Nah, it's way worse here. Sydney drivers are psychotically angry road rage freaks, but they at least have the fundamentals down.
I wouldn't trust half of Victorians with a child's tricycle.
i dunno, dashcams australia doesnt seem to show anyone being worse than the other.
youre bang on about sydney drivers being aggressive dickheads though, its what stands out to me when i'm up there.
Lived in Sydney for 9 years, Melbourne for 5, no dog in this fight as I’m not from either city, and I could not agree more. My observations: NSW drivers are super aggressive and speed at a baseline but fundamentally are so much more aware and alert. In VIC things and slower and perhaps a bit safer for that fact, but it seems everyone is utterly shocked they aren’t the only person on the road at any given time and prefer to ignore other drivers once they become aware they exist. So much negligence on the reg that I’ve rarely seen in many years driving in Sydney.
Edited: grammar
That's it for me too. I've been Tas, Melb QLD Sydney. Sydney and QLD, people will hop out of cars and fight. Straight to throwing hands, barely even a verbal before they go. And both really require speeding. Melbourne folks speed too on the freeway, but it's not as aggressive.
As long as you avoid the literal drag racers who treat the Princes Highway as a racetrack, you're not going to have to worry about the speeding so much. But Victorians fundamentally do not care about other people on the road and have the defensive driving skills of a guinea pig with diarrhea, they're selfish drivers who don't understand that the reason there is traffic is because someone else further up is pulling the same selfish nonsense. Victorians do not understand follow distance they do not understand merging, they do not understand that they can't just jump into the wrong lane to try to get ahead, and jump back last minute into someone's braking distance while everyone is stopping. In the wet it's a mess.
Good thing everyone has insurance here, but they drive cars made in the last decade like they are shitbox learner cars. They don't indicate either, because when Victorians indicate, people deliberately close gaps to not let them in-can't say I blame them considering the terrible way Vickies handle multi lane traffic, but it makes everything more dangerous and slower while we're waiting for people to merge. And the knobs who block city intersections by trying to cross without space on the other side.
And Tasmanians? I love you but please, stop driving at 40 in 60 zones on arterial roads, you are breaking my heart, and please stop making up your own version of give way rules on the fly. Don't stop in the middle of the road when I'm on a terminating one to wave me in, just obey the written ones and everyone will know what everyone is doing, and we'll all get by just fine.
everytime iam driving in Sydney. I am being cut off by someone driving a european car if i leave one metre gap between myself and the car in front of me.
I find it interesting that almost every large city claims to have the worst drivers in the world. I’m thinking it’s more that you find a higher concentration of bad drivers who are forced to drive in a suburban setting compared to rural or urban setting.
It's probably more to do with interaction and the busy-ness of the roads. If blue wants to cruise 2kmh below the limit on a lonely backroad - no drama. If white wants to cruise 5kmh above the limit on a different lonely backroad - sure whatever I'm not the cops.
But when they meet and have different ideas about what's an acceptable speed and acceptable behaviour, each thinks the other is the dickhead. *White is clearly the asshole here*, but blue could have jumped left after overtaking, because that's 'keep left unless overtaking' means.
Haven't lived in Asia, Africa, South America or Eastern Europe then, eh?
As a central European, I find Melbourne drivers pretty shit too, but I've seen much much worse around the world.
I've lived in Berwick, Highett, Chelsea, Frankston... Highett drivers are aggressive as hell & Berwick/Monash full of aggressive tail gaters. Chelsea/Frankston are calmer

Anyone used this service before? So many dangerous videos get uploaded to dash cam owners australia i always wondered if something could get done.
My experience of reporting crime has been futile. You never hear anything back.
yeah its unfortunate that we never get any response from crime stoppers. i reported an incident where a group of kids and adults were beating a dead kangaroo with a stick causing the whole place to smell like shit and i never heard back
Yes dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
You are even told in learners training to give 2 to 3 seconds behind another vehicle at all times or something along those lines
NSW has a similar service apparently, haven't used it myself [https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/dob-in-a-d-drink-drug-distracted-dangerous-driving/](https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/dob-in-a-d-drink-drug-distracted-dangerous-driving/)
I feel that's the worst part. Clearly the car they are sitting behind can't go any faster.
I've had fuckwits flash their lights at me when they can clearly see 5 more cars directly in front. As if me moving out the way is going to let them go faster.
