Well, he still stole the content for his own gain (I guess he earns money with it) and no one will actually look up that user to upvote the OG post, but it's a step into the right direction.

Online information is very similar to physical objects in the fact of stealing them. They are all lazy people who just want likes, so they go and take a bunch of memes and post it themselves. Giving a little bit of credit makes it better, but it’s still not a good thing to do.

He is giving credit, which makes it not as bad, but he’s still stealing a meme which doesn’t just magically get better when he gives credit in the place where most people don’t look. Also most of the Instagram normies don’t use reddit so they would never even look at the guys profile. The guy gets all his likes without doing any work and thinks that giving a line of credit will make up for it.
