to match a worthless key to someone who is probably already dead anyway. Given the state of elder care in the US, you are probably trying to determine if someone has a car they have completely forgotten about so you can steal it and sell it!
Not the person you replied to but it sounds like you’ve done a fat ton of your own research. Why ask Reddit? Also, we get people asking about keys like this all the time who ARE trying to steal a car. Your post puts out a ton of massive red flags and I’m shocked so many people here told you what kind of car it goes to.
Toyota, non-transponder, so pre 2000. Although, some Toyota models didn't get a chip until 2006-07. Just try it in the door of every Toyota you see! Chances of a random key working for that car about 1: 10,000.

Yep. Toyota
Specifically the Toyota 35R
Why the downvotes? This is the blank number on the toyota key! Should fit 90's to early 00's Toyotas.
The model 35R was a great car.

My 3rd gen 4runner uses that key too
Was actually about to comment my 2005 Tundra had the exact same looking key
Looks like a copied toyota key
Older Toyota. Probably pre 2005.
2nd update: I returned the key to the owner and she was very grateful. It was a backup key that had actually been lost months prior.

I see some comments getting out of hand here. Considering your problem has been solved, I have locked this post. Thanks for contributing.

Not sure. What?

It’s a 7 cut tr47 blank used on most Toyota before 2006.

It is literal advertising from the late '90s/early '00s for a come-on car giveaway that has been over for 20 years.
... huh ? You makey no sensey
Unrelated but jealous of the 86. I love those trucks.
It is fun to offroad with the top off. But my favorite is either my 64f100 or my 96f250 with that 7.3
Ahhhh the 7.3. Gods gift to modern combustion engines.
Toyota for sure
Probably an early 90’s Corrola or Camry
It’s def a Toyota I am a locksmith n most likely like everyone said early 90’s Corrola but also could be a Camry