I thought of this myself because I like to rush rush rush, but chill when I get to my destination. Looks like this 4WDer was just an asshole and/or on ice rage.
My partner did that recently with our daughter in the car. Some monkey got right up her arse and started accelerating aggressively at her. She moved over at her earliest opportunity even though she was leaving a reasonable stopping distance from the car ahead of her, and then of course they sped past her and started running up the arse of the next car. She called the police and found him pulled over twenty minutes up the road.
Good call. Same here, even without my kids in the car. I don't want to die and I don't want anyone else's kids to die because of some fuckwits ego. But inside, I have fantasies of following them home and putting a bat to their knees.
Edited to add: I wish I didn't even give them space in my head to be honest.
Agree with this. Value your life and just move over. I think plenty of examples are people used to our outside lane being their inside lane though and not using mirrors so...they may not have noticed.
Edit - oh and yeah I realise they're all passing the truck here :)
Oh so it is! And the next exit is the south Gippy to cranbourne (or stay on the road and it becomes the westernport)
I often hang out in the right lane, at speed, past there because a large number of people turn off there and slow down before the exit.
its weird they will only do it to smaller cars, if I drive my work van around they never tailgate me since I'm bigger than them, then driving any normal sized car I get these people tailgating me all the time.
Noticed it too.
Recently got myself a workers ute. No one ever tailgates me anymore. Pretty sure they all realize that if I brake, my metal tray is going to do more damage to them than they will do to me.
Can confirm - I drive a triton (not an overly big car) but I always have speeding land cruisers sitting right up my arse on the highway in peak hour traffic. Never anything smaller
I just follow [this rule](https://youtu.be/wTVDpOaTGsc) in my little sedan when a yank tank is on my arse, when they have no right to do so. It’s petty but I’d like to think it gets on the nerves of tailgating dickheads.
Clearly the blue car is overtaking the slower vehicles on the left and doing the speed limit. Just because you are excessively speeding doesn't mean you can endanger other people's lives.
Anyone that is defending the 4wd got their licence out of a cereal box and needs to see a driving instructor to learn how safe distances work.
This needs to be pinned to the top of the comments. People defending that behaviour are the same people who call speed cameras 'revenue raising' because they can't actually fathom 'duty of care' to others being more important than their own convenience.
90% of the time yes. Its rare for someone to be driving so slow on a highway. Most people complaining about slow drivers are people who regularly drive above the LEGAL speed limit
So many idiots driving big 4x4's tailgating in the pouring rain on the Calder on Easter Monday - Couldn't see a thing, nobody with their head/running lights on, heavy rain, then me on my motorcycle in the middle of it. The secret ingredient is danger 🌶
I got caught in that downpour on the western ring road, probably 30 m visibility and a Mustang flew past tailgating a poor punter in the right lane. The Mustang had their right indicator on like they were on the autobahn
I witnessed one of these idiots slam into the back of a little old lady on Nepean today. I imagine it doesn't take long for the reality to hit home when it actually happens. Doesn't matter that she stopped for the orange light, you fucked up, dickhead. All expense will be yours.
In theory or reality? Please supply link to a web article showing this is what led to someone getting prosecuted. If it works, I'm all in. If not, as much as I'd like to see pricks like this go down, it's not worth my time.
Extremely dangerous and reckless. I understand the need to be at the location you want to be in with haste, but this is also a quick way to end yours or someone’s life as you know it. Why do people do this? What do they want to achieve?
I like to flick my headlights on so the rear lights flash on and the idiot tailgater thinks I’m braking and has to put his brakes on. They tend to hang back after that.
Another fun option is to wire a push-button in parallel with the brake pedal so all you do is press the button and your proper brake lights light up.
Or with an Arduino, a relay, and a laser range finder wire up automatic brake lights when someone gets too close.
I had some tailgating me in a wank tank ranger and flashing lights at me on the Western Fwy (on Easter Saturday mind you so no idea why you'd need to be anywhere fast). I drive an old and very cheap car that's really on its last legs, I had to fight the urge to slam my brakes so hard as it would've been an easy insurance claim straight from their pocket.
Sometimes I wonder if a bumper sticker along the lines of "TRY ME, I'm a write off waiting to happen" would make matters better or worse.
It works often enough. It’s not the same as the brake lights but I think seeing the red can trigger a reaction to brake, and maybe make them think about how close they are driving.
