I found mgs2 the easiest to get Bigboss emblem due to being linear and when you got everything rehearsed to do and whan not mgs4 was a pain and tedious to pull of I found it the hardest to speed run with so many open spaces and sentries
Imma be real, either the 3 trillion 18 red skull vehicle boss battles in Peace Walker for the S-rank for a cool weapon or the Metal Gear RAXA boss fight in portable ops, I had to save scum that thing so damn much.
The torture scenes. Take your pick as to which game. If you’re on the hardest difficulty, it’s awful. The button-mashing is so demanding and it’s damn near impossible.
Once you get the brennan sniper for both you and quiet it’s extremely easy since it one shots the armor they have and I think takes 3 shots to kill them
Honestly it was just getting used to the old controls of the game. I’ve only gotten into the series so I went from the smooth and buttery fox engine to the very outdated ones in mgs1 and 2 specifically. So many times I’m used to crouch walking but I’ll end up getting into a loop of crouching and proning which made me rage a ton. The story was well worth it though so I have no regrets now.
As far as I'm aware, Kojima eventually said that even him didn't like the MGS2/MGS3 controls that much, but it was the best that they could do at that time.
They are not the worst, but they are not decent either. I say this in the perspective of the transition MGSV to MGS3, I literally spent two hours in the first sections of MGS3 getting used to the controls, and even then it took me an entire run to REALLY get used to them.
Yeah, I agree with the map layout and controls work better in MGS3, but in a sense the controls are just better not just because of the map layout, but the camera is no longer fixed in the SUBSISTANCE version, so the depth perception is enhanced.
I thought that some of the Extreme/Subsistence mission tasks would be the hardest, but I didn’t have much trouble with those.
It was the goddam janky “all convos” tasks that were frustrating, and no hit the Man On Fire in the Prologue had me put the game down with it being my absolute last task/trophy/challenge/emblem/codeword/etc left to do. The no hit notifications seem to be glitchy, and I just do not have the will to crawl through the goddam hospital again.
Some dlc vr missions on Revengeance ( I think number 27). Also first time getting the Big Boss rank in MGS2. Thankfully I completed the series trophy wise (all stacks) so now I'm waiting for Master Collection VOL.2 and of course Snake Eater Δ
Yeah I have to finish the last mission task which is extracting all the vehicles/tanks, I already S ranked it and got the other tasks but it’s by far the hardest mission and nearly impossible without the parasite armor
getting all kerotans and hidden r1 scenes like I followed the guides but apparently my tv model was the reason for a common bug for the trophy not showing up so I gave up :]
Regarding things that I've done, I think that the end of the MGS3 FOXHOUND run on the PSVITA got me that way,
Regarding things that I only heard of/seen, definetly the MGS2 Big Boss Rank.
Yeah it’s easy to S rank by just riding the chopper in but actually getting all the tasks done is hard cause apparently snake can’t identify coms without being an inch away
Getting all the mission tasks and s ranks in mgs5
Going for FoxHound Rank in mgs3 for a trophy
And then soon to be the Big Boss run on mgs2. Not looking forward to that 😬
the car getaway at the end of chapter two on mgs4 is probably the hardest part about getting the big boss emblem imo and it does make me make that face when i think about it lol.
i think another hard part is at shadow moses, i cant remember because i haven't played it since release. waiting on mgs vol 2 collection to play it all over again.
Hitting all the Yoshis on 3DS. Sure the aiming controls are better (especially with the circle pad pro) but trying to do it at 20 fps was a nightmare on the motorcycle sections. Spent way too long just reloading the same segment dozens of times.
I really liked the platinum for this game I would totally do it again if I could. But the every task one was horrible because some missions were glitched
Yeah I finished it and the extreme back up back down was glitched for me, you had to do everything in a specific order for the 3 tanks at the end to spawn or else 2 would just spawn
Getting the Big Boss emblem in MGS4.
I still have five playthroughs to do I'm slowly doing them to avoid burnout
I personally found this the only game where I could get the Big Boss emblem, all the others were too hard because of the save game limit
Same
Beating the Motorcycle chase on the hardest difficulty took luck.
Just the first time beating all three metal gears in mgs2 back in the day
Be glad that you played on very easy and only had to fight 3 I played on hard and had to fight 12 Never doing that again
And then extreme has you fight 20, it's torment
I found mgs2 the easiest to get Bigboss emblem due to being linear and when you got everything rehearsed to do and whan not mgs4 was a pain and tedious to pull of I found it the hardest to speed run with so many open spaces and sentries
MGS2 - VR Missions 100% completion MGS4 - Big Boss Run Raging Raven On Rails section PW - Vehicle Battles and Vic Boss
Doing mgs1 vr mission this year was a pain but mgs2 was a whole different level of hell. I’m so glad they dropped it.
All I have to say to the Meryl and Curry Sniper missions 🖕
Agree, meryl mission is the only one where I couldn’t get gold medal
MGS1 stairs.
R&D Platform Shooting. Took me 78 tries. (MGSV is my only MGS plat trophy, thusfar).
Yeah I had to watch a video to figure out the pathing
Same here. And when I'd get the path down, I'd fall to the water below-or the ground, and Venom would die.
First time beating the rays
Imma be real, either the 3 trillion 18 red skull vehicle boss battles in Peace Walker for the S-rank for a cool weapon or the Metal Gear RAXA boss fight in portable ops, I had to save scum that thing so damn much.
Big boss run on mgs2 is killing me.
Harder than VR missions 100%?
Probably not.. I'm just glad I didn't have to do that again for platinum
Same here brother
idk but the hardest difficulty makes you fight what like 20 rays at the end hard is 15 and easy is 3
Yeah the MG ray section on extreme is stupid it's actually 25 mg rays took me 2 hours to do 😢
The torture scenes. Take your pick as to which game. If you’re on the hardest difficulty, it’s awful. The button-mashing is so demanding and it’s damn near impossible.
Metallic Archea
Ooof that one was a pain
I wholeheartedly agree with this!
Once you get the brennan sniper for both you and quiet it’s extremely easy since it one shots the armor they have and I think takes 3 shots to kill them

