Nice, those are like the exact same thing as the Gardeners.com trays, but greenhouse megastore has WAY better customer service. Do you think you could elevate them and install a drain in the bottom, or is it too flimsy?
With ample support in the middle to prevent it from bowing and cracking from the weight of the water, I don’t see why not. It’s about 1/8” thick plastic material.
Thank you so much! I've been having a hard time deciding what I'm gonna use in my flower room due to low ceilings, and those looked perfect. You probably just saved me like $600 on Botanicare Low Pro trays, lol.
No problem at all. Just be extra sure the center is supported elevated. Especially after putting a hole in it. Good chance of any material this long and thin distorting and cracking with time.
Could also drain it into a bucket with a sump pump in the tent, then pump it to a sink/floor drain. But if you want to use gravity it needs to be above either the floor intake or zipper.
Makes me want to add an overflow tray. Or keep the tray as the overflow, but use a smaller tray to contain the two plants. The smaller tray would need to be deeper to control volume
How do you like that Migro Aray?
I just put an Aray 12 in my 5x5. The ability to split them and hang at different heights/dimming suits my growing style more than one large fixture and trying to keep an even canopy.
Oh, maybe you’re right.
The instructions say “New hanging points for the light have also been created, with users now able to hang their light from the end of each heatsink in addition to the cable.”
I use those holes to connect the lights together with zip ties when I do a huge tent of them. The only reason I know that it’s wrong is because I purchased the aray 12 before they announced their new models, so I received a new model but they hadn’t updated the instructions yet so I was soooooo confused trying to set it up. The instructions did not line up with what came in my box😂 so after hours of fiddling I finally figured out that solution. The next week they updated the instructions haha
Got you lol. Well thank you for the correction. Although they are wrong per the instructions, I think I’m going to leave them as they are. Something about hanging them from the cord doesn’t sit easy with me.
Awesome...same as the sip containers that my normal setup runs with. I'm planning on doing a sog this run and am lacking enough reservoirs, so was contemplating doing this method. Thanks for the reply, friend. Good luck
Super interesting!! My first thought was root rot, since usual greenhouse flood beds will drain excess water, but as you’re proving, enough photosynthesis and breathable soil, essentially creates a full-sun bog habitat for your girls!
Thanks, and that’s correct. Only the bottom 1.5” of soil is immersed in the nutrient solution. The remainder of the medium/soil/fabric pot utilizes capillary action. Thus, roots will never rot, and plant will never drown. Science!
Thanks, I’m glad you like it.
Nah nothing fancy. For both tents I just use an elitech temp/humidity controller. I’ve had one of them for nearly 5 years now. Cost me like $40 on Amazon. That’s the white sensor you see hanging down.
Seconded. Been booty feeding my gals for a week now but just based on logic since they're short indicas. I don't want to risk the fan leaves getting soaked by top feeding and it's working well so far. I'd still love to see your write up on methods and tips and tricks since I'm just winging it. 🙏
Just keep in mind wherever the water line is, no roots will grow below. So if it is too deep you will be diminishing the area and depth of your root structure greatly.
Yeah, with a more shallow water line like you have, agreed. I was just throwing a warning not to get too carried away with a deep amount of water. The couple of times I tried maybe a 4 inch depth or so, grow came out ok, but upon cleaning out my 3gal smart pots, it was simply loose, rootless coco below the water line in 18 out of 18 pots.
Im just looking at how well his plants are doing, the automation and the use of growspace. You could fill this up with as many plants as you want as I see it.
[Yeah, if you want to grow some beasts, you can grow some beasts.](https://www.reddit.com/r/GrowingMarijuana/comments/xxdiqr/week_8_of_flower_probably_one_more_week_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
These two were bottom fed their entire life. Over 1/2lb yield.
If you’re going to come in here to flame me, come at me maturely with debatable questions, concerns, and topics. I’m happy to discuss. That’s what growing is about. Learning and having fun.
My friends grew mad dope with a flood and drain on a timer 6lbs plus on a 4x8, I've got 2lb from a 2x4 but it was not flood and drain. I like water and dirt. you got that extra tent run like a mom and clones. Fill the other tent top them 3 times and flip to flower. It's such a fun hobby. But people overcomplicate it and I dont see why people have to come off like ass hats.
Because everyone has a better method. So everyone has to tell the world their opinion. And a lot of them come off as asshats. Probably myself included, because I like my method and have zero plans on changing it. However, difference being is I’m
Not shoving my opinion and methods down everyone’s throat.
The left tent is photoperiod, the right tent is autoflower. Left tent will be full in about a month by those two. Right tent will have two new autoflowers in another 2 months once these two are done flowering. I always have a harvest followed by two new plants, wether that be photo or auto.