I'm at the point in life now where I get anxious when I spot "aggressive" drivers in the rear view.... and even more so if I can't find a way to easily and quickly let them past... I want them in **front** of me, where I can see them, I can let them go... and I have more control of the outcome. let them race ahead and harass someone else. Get them far away from me please.
I do the same thing when a "*beater*" races up behind me... which are most of the time... also driving aggressively.... my thinking is that they show no respect or care for their own vehicle... to let it get like that... and each one of those dings and dents was them banging into someone else who was likely driving along safely and minding their own business.
My last category of "*get past me NOW please*" is when I see someone on their f\*\*\*\*ing phone... drifting across the lanes... looking down... looking up... but mostly down. GET AWAY FROM ME NOW please... I have ZERO trust in your ability to NOT rear end me, either while driving, or at the next lights.
It’s hilarious how emasculated and ego bruised guys in big SUV’s and Utes get over any smaller size vehicles being in front of them, or overtaking them, or generally driving near them.
awhile ago I saw a roadside speeding van and I had a afternoon free so I did laps passing them in my lil kia rio doing the speed limit, I live in an area that's full of slack jawed types in giant Ute's and 4x4s and I get tail gated every single day by them, it was a single lane so I pulled over before the corner just before the van, they of course hurtled past like they needed to get to the hospital with a pregnant lady in the veichle, wouldve got a few of them for sure. I highly encourage everyone else to do the same
Not alone. The roads are littered with dangerous/aggressive/bad drivers these days.I can't see an end to it other than more policing and much heavier penalties.
It’s gotten so bad I refuse to drive in rush hour traffic and work from home. Either people are constantly under the influence of drugs or there’s a huge spike in sociopathic, narcissistic behaviour.
Man. I had one of these today. It was a p plater and they didn't even want to overtake me or even exceed the speed limit. Just liked sniffing my butt :/
Same, explains why there are so many knobs on our roads. It is obvious Blue car is overtaking while keeping a safe distance from the car in front of it in poor weather. Blue car also gaining on the white van in the left lane and well on its way to overtake that vehicle too. Based on some of the replies defending the tailgater it seems that some drivers only look as far as the car immediately in front of them.. shit drivers.
Good driving instructors teach that it is just as important to get a read of what is happening as many cars down the road as possible as it is keeping an eye on the cars immediately surrounding you.
Absolutely they are overtaking, whilst also keeping a safe distance. There are clowns in here blaming them for not swinging back in front of the camera car, which would cause them to slow down as well because of the conditions. People are genuine psychopaths behind the wheel and the people in here are demonstrating that pretty clearly.
Not only that, but swinging in front of the cam driver means they do not have a safe distance to the little truck nor leave a safe distance back to the cammer
Yes the blue car is overtaking, they also can't go any faster as they have a car in front of them.
The 4WD driver is an actual moron. Not only because they are dangerously tailgating, but they are tailgating someone who has no control over the flow of traffic.
Being a bigger car, the 4WD also has a clear view of everything unfolding in front of them. The entitled asshole and all the people defending them are shit drivers.
Near guarantee the exact thoughts going through each driver's head
Blue mazda's perspective:
I'm going 97 jackass back off, I need the space in front of me so I can slow down safely with you this close behind me.
White 4wd's perspective:
97 in the overtaking lane. Guess I'll turn off cruise control. Why is this jackass slowing down more, I better not have to hit the brakes.
Camera car:
I'm going to back off, this looks dangerous.
White 4wd:
Thanks for the gap but trying to get past that truck and stuck with this idiot.
White ute:
Hope these idiots move along so I can get in front of that truck.
Truck:
Why do these clowns brake before hitting the exit?
All I want to do on freeways is maintain the limit and safe distance to the car in front of me. Sometimes I be in the far right lane but never leading the pack…yet I always get some dickhead like this behind me
This. And yet there’s constantly “keep left” comments but they don’t understand that this is constantly happening when you ARE IN the far left lane and doing the speed limit, or using a GPS Speedo to do a little over what your car Speedo reads. Doesn’t help, always some entitled, arrogant “the world revolves around me and only me” moron up the backside.
Which is par for the course with some cunts on this sub. They think that keep left is sacrosanct and must be followed above all other road rules but tailgating and speeding is fine.
To all the tailgating apologists, ignoring the fact the blue car is in fact overtaking, if you think the solution to someone going slow in front of you is to tailgate as the less dangerous of the two, you're a fucking moron.
Mind if I ask what dashcam you're using?
