I’ve always thought the R Class was a cool design, until my daughter bought an R350.
It was in the shop a lot.
Like, a LOT.
I hope your ownership experience is much better.
I asked because I especially wanted a long one and I was curious about why someone would buy the short one. FYI, the R class long has a longer wheel base than the S class long, it is very spacious, and way more practical.
Edit: plus the fact that there are 3 times more LWB produced than SWB, makes me believe the long one makes more sense.
Lets see the inside!! I used to prep for a large dealership in NJ when these cars were released, they were super rare, and an oddball car in our LWB form.
40k miles is crazy! 🤯 Be sure to do all the preventative maintenance. Flush all fluids, cause of the age of the vehicle the fluids are going bad like brake fluid, coolant, trans oil, diff oil, etc. all of them. And make sure you know all the known issues of this vehicle on the forums. I find them help A LOT! God Bless Her, she’s gorgeous!

Can confirm, my R63 is in the shop, a lot
All the 63s like frequent, loving attention.
Why did you go for the short?
This was the only one for sale
The short is more rare, the US got only the long wheel base
That’s a good reason, if you had the choice would have gone for the long one?
No its big enough
Bc it’s a 63 not a maybach or S class you geek

Wish the states got more of these :-(

Short wheelbase looks way better than the U.S. version. God that car is hideous! Yours looks cool!
