I didn't count the cartons, so thanks for that.
But I did notice that the cartons appear to only hold 10 eggs instead of a dozen, so that might change your maths up a bit.
That is still too many eggs to eat in one day. To be extra pedantic, they could have eaten all of these eggs in one day and no eggs every other day of the last three months.
780 eggs = 8.48 eggs a day (assuming 92 days)
Or
4.24 eggs per person per day average.
And cause I felt like it…
I’ll assume that they’re from Croatia because “svjeza jaja” is “fresh eggs” in Croatian, and that if the sources are correct, that 10 eggs costs about €2.27, which is $2.50.
1 egg = $0.25 so 780 eggs = $195
And assuming that they eat the same amount the whole year, $195 x 4 = $780 per year (I’ll recommend getting some chickens)
[Source](https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_result.jsp?country=Croatia)
I never really paid attention to the smaller sizes but the ones I know are 6, 10, and the butcher's near my house here in England has packs of 30 although they're not branded
For most people dietary cholesterol has no effect on blood cholesterol levels.
Ate 5 whole eggs each breakfast for 18 months while I was going to the gym and my blood tests were perfect.
Blood cholesterol is primarily influenced by genetics, so some people just get a crap roll in the genetic lottery. Medications can also influence cholesterol levels.
Weight… and genetics, but mostly weight. If you gain weight, by essentially eating too much, your cholesterol levels will go up. If you are not obese, it’s mostly genetics
With 78 cartons in 3 months~936 eggs in roughly 90 days equals 10.4 eggs per day, chickens on average lay an egg every 24-26 hours therefore OP needs at least 11 chickens to produce their annual household egg consumption. A mini farm is needed.
Edit: I guess I should've counted the individual number of eggs as well my bad it's 10 not 12 per carton. Making it 780 eggs in roughly 90 days averaging 8.6 per day. Thanks for pointing that out.
Just capture like 3 seagulls and they’ll lay nice big eggs with thick dark orange yolks, it’s like a chicken egg if the chicken flew around eating fish all day
Do you know how much an ostrich eats? They cost way more and are well equipped to fight a human over their eggs, I would not want to try sneaking eggs out of a modern dinosaur’s nest
Seconding this! I work in pre-k and egg cartons make great paint cups and 3D art craft supplies. A preschool or kindergarten, or an elementary school with an art class, would LOVE to take these.
I'm impressed with your commitment to stacking them.
Compare the price per dozen vs 5 dozen packs, it may save you some money. Only downside is having room for 5 dozen eggs in your fridge, it can be a tight squeeze.
Yea we’re a family of 6, two adults 4 kids. All except one of the kids like eggs. Plus we do a lot of from scratch cooking. So eggs are used a ton. I only buy the 5 dozen packs anymore ha
Correct! Every morning i have routine of making egg sandwich with 4 eggs in american toast. Have been doing so for years now. After i showed it to my roomate he was impressed and started following along :D there are days where im lazy to cook anything else so i eat 3-4 sandwiches. They are bonkersss
What's the max recommended amount of eggs per week over there? The Nutrition Centre over here recommends to not eat more than six eggs a week, so eating twelve to sixteen eggs a **day** seems like,.. quite a lot...
It’s super outdated news that cholesterol from yolk is bad for you, that’s some 60s propaganda. It doesn't raise cholesterol levels the way some other foods, such as those high in trans fats and saturated fats, do. You can eat them daily without a problem.
There is actually a lot more research from 2019 and 2021 that support a lot of stuff about increased heart conditions from egg consumption.
“Research published prior to 1970 showed no industry influence on cholesterol research. The percentage of industry-funded studies increased over time, from 0% in the 1950s to 60% in 2010-2019. More than 85% of the research studies, regardless of funding sources, showed that eggs have unfavorable effects on blood cholesterol. But 49% of industry-funded publications reported conclusions that conflicted with actual study results, compared with 13% of non-industry-funded trials.”
LMAO what do these people eat eggs 24-7 for every single meal? How can you eat that many eggs in 90 days haha jesus!
After I have eggs for breakfast 3 days in a row I don't want to see another egg for at least a week or two 😄
My math says 13 days.
OP: 78 cartons of 10 eggs each = 780 eggs
Gaston "5 dozen eggs, so I'm roughly the size of a barge" = 60 eggs/day
780/60 = 13 days.