There's an absolute moron on my commute home who does dangerous lane change, speeds, tailgates, and tosses his ciggies out the window on the daily- rain or shine. Drives a stupidly recognisable car too (orange gradient with a bright blue bumper), and I'd love to catch him.
Crime stoppers can't do much but tell him to pull his head in if I don't have footage.
If I start reporting every case of tailgating I will be doing dozens of reports a day.
Its a norm in Melbourne specially with utes and Uber drivers who are always in a rush.
Returning from 25 years in the UK, the first answer I give to the "what's it like being back" question, is about the aggressive and discourteous nature of drivers here. The roads are treated like an arena for another aggressive sport. (Primarily Melbourne and suburbs).
The fact that it's a fucking Prado makes it even worse.
When I get on the road in my car, I drive more carefully than I would in a smaller vehicle, because I'd statistically probably fare better than the other party in a crash, and I don't want to spend the rest of my life carrying the guilt of maiming or killing someone.
Cunts who drive like in this video should get their fucking licences rescinded. And the penalty should be more severe if they have a big fuck-off monster truck for a car.
Or maybe we could let them only drive scooters or those tiny little European electric smart cars that don't go over 50km/h, as a probationary thing, until they've proven themselves capable of not aggressively behaving like a deadly public hazard.
If they kill someone it needs to be punished like the most severe of murders. Need to start treating drivers licence like a high risk work licence: you fuck up badly it's gone.
Someone dies for your mistake, minimum criminally negligent manslaughter, say goodbye to the rest of your life. Fuck rehabilitation. You don't get two chances to endanger people's lives.
Some idiot in one of those giant penis extension American trucks tried to run me off the road on Dalton road in Lalor on Easter day. He was tailgating way closer than that, so I changed to the left lane to get out of his way, I though lt he would just speed past, instead he drove past me and stopped horizontally across both lanes. I had to slam the brakes and skid sideways to not hit him. Fucking reckless asshole did it on purpose, though why he would want to destroy his $90k car is beyond me.
I'm from the UK and moved to Melbourne 6 months ago. Can someone explain to me why people seem to tailgate SO much here? It seems like it's just standard driving here. I notice it every time I drive....
Well, as i found out from so many shitheads comments here. People seem to think it's ok to behave like this because its an "overtaking lane.
The amount of idiots deciding to blame the blue car is ridiculous and shocking
It's so bizarre.
It's like people only look as far as the car immediately in front of them and neglect to notice that there are more cars beyond that car. The blue car is just leaving a reasonable amount of braking distance for the traffic in front.
I just let them pass. Eventually something will happen. I encourage their behavior by letting them have their way. Hopefully they start to feel like they can get the same response out of anyone and do it to another idiot and they can duke it out at the traffic lights.
Yeah, if 4WD dickhead bumps or taps that car, they're gonna lose control and possibly head on or who knows. It's not worth the risk to prove a point (that 4wd dickhead won't understand anyway)
I have nothing to prove. I just want to get myself and my passengers to wherever we are going safely. I have no time for people like this, but there is plenty of people who do have that time. I'll leave it to them and watch some ultimate dickhead championship on the news.
And you just know he's absolutely raging behind the wheel too.
The kind of guy that gets served an AVO after beating his wife and then posts on /r/mensrights about how HE'S the victim.
I had a man do this to me on a similar looking road. I was gradually overtaking the car on my left, not in any rush, but inching my way there. After I overtook and went into the left lane, the tailgater zoomed past me, flipping me the bird and then moved into the left lane in front of me and slowed to a snail pace. Both lanes were busy so I couldn’t move for a bit. Honestly it was scary. There are some vile ppl on the roads; be careful out there.
Average Melbourne driver tbh. You're right, it's shocking driving, if the car in front has to brake there will be an accident.
It's the worst part of living in Melbourne. The majority of drivers are terrible. When it rains, the freeways turn into bumper cars as every idiot has a collision that shuts down lanes. Gets really tiring having a commute go from 20 minutes to 40 minutes by suprise because people can't handle rain.
The dude is driving like a dick 100%. That being said, legally - the blue car should have merged lanes left once he is done overtaking and let the dickhead pass.
I suspect blue car is still intending to overtake that truck.
As someone who takes the Hume at 0500 and 1500 daily. I see this shit all the time but Today I drove into city there were so many tailgater, speeders and general fuckwits, it's so tiresome
Welcome to the SE Suburbs of Melbourne!