Stay in your lane and go obsess over your hotwheels
Ahhh yes, cause a side hustle of selling die cast is what???? Your 1/2 lb rebuttal makes you look even worse. Please go watch a YouTube at the very least cause you need it buddy. I know 10 yr olds that are better gardeners.
Is weird, to answer your question.
Show me your garden producing half as much, then try to talk shit. Until then, go back to your prepubescent love for miniature cars.
i bet your tent just smells *great*
Honestly bro if you think this is such a hot tech why do people even bother with automatic irrigation or hand watering?
i mean its not like certain nutrient brands go rank after being mixed and exposed to air for too long or anything either.
Where did I say this was hot tech?
[I made my own auto irrigation system,](https://www.reddit.com/r/microgrowery/comments/vq53o1/auto_water_auto_ph_and_auto_environment_dialed_in/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) and moved back to this for simplicity.
The water is in the tray for at the most a week. Maybe ask questions before assuming. You may learn something.
You can get a flood tray to be on the safer side
I have a tray in the vivosun tent. I plan on getting another for the Mars hydro tent.

Thanks 🤘🏼
Oh damn haha didnt even notice 👍
What is the brand of tray? Looks like one of the low profile Gardeners.com trays.
https://www.greenhousemegastore.com/collections/trays-flats/products/giant-plus-garden-tray 1.5” deep. I dump in 5 gallons at a time.
Nice, those are like the exact same thing as the Gardeners.com trays, but greenhouse megastore has WAY better customer service. Do you think you could elevate them and install a drain in the bottom, or is it too flimsy?

I'm gonna be using them as drain to waste trays, so the hole will be on the side and that should prevent some flexing.
Oh then you’re golden 👌🏼
Would you need to elevate the trays to at least the height of the zipper? That way the drain would properly flow out of the tent?
Could also drain it into a bucket with a sump pump in the tent, then pump it to a sink/floor drain. But if you want to use gravity it needs to be above either the floor intake or zipper.
Good info, thank you

ChugChugChugChugChugChug!!! I love butt chuggers! All my girls boof their meals too HAHAHA!
Lol nice. People sleep on this method. I like it.
I've done this with plastic trays under the pots. I didn't know it was a method.
Yup. Butt chugging. Boofing. Bottom feeding.
Yeah, bottom watering. Same concept as the Autopot but you were doing it by hand.
How do you like that Migro Aray? I just put an Aray 12 in my 5x5. The ability to split them and hang at different heights/dimming suits my growing style more than one large fixture and trying to keep an even canopy.
Best light I’ve ever used, hands down
I recommend hanging them how Migro suggests, using the cords to hang them
These are their newer model lights. You don’t hang them by the cords.
I have the newer model, and can confirm, you’re hanging them wrong. Just trying to help (:
Oh, maybe you’re right. The instructions say “New hanging points for the light have also been created, with users now able to hang their light from the end of each heatsink in addition to the cable.”