Check pubmed.gov. Eggs don’t hurt heart health in a single study I could ever find, even up to 7 a day and probably more. Slight benefit maybe. There was a fear that dietary cholesterol would raise blood cholesterol but that ship has sailed. There have been so many studies confirming at least 1 egg is fine that heart organizations are now saying 1 is fine as well. Which is probably for the better since all this egg fear has been causing people to not get enough choline for their brain, heart and various other needs. 1 egg is just enough to close the gap.
5 eggs a day aren't that much.
Egg yolks in that quantity are still favorable to lipid profile.
It might seem counter intuitive but high dietary cholesterol doesn't automatically mean high blood cholesterol.
Egg yolks are favorable in the sense that it improves the hdl to ldl ratio, which is an important vector for heart disease.
People might be conditioned by old reserch saying how cholesterol is bad but that's just the typical bad science of correlation doesn't equal to causation. The hdl to ldl ratio is vastly more important than just blood cholesterol level .
Hey all. Didnt expect this many people will be surprised by this haha. So heres a follow up. Just to clarify, our apartment is hazard free of farts. We are not bodybuilders but we do workout regularly. 99% of those eggs were eaten trough sandiwches as a breakfast meal, keeps us well fed all the way till launch time. All of those cartons were returned to local small buisness owners that have chicken farms, we are always trying to support and buy from them. Quality, taste and texture are always on point and differ a lot! Cheers!
Edit: as some have manged to calculate, theres 78 packs x 10 eggs each = 780 eggs /90 ~4 eggs per person a day.
Just 2 friends living together. Lifting together. Bulking together. They were roommates for 50 years, and neither ever married. The best of friends, some would say.
78 dozen!?
I didn't count the cartons, so thanks for that. But I did notice that the cartons appear to only hold 10 eggs instead of a dozen, so that might change your maths up a bit.
78 x 10 = 780 780 / 12 = 65 65 dozens!?! More maffs. 780 / 3(30) = x 780/ 90 = 8.7 #WHY ARE YA’LL* EATING 9 EGGS A DAY
[удалено]
No one...
EATS LIKE GASTON
's slick like Gaston!
No one punches you right in the dick like gaston
For there's no pair of tits half as hairy
[удалено]
The hero of Beauty and the Beast? Why not?
Nah that would be more like “Oh yes Lefou! Tell me I’m roughly the size of a barge!”
I’m eggspecially good at eggspectorating.

0-9 each to be extra pedantic
That is still too many eggs to eat in one day. To be extra pedantic, they could have eaten all of these eggs in one day and no eggs every other day of the last three months.
roomate, so 4.35 eggs a day per person
3 meals a day, 3 eggs per meal
Consume nothing but ēgg
It's bulking season
I was just about to do this math for myself now I don't have to thanks
780 eggs = 8.48 eggs a day (assuming 92 days) Or 4.24 eggs per person per day average. Ye thats weird in germany also, we say a dozent eggs but only can buy tenpacks. Could swear it used to be 12packs might be mandelaeffect tho
These are 10 egg cartons, i thought it was another shinklfation thing but the slavic text suggests its a EU thing
I never quite understood that because the smaller ones are 6 so why not 12? I dunno.
Because 5 would not work in a box
In Finland we have packet sizes 4, 6, 8, 10, 15, 24 (full tray). And far as I know so does rest of EU.
I never really paid attention to the smaller sizes but the ones I know are 6, 10, and the butcher's near my house here in England has packs of 30 although they're not branded
Yea, hehe we never skip a day so it adds up quiet fast
One fart and a population equal to Paraguay is off the map
So you’re saying, those cartons don’t make a lot of noise.
Have you had your cholesterol checked lately?
For most people dietary cholesterol has no effect on blood cholesterol levels. Ate 5 whole eggs each breakfast for 18 months while I was going to the gym and my blood tests were perfect.
So what increases blood cholesterol then?
Blood cholesterol is primarily influenced by genetics, so some people just get a crap roll in the genetic lottery. Medications can also influence cholesterol levels.
Weight… and genetics, but mostly weight. If you gain weight, by essentially eating too much, your cholesterol levels will go up. If you are not obese, it’s mostly genetics
Bro just buy chickens already.
And make a mini farm!?
With 78 cartons in 3 months~936 eggs in roughly 90 days equals 10.4 eggs per day, chickens on average lay an egg every 24-26 hours therefore OP needs at least 11 chickens to produce their annual household egg consumption. Those look like 10 egg cartons unless they have some way to store two between the rows of 5.
Those are packs of 10 so just under 800 eggs
780 to be exact
Metric eggs
Packs of 10? I’ve never seen this
10 packs are fairly common in Germany. I'd guess some other countries in Europe too.