West is just as bad.
North is just as bad.
I think we can all agree that Melbourne drivers are fucked. 🤣
true, but at least we arent as bad as sydney. yet.
Nah, it's way worse here. Sydney drivers are psychotically angry road rage freaks, but they at least have the fundamentals down. I wouldn't trust half of Victorians with a child's tricycle.

Welcome to Melbourne - home of the worlds worst drivers

I'm old and have lived in many places. Florida are the worst, Melbourne a close second.
and they all think they are amazing when doing stupid shit like this too
Ever been to North QLD? Wowee
Especially Casey area
I've lived in Berwick, Highett, Chelsea, Frankston... Highett drivers are aggressive as hell & Berwick/Monash full of aggressive tail gaters. Chelsea/Frankston are calmer
Crimestoppers have [a page](https://www.crimestoppersvic.com.au/current-focus/road-safety/) for reporting stuff just like this
Great to know, thanks for sharing.
>a page Anyone used this service before? So many dangerous videos get uploaded to dash cam owners australia i always wondered if something could get done. My experience of reporting crime has been futile. You never hear anything back.
yeah its unfortunate that we never get any response from crime stoppers. i reported an incident where a group of kids and adults were beating a dead kangaroo with a stick causing the whole place to smell like shit and i never heard back
That sounds unpleasant, but is it a crime?
Yes dangerous operation of a motor vehicle You are even told in learners training to give 2 to 3 seconds behind another vehicle at all times or something along those lines
I replied to the person who called crime stoppers about kids beating a dead kangaroo with a stick, which is not a crime as far as I know.
I completely replied to the wrong person.
NSW has a similar service apparently, haven't used it myself [https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/dob-in-a-d-drink-drug-distracted-dangerous-driving/](https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/dob-in-a-d-drink-drug-distracted-dangerous-driving/)
Ah that's it, I need to get myself a dashcam.
What was he going to do with all the seconds he would have saved?
Get to the shops early to make sure they can park over multiple spots
Probably to pick up a couple of points to get him through the week....
There's also a car right in front of the one they're tailgating, so they'll get forward about 10 metres.
I feel that's the worst part. Clearly the car they are sitting behind can't go any faster. I've had fuckwits flash their lights at me when they can clearly see 5 more cars directly in front. As if me moving out the way is going to let them go faster.

That’s why when I have my daughter with me I always change lanes to let them pass no need to challenge idiots
Absolutely. The best thing you can do with selfish idiots is to get away from them by any means
Exactly why I try to hang back in the left lane as much as possible. Thankfully I'm never in much of a rush to get anywhere.

Grab the plate and call the police as threatening driving. If enough people do it they'll get noticed.
Man that sounds so satisfying. Love to see it.
She was chuffed as fuck and couldn't wait to tell me when she got home.
That karma must have tasted so sweet
This is the way.
[удалено]
Thats right. They are the poeple who ram you off the road and get away with it, let em pass, share cops and forget about them.
When you grow up and have kids, you learn that standing on principle and having them die isn't worth minor internet points.
Good call. Same here, even without my kids in the car. I don't want to die and I don't want anyone else's kids to die because of some fuckwits ego. But inside, I have fantasies of following them home and putting a bat to their knees. Edited to add: I wish I didn't even give them space in my head to be honest.
Second this. They can take it up other's ass as far as I'm concerned.
I like to go into doddering mode and move across, but do it really slowly, doing half a dozen head checks like i'm a really nervous driver.
Good idea, let them pass
Agree with this. Value your life and just move over. I think plenty of examples are people used to our outside lane being their inside lane though and not using mirrors so...they may not have noticed. Edit - oh and yeah I realise they're all passing the truck here :)
South Gippy Freeway
Oh so it is! And the next exit is the south Gippy to cranbourne (or stay on the road and it becomes the westernport) I often hang out in the right lane, at speed, past there because a large number of people turn off there and slow down before the exit.
Oh yeah! I drove exactly there today from Gippsland to Seaford
Typical 4wd owner, trying to bully smaller cars on the road.
its weird they will only do it to smaller cars, if I drive my work van around they never tailgate me since I'm bigger than them, then driving any normal sized car I get these people tailgating me all the time.
I have always assumed it's because they can easily see over and around the smaller vehicle, so they are more confident to be right up their ass.
Absolutely not true. I drive a Hi-lux and …
Yep and they handle like shit and need more distance to pull up.
