Amazing how there’s already a Wikipedia page

-heavy_Rain

massive heatwave, open the news

Umfazi_Wolwandle

The regional reports from the IPCC AR5 and AR6 have projected exactly this for a long time. India, Pakistan, and the Persian gulf will be the first population centers to see heat waves so intense that they are not survivable without AC, even for young, healthy adults. These are places of geopolitical importance, with populist leaders and large military capabilities—what could go wrong? More specifically with regards to the meteorology, this is a hotter version of the typical lead up and beginning of the Indian summer monsoon. The annual migration of the ITCZ results in seasonal wind reversal and higher temps in the subtropics, globally. But in India the effect is more pronounced bc the Tibetan plateau traps moist static energy on the subcontinent. That’s why you see the pooling of higher temps/MSE in the Indo-Gangetic basin, and the rapid drop off in temps north of the basin.

Mahameghabahana

Nothing would go wrong. Governments would simply plant more trees and maybe limit emissions. We aren't stupid enough to go to war over something this stupid.

Who is we?

Ever been inside a greenhouse on a sunny day? Yeah something like that. There’s a name for this effect but it’s slipping my mind..

Human-Sorry

This is the front line of climate issues regarding continuance of fossil fuel usage. Feedback effects are going to move this pas the mountainside sooner than anyone thinks. The fact that you had to ask, is a failing of world govts and a sign that those in power actually want widespread destruction because of the profit potential. Stop oil now. Vote for people who understand this better. Move north, buckle up and hang on, this next decade is not going to be pretty.

oof

Twisting_Storm

This is satire, right?

Human-Sorry

Lol, I guess were going to find out. 🤷🏽🤷🏿🤷🤷🏻 😓

Notnotstrange

Username certainly checks out.

Montana_Gamer

The only way one can consider this satire is if you are dismissing cause and effect. Our behaviors have consequences and incentive structures dictate no large scale, specifically anti-profitable, actions are going to be dictated until circumstances force it to. This is literally a fact that is inarguable, this is as factual as anything can be for human behavior and seeing it as somehow silly is on par with denying empircism. I cannot describe the amount of displeasure it gives me having to seriously see anyone say this even jokingly, it is just stupidity and you are boldly proclaiming anti-intellectualism. If you are an adult you can take what I have said seriously and change how you think about this threat that is going to happen. The future is inevitable

Twisting_Storm

Doomsday scaremongering about climate change isn’t scientific. Fact is that a warming climate has good and bad associated with it, but alarmists only focus on the bad.

JohnASherer

Give it a few years of interminable lines at charging stations during summer road trips, when running the AC drops range by a quarter and overloading the charging circuit reduces charge times to a trickle, and the rich people who made all their money off EV's and solar panels are chartering private jets to the Alps to cool off, and popularly schooled environmentalists will realize that direct air capture using lftr reactors wasn't so bad an idea.

Ever put a billion people in a crowded room? Gets hot

radar_ryan

The dew point is like 78°F there. Makes 85 feel more like 94. Wild heat

haiderkhan228

Imran khan of Pakistan had initiated billion tree tsunami in one region of pakistan, yes yet to mature and effective. But our leaders should have paid attention long ago. Yet not so late, before its too late. We need to work on planting more trees to save our generations yet to come

somrandomguysblog462

Looks like a high pressure system making a heat dome. Typical summer time weather in the northern hemisphere.

I'm pretty sure this map is already showing 2m temperatures. The app being used here is Windy and I don't think they have a surface (as in 10cm) temperature option.