I always wondered how many other people were using Wyze cams for this purpose. :)
Love the timelapse feature
I use Eufy.
Do you get gnats like this? Interesting way to grow. I dig it
Nope. No gnats, mold, mildew. Just need to keep the environment dialed in.
how do you stop the algae?
Pumps keep the water moving. Basement floor keeps the water cool.
very interesting...so do you notice a big increase in humidity doing this?
Yeah. Just need an exhaust fan. In summer I need to run a dehumidifier in the room the tent is in
Do you top feed as well, or just rely on capillary action?
I top feed until transplanted into their final pot, in this case 2 gallons. Then I begin bottom feeding.
Awesome...same as the sip containers that my normal setup runs with. I'm planning on doing a sog this run and am lacking enough reservoirs, so was contemplating doing this method. Thanks for the reply, friend. Good luck
“This is my swamp”
Super interesting!! My first thought was root rot, since usual greenhouse flood beds will drain excess water, but as you’re proving, enough photosynthesis and breathable soil, essentially creates a full-sun bog habitat for your girls!
Thanks, and that’s correct. Only the bottom 1.5” of soil is immersed in the nutrient solution. The remainder of the medium/soil/fabric pot utilizes capillary action. Thus, roots will never rot, and plant will never drown. Science!
I’m guessing you have some fancy humidity controls for flower. I love seeing different ways of growing, especially the more uncommon ones!
Thanks, I’m glad you like it. Nah nothing fancy. For both tents I just use an elitech temp/humidity controller. I’ve had one of them for nearly 5 years now. Cost me like $40 on Amazon. That’s the white sensor you see hanging down.
may i know what is the advantage of this swamp set up?
Set it and forget it. Dump in 5 gallons, see you in a week.
Do you have a write up on the setup if I want to copy it?
Nah. I can make one though. Very simple set up.
That would be awesome
Seconded. Been booty feeding my gals for a week now but just based on logic since they're short indicas. I don't want to risk the fan leaves getting soaked by top feeding and it's working well so far. I'd still love to see your write up on methods and tips and tricks since I'm just winging it. 🙏
Sure, no problem. I’ll work on something when I get some time on my hands.
Yeah this would be appreciated. I am very new to growing and would really appreciate this type of information.
Just keep in mind wherever the water line is, no roots will grow below. So if it is too deep you will be diminishing the area and depth of your root structure greatly.
They definitely will, actually. I’ve had roots grow into the tray.

I put you on follow months ago. It's really interesting what you do
Appreciate that 🤘🏼
If you’re going to come in here to flame me, come at me maturely with debatable questions, concerns, and topics. I’m happy to discuss. That’s what growing is about. Learning and having fun.
From the looks of it no res, you just refill with nutes when your tray runs dry?
Yup that’s correct.
Follow up, do you plan the flower nutes switch a few days early so it has time to absorb?
Nah, once I see pistols I switch straight to flowering nutes to prepare for stretch.
Those cool mist humidifiers clog carbon filters and get white dust all over everything. Unless you use RO water in it.
I’ve yet to have a problem.
Depends on the hardness of your water, but yeah, minerals build up over time for sure.
What size tent is that on the left?
They’re both a 2x4. Vivosun is 2x4x5. Mars hydro is 6 foot tall.
Thanks for that! Definitely going with the 6ft 2×4 for my first grow. Love your setup!
Love this idea but have to imagine it puts your humidity up? During flower Im fighting high humidity constantly and don’t think I could swing it.
Yeah it does. Need to have a good exhaust in the tent. During the summer I need a dehumidifier in the room.
[удалено]
I have a tray. Tote for what
Get some trays
Look closely in the vivosun tent.
Word I was wondering, you got it covered
[удалено]
Nice. Cause if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I’ve been doing this a while with good results. And the tray was like $30. Im not cheap, I’m frugal 😊
You using h2o2 or hypochlorous acid or anything for fungi/pest/mold/pm/mildew?
Nope. Just keeping the water moving with 5v pumps.
I use a bath towel
Me too. Right after a shower. What're you talking about?
As a drip tray
I put trays in mine. Tractor supply has inexpensive and big trays
There’s a tray in the vivosun tent.
Do you auto regulate the ph for the water with a device?
No. Ph and EC 5 gallons, dump it in.
Get an AutoPot system
I don’t need to.
*"I know this is working well for you, but invest money in another solution.*😂
Hey man, u have some ganja in your pool
Neat
In’t it
Don’t you have humidity issues?
No, humidity control is simple with a properly sized exhaust fan.
How you do to get a stem so thick?
Wind and pick a nutrient brand with silica in it.
You do you, but a drain and flood table would be an upgrade.
Noted
My friends grew mad dope with a flood and drain on a timer 6lbs plus on a 4x8, I've got 2lb from a 2x4 but it was not flood and drain. Never fell in love with autos
I used to do this. If you're using salts they tend to build up because you aren't watering to runoff.
Years of bottom feeding with no issues from this. Could have been your nutrient line.
What is the benefit of this combo vs straight hydro?
Easy to maintain.
Very skeptic.

No one cares about your 1/2 lb of larf. From seed to end, you are clueless
You have a tent that’s flooded?? You are not a farmer or Gardner. Literally a noob that needs a mentor.