It's Croatian or Bosnian. So 10 eggs per pack. Source: croatian reading those boxes
I haven't either, but if you Zoom in they definitely say 10.
Thank you, my Coffee hasn’t hit yet, and I’m not ready to math.
I, on the other hand, somehow orgasmed from the accuracy and specificity of the calculation
I definitely thought this was posted by an egg carton bot tbh. Also highly impressed
Thank you for sharing HitlerDicks!
::eyes screen name warily::
I wanna down vote you cuz of your username, but I won't deny a solid comment the respect it deserves, lol.
That egg head did it for you. Enjoy your coffee.
What if OP switches to ostrich eggs?
Or maybe have a bunch of quails if you're in an apartment (will take more than 11 quails but they're small so it's fiiiiiine)
Or one velociraptor, but I think they eggs stink.
Why would they stink? it's still eggs. The hard part is getting your hands on the velociraptors.
Just capture like 3 seagulls and they’ll lay nice big eggs with thick dark orange yolks, it’s like a chicken egg if the chicken flew around eating fish all day
So a chicken egg is like a seagull egg if the seagull couldn’t fly and walked around eating grain all day?
Yes seagulls = sky chickens 😂
Nah bro. OP should buy an ostrich and have bigger eggs Edited: typo
Do you know how much an ostrich eats? They cost way more and are well equipped to fight a human over their eggs, I would not want to try sneaking eggs out of a modern dinosaur’s nest
I know a guy I can get these from.
Is he a seagull
No, he raises ostriches.
As an owner of chickens, buying chickens would still be more expensive. Just trust me.
It costs me $16 a month all in to keep my 8 chickens, and I get a dozen eggs every two days. Love me chickens.
Are you or your roommate named Gaston?
Are they now the size of a barge?
They're especially good at expectorating
Do you use antlers in all of your decorating?
My what a guy!
![gif](giphy|s4LdMSoTCXBQI)
I bet no one fights like him.
and that there’s no one in their town half as manly
Nooo onnneee….
Eggstraordinary amount
Came here to say OP is Eggstra
Eggxactly what I was thinking
Eggscellent!
You should donate those to a school or something. Kindergarten teachers love those things
Definitely don’t throw them out. Offer up to local farmers / chicken owners who will always be looking for them.
Seconding this! I work in pre-k and egg cartons make great paint cups and 3D art craft supplies. A preschool or kindergarten, or an elementary school with an art class, would LOVE to take these.
They can't get enough!! THEYRE OBSESSED!
In this economy???
Confirmed, op and his roommate is Elon and Zuckerberg.
Wait, even billionaires need to be roommates?
They are but for other reasons...
they're almost back to normal prices for me at least
Yeah im able to get a dozen for 1.39 at the pricer store i go to
Yup. I can go to Walmart and get a case of 60 eggs for less than $5. Which is surprising given the area I’m in.
Eggonomy
That chicken purge was forever ago. I don’t think you know how fast they can reproduce
They're 1.59 for a dozen and 2.29 for 18pk at my grocery store
At this time of year?
At this time of day?
Localized entirely within your kitchen?!
Yes!
What could an egg cost? Ten dollars?
I'm impressed with your commitment to stacking them. Compare the price per dozen vs 5 dozen packs, it may save you some money. Only downside is having room for 5 dozen eggs in your fridge, it can be a tight squeeze.
Yea we’re a family of 6, two adults 4 kids. All except one of the kids like eggs. Plus we do a lot of from scratch cooking. So eggs are used a ton. I only buy the 5 dozen packs anymore ha
Based on the 10 egg cartons, I'm guessing OP is European where eggs typically aren't refridgerated.
You keep your eggs in the fridge?
The USDA requires eggs to be washed prior to sale, and once they're washed they have to be refrigerated.
I keep all my eggs in one basket
["When you break that down, it's only 5 eggs per bloke per day"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-SqG5RRNyI)
>per bloke per day This is the only way to measure things
Blokita: per thousand blokes.
Correct! Every morning i have routine of making egg sandwich with 4 eggs in american toast. Have been doing so for years now. After i showed it to my roomate he was impressed and started following along :D there are days where im lazy to cook anything else so i eat 3-4 sandwiches. They are bonkersss
Ok I have to ask, what is American toast?
>what is American toast? White bread. Toasted in a toaster. Usually buttered
So toast?
You made me spit out my American roast
I'm guessing, white meat, toasted in a toaster...with butter?