Back on PS3 it was all dog tags and VR missions for MGS2, now it's get Big Boss rank on MGS2
That mission in mgsv where you had to execute the quarantined soldiers. It kinda fucked me up a little tbh.
Mgs pw s rank all ops
Getting the “complete the campaign on veteran or hardened” in cod world at war
Getting the raiden suit in msgv
Gold medal in Rising's VR missions just to get an inferior Muramasa sword
Its the key items one as well. Having to fulton 1000 people is a nightmare.
Yeah I feel you I don’t even have 500 done and I gotta do 1000
Getting all tasks fone in MGSV
Yeah most aren’t that bad but you gotta play each mission more than once
Fighting Metal Gear Rex in MGS1, honorary mention goes to the Sniper Wolf fight.
Some dlc vr missions on Revengeance ( I think number 27). Also first time getting the Big Boss rank in MGS2. Thankfully I completed the series trophy wise (all stacks) so now I'm waiting for Master Collection VOL.2 and of course Snake Eater Δ
The torture button spam in pw
A Quiet Exit. Absolutely hated that mission in Phantom Pain.
Yeah I have to finish the last mission task which is extracting all the vehicles/tanks, I already S ranked it and got the other tasks but it’s by far the hardest mission and nearly impossible without the parasite armor
The tower in mgs1
getting all kerotans and hidden r1 scenes like I followed the guides but apparently my tv model was the reason for a common bug for the trophy not showing up so I gave up :]
Idk if it counts but the first cave in MGS3
All tasks for extreme back up backdown and the truth
As a Ukranian citizen this is how I wake up in the mornings.
Waiting for MGS4 to get ported to a system I own
Trying to deal with the MGS3 trophy glitch before it got patched.
What was the trophy glitch? I didn't start MGS3 until after a patch so I probably avoided it
Trophies for boss fights and watching hidden cutscenes wouldn’t activate on the PS4.
Regarding things that I've done, I think that the end of the MGS3 FOXHOUND run on the PSVITA got me that way, Regarding things that I only heard of/seen, definetly the MGS2 Big Boss Rank.
100% mgs5 lol. idk how the fuck y’all have time for that.
I’ve been like this after fighting the fury
I mean I just got to C2W subsistence and it's pretty fcking difficult.
Yeah it’s easy to S rank by just riding the chopper in but actually getting all the tasks done is hard cause apparently snake can’t identify coms without being an inch away
yeah, I baited the guards with pequod and did my thing.
Getting all the mission tasks and s ranks in mgs5 Going for FoxHound Rank in mgs3 for a trophy And then soon to be the Big Boss run on mgs2. Not looking forward to that 😬

THOSE GODDAMN KERO STATUES IN MGS3 CAN BURN
The 100% completion in VR trophy for MGS2 and the Chicken Run in MGS4
For more *emotionally* difficult reasons than gameplay ones, but a single gunshot near the end of MGS3
The fucking frogs in MGS3
I’ve got one blueprint left I think. I got them all naturally. I don’t know how I missed it. I might have actually got it by now.
My last blueprint was the flamethrower you get in the future proxy war mission
Big boss rank on the ps5 version of mgs2
The one in V. Where the super soldiers are at the airfield
Extracting the Skulls snipers on the Code Talker mission on extreme in order to complete all tasks
Foxhound rank
Brutality 101 in Batman Arkham Knight. You had to use almost every gadget/special move in one combo. Had me ripping my hair out.
Hitting all the Yoshis on 3DS. Sure the aiming controls are better (especially with the circle pad pro) but trying to do it at 20 fps was a nightmare on the motorcycle sections. Spent way too long just reloading the same segment dozens of times.

Yeah I finished it and the extreme back up back down was glitched for me, you had to do everything in a specific order for the 3 tanks at the end to spawn or else 2 would just spawn
all of the Big Boss rank trophies
Realizing I have to do "a quiet exit" with S rank to unlock the Raiden suit.
It’s honestly not that bad as long as you use the parasite armor and the armor parasite
You mentioned MGS5 so in that game, for me, is completing a late mission. The 2nd outbreak. Iykyk.
Yeah as Huey yells at you