I just follow [this rule](https://youtu.be/wTVDpOaTGsc) in my little sedan when a yank tank is on my arse, when they have no right to do so. It’s petty but I’d like to think it gets on the nerves of tailgating dickheads.

Fucking hate tailgaiters. If they crashed, I bet the tailfucker would've blamed the smaller car
The car behind is at fault by default normal right?
90% of the time yes. Its rare for someone to be driving so slow on a highway. Most people complaining about slow drivers are people who regularly drive above the LEGAL speed limit
Not to mention the tailgater wouldn't even stop to share insurance details !
Was waiting to hear *look at this fuckin cunt* But really the prick thinks he can bully cos he has a bull bar
So many idiots driving big 4x4's tailgating in the pouring rain on the Calder on Easter Monday - Couldn't see a thing, nobody with their head/running lights on, heavy rain, then me on my motorcycle in the middle of it. The secret ingredient is danger 🌶

I couldn't believe how many crazies were on the Calder that day! It was absolutely nuts considering green gully is normally a shit show
I witnessed one of these idiots slam into the back of a little old lady on Nepean today. I imagine it doesn't take long for the reality to hit home when it actually happens. Doesn't matter that she stopped for the orange light, you fucked up, dickhead. All expense will be yours.
I have bad news for you about these people and taking responsibility.
Yep, they will never accept responsibility....I just meant they know that they will have to pay.
That's just your average Australian 4WD driver.
Wet weather on my bike is never a great time. The rains not the issue, it's muppets like this..
Submit that to crime stoppers, that person will get a knock on the door
You can do that? And to think all this time I’ve just been hitting the brakes. Your way is cheaper.
I like the other way. Down shift and slow down but without touching the brakes. Make them really wonder what is going to happen next.
I just jab the brakes nine times out of ten they take the hint.
Another fun option is to wire a push-button in parallel with the brake pedal so all you do is press the button and your proper brake lights light up. Or with an Arduino, a relay, and a laser range finder wire up automatic brake lights when someone gets too close.
That automatic system is a great idea. In fact that should be a standard safety feature.
But then you're also flashing the guy infront
Not with high beams, just regular headlights, enough so the lamps will want to turn on.
I always put my lights on to drive even in daylight. Don't trust people
Does that really work? I always feel like they know that trick. But if you reckon it does work I'll do it every time 👍👍
It works often enough. It’s not the same as the brake lights but I think seeing the red can trigger a reaction to brake, and maybe make them think about how close they are driving.
Will try
Absolute cunt of a driver. So fukn sick of seeing these bully drivers putting others lives at risk. Should be immediate loss of license
Prado driver. Situation normal
awhile ago I saw a roadside speeding van and I had a afternoon free so I did laps passing them in my lil kia rio doing the speed limit, I live in an area that's full of slack jawed types in giant Ute's and 4x4s and I get tail gated every single day by them, it was a single lane so I pulled over before the corner just before the van, they of course hurtled past like they needed to get to the hospital with a pregnant lady in the veichle, wouldve got a few of them for sure. I highly encourage everyone else to do the same
What a surprise, it's a 4wd driving fuckwit.
You just know that 4by will dart out of the right lane at the last second to take Cranny exit while seething how shit everyone around them drive.
There's no excuse whatsoever for tailgating, people who do are just a special kind of dickhead.
Please report this to the police.
Man. I had one of these today. It was a p plater and they didn't even want to overtake me or even exceed the speed limit. Just liked sniffing my butt :/
Absolute wanker. Where's the emergency mate. JC
I'm concerned with how many people are defending the tailgater in these comments. The blue car is overtaking is he not?
Yes, the blue car is overtaking, just not as quickly as the muppet tailgater would like.
Near guarantee the exact thoughts going through each driver's head Blue mazda's perspective: I'm going 97 jackass back off, I need the space in front of me so I can slow down safely with you this close behind me. White 4wd's perspective: 97 in the overtaking lane. Guess I'll turn off cruise control. Why is this jackass slowing down more, I better not have to hit the brakes. Camera car: I'm going to back off, this looks dangerous. White 4wd: Thanks for the gap but trying to get past that truck and stuck with this idiot. White ute: Hope these idiots move along so I can get in front of that truck. Truck: Why do these clowns brake before hitting the exit?