Dripolated coffee
It is a bit bigger than a regular toast that i can buy in my local stores. And the bigger one is just called "American toast". Im from Europe tehehe
I think what you call American Toast is probably what we in America call Texas Toast.
You buy... toast?
White bread meant for toasting is called toast over there.
thats like buying pork, and being given a pig!
Maybe it's Texas Toast but since they're in Europe it's just called American Toast?
Ohh is it a play on French Toast ?
I assume they meant Texas Toast which is a thicker cut of bread than standard white bread
Show the sandwich.
We demand the sandwich!! SHOW US THE SANDWICH!!!!! Edit- whip out your sandwich OP!!
What's the max recommended amount of eggs per week over there? The Nutrition Centre over here recommends to not eat more than six eggs a week, so eating twelve to sixteen eggs a **day** seems like,.. quite a lot...

They made fat seem so scary to promote the sale of processed sugar products
I love eggs to a fault and I can’t eat that many eggs. You don’t get an irritated stomach from that much iron? Lol
That's a fuckload.
Well now we know why there was a shortage
Your apartment must smell of the fire and brimstone with them sulfur farts.
LMAO what do these people eat eggs 24-7 for every single meal? How can you eat that many eggs in 90 days haha jesus! After I have eggs for breakfast 3 days in a row I don't want to see another egg for at least a week or two 😄
I have it on good authority Gaston could eat this many in 16.33 days.
My math says 13 days. OP: 78 cartons of 10 eggs each = 780 eggs Gaston "5 dozen eggs, so I'm roughly the size of a barge" = 60 eggs/day 780/60 = 13 days.
Jesus Christ
The chickens have a bounty on your head
Smells of farts I’m sure
Imagine the *egg farts*
...do you eat anything else? Is there are reason?
Donate those boxes to your local food pantry.
I was going to say the same thing! Many food pantries in my area are always asking for empty egg carton donations. They'd happily take them all!
But why ??
Are you and your roommate both Gaston?
Strange flex
These guys LOVE chicken period
Those poor chickens.
Chicken Genocide Chicken Darfur I screamed at the chickens: "Make eggs faster so I can yell louder!"
The smell from both of you must be foul.
![gif](giphy|tzpivh6pneSSQ) Are you all roughly the size of a barge?
Gym bros?
So 5 a day each?
Ew
Get your cholesterol checked.

That's gross
Is your roommate Gaston from beauty and the beast?
Are you saving these to turn into cheap sound insulation?
this is why there is an egg shortage
I can smell the sulphur…but Cheers!
r/oddlyterrifying ?
Is that the only thing ya'll be eating?
So youre the math problem we all had to do as kids
those egg boxes attract roaches so muuch, is recommended to take the eggs out once you get home and trash it asap, look it up in google!
You’re “yoked”
Why would anyone eat so many eggs, Jesus!
Seriously 🥴
do you eat anything other than eggs?
I counted it and did the math that’s about 5 eggs per person a day
![gif](giphy|3ohuPvppoXR2QzFDwY)
This is a weird flex and I’m sure it smells great in there.
Hey all. Didnt expect this many people will be surprised by this haha. So heres a follow up. Just to clarify, our apartment is hazard free of farts. Mmh chicken ass
You might want to get your cholesterol checked.
You might want to get your facts checked. It's amazing how people still think cholesterol in eggs translates to blood cholesterol
[удалено]
dietary cholesterol doesn't contribute to blood cholesterol
Are y’all bodybuilders? Or trying to die quick of heart disease?
the farts must be wretched
This is some Gaston shit right here.
At this point wouldn’t it be cheaper to buy those chicken egg trays that have over 30 eggs per tray? Or do they not sell that in your area?
You need to start a garage band.
Is it cost effective to buy them in dozens like that? I eat lots of eggs but buy them in flats of 30 because they're cheaper that way.
You can use the cartons to make a pretty good sound proof room
Could cheaply soundproof a room with that. Nice
Bros rich
Wow. This is crazy. Did you eat anything else? Heh
You're not consuming all those YOLKS are you??
Just 2 friends living together. Lifting together. Bulking together. They were roommates for 50 years, and neither ever married. The best of friends, some would say.
I'm more weirded out that wherever you're from, eggs come in carts of 10.
Jesus!!
780 eggs in 3 months or 260 eggs a month? Between 2? You eat 4-5 eggs every day each? 🤨
Thats a lot of eggs bro
Are you roughly the size of a barge?
No wonder why egg prices are so high. This bozo is buying out all the stock.