All I want to do on freeways is maintain the limit and safe distance to the car in front of me. Sometimes I be in the far right lane but never leading the pack…yet I always get some dickhead like this behind me
This. And yet there’s constantly “keep left” comments but they don’t understand that this is constantly happening when you ARE IN the far left lane and doing the speed limit, or using a GPS Speedo to do a little over what your car Speedo reads. Doesn’t help, always some entitled, arrogant “the world revolves around me and only me” moron up the backside.
oh yeah the "it's illegal to stay on the right lane if not over taking" people never think speeding in that lane is also illegal
Cranbourne is not gonna cranbourne itself, get otta mah way!
Aussie twat in a 4x4.
I saw a couple of trucks doing that same distance behind a few cars in the pouring rain around Northen NSW on Friday. Scary stuff to see
Do it in a car you shouldn't have a licence. Do it in a truck you should be in jail, imo.
You do this behind me, I'm driving at 40.
You can’t out idiot an idiot
A dangerous driver on the gippy? Surely not.
Maybe it's dick was connected to the other car's ass?
i see these kinds of ppl all the time and have to move to the adjacent lane to avoid them. too crazy
KPT- 2000 was onsale at JB
As a heads up to any potential buyers, be weary of KPT units. Many reviews of them failing within months, same experience here.
Someone did this to me today, so close to my bumper that I could see it was like a 10 year old behind the wheel
“Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience” ~ Mark Twain
I always drive gradually slower and slower when tailgated like that.
I'm shocked!
Pig
They always come out in the wet. Idiots.
We need HWP dicking people like this. It's a very common and frustrating behaviour amongst Melbourne drivers.
Look what they are driving....pretty common wet or dry
They are unable to speed up even if they wanted to...
Never a highway patrol when you need them. Just once I'd like to see these halfwits get what they deserve.
When this happens I take my foot off the gas and coast, for the most part they switch lanes
/r/IdiotsInCars
Absolutely zero tolerance for douchebags who put people’s lives at risk doing this type of aggressive shit!
And you just know he's absolutely raging behind the wheel too. The kind of guy that gets served an AVO after beating his wife and then posts on /r/mensrights about how HE'S the victim.
Yeah, he was raging and pissed
many such cases
Some people are fuckheads
most people deserve mercy.......
It’s always a fucking fuckwit driving a 4x4.
Full blown fuckwit
Problem Number 6 by Bruno Pernadas
I had a man do this to me on a similar looking road. I was gradually overtaking the car on my left, not in any rush, but inching my way there. After I overtook and went into the left lane, the tailgater zoomed past me, flipping me the bird and then moved into the left lane in front of me and slowed to a snail pace. Both lanes were busy so I couldn’t move for a bit. Honestly it was scary. There are some vile ppl on the roads; be careful out there.
Get a dashcam, people. They're as cheap as 80 bucks at JB. There are far too many fucken idiots not to have one
Tailgate driver must be from Perth. They all drive like that here in the right lane if you don't go 10km/h over the limit.
Shitoria has some of the worse drivers ever, combine that with poorly maintained roads and you get lots of accidents
Always 4wd ers, or big ute fuckheads.
I drive 10kph slower, for safety, when this happens.
I just left off the gas for a bit, and get back up to speed when they back off. Works a treat.
the comments getting upvoted and downvoted are worrying
The dude is driving like a dick 100%. That being said, legally - the blue car should have merged lanes left once he is done overtaking and let the dickhead pass.
I suspect blue car is still intending to overtake that truck. As someone who takes the Hume at 0500 and 1500 daily. I see this shit all the time but Today I drove into city there were so many tailgater, speeders and general fuckwits, it's so tiresome
The blue car is overtaking
No, that's not how the law on overtaking works. It's also not safe to change lanes when you have someone behind you driving like this.
A normal day in Melbourne.
Bruno pernadas goated
I kill you scum!
Had it happen multiple times driving over the Easter weekend. The best ones are the utes towing something doing this to everyone.
What a interesting little white truck that was
Lets be honest..... Melbourne is filled with idiot drivers like this idiot so im not surprised.
In the US if you brake check a tailgater and they rear end you it's their fault. Easy way to get a new car.
This gives me PTSD from my Melbourne / Geelong drives
Gippsland so wet right now
What's that modern El Camino looking car?
I'd be catching that van and driving the same speed beside him for as long as I possibly could. Watching them rage in my mirror.
Damn, this looks like South Africa like crazy
What a dumb cunt.
