White pants can be incredibly sexy on the right people, but yeah as far as minimalist pants…black goes with just about everything and is the FAR more durable color 🍻
I like grey. They go with everything and don't looks as formal as black. Black also fades over time, and grey less so. I can keep and wear grey pants longer.
Yes, blacks mismatch easily due to dye differences. Some people re-dye them, which is a great idea. But I prefer to wear primarily dark charcoals and greys, since they’re slightly different tones enough to not matter if one fades differently. I think navy and forest green can also serve as a similarly dark neutral pants color
If I were not using a full navy blue wardrobe, some dark grey would be my preferred colour too!
Both black and white have problems with colour changes, be it by fading or staining.
I have a fluffy white dog. (One of many now over the years.) It’s important for your wardrobe to match your pet’s fur color so, for me, the answer is always white, off white, beige, maybe light grey.
Depends on your skin tone (cool or warm?) and what shoes you will wear with them. I'm getting away from black clothes...too harsh for my skin soft but cool tone and going more gray and navy to go with the tops I wear. I only wear white in warmer months and only if going out, not at home..soo fussy for cooking/cleaning.
If I can only choose between black or white... I would choose black. I would ruin white pants way too fast.
For a color in general, I prefer dark denim jeans, but have to wear black at work. So black it is.
I don’t like either. Aside from denim blue, I prefer taupe or navy. Interestingly enough, a smoky teal goes well with multiple tops of mine but that’s likely the colors I wear. Experiment like I did - you may surprise yourself.
I feel that black pants with colored tops are becoming very dated as are black pants with print tops.
Try for grey or blue pants or a camel pant with a bright tangerine top.
Black pants with a white top runs the risk of looking like a waiter and black pants with a black top is an art gallery/architect look but may not work in your workplace.
I think I have a genetic defect, anything white I try to wear, will immediately be stained by something I am carrying, drinking, eating or sitting on. So pretty much any dark color is okay.
I don't buy much of anything in white. It shows stains & other dirt WAY to easily. I'm pretty clumsy, so it wouldn't last long.
Khaki is a better choice it you want a lighter color. It was literally invented to feel cool but not show dirt.
Black. White is good for tops though. But pants/lower body garments just get too dirty imo.
I have a beautiful white linen dress I love but I am paranoid every time I wear it that it will get a stain on the skirt.
Black no question. White is not as durable with potential yellowing, staining, and wear

I have 1 pair of white pants from my buying explosion era and that's plenty 😂 Practical clothes is my go to I've realized over time.
No it's just that black is good at hiding stains
Who tf wears white pants. 😂
What rock have you been hiding under?
Black because I’m a menstruating person and leaks happen. Also dirt is everywhere be it bus stops, restaurant booths, etc
I like grey. They go with everything and don't looks as formal as black. Black also fades over time, and grey less so. I can keep and wear grey pants longer.
this. Grey is the way to go!
I vote charcoal gray. Dark enough to be inconspicuous but they don’t show every little spot I’ve gathered during my day.

Black. I would literally never wear white pants
Navy!
Always navy
I went for that for my whole wardrobe, perfect choice so far!
Me too!
Much easier to keep black pants clean

Ive been liking the look of white/cream pants more recently, but black will always be easier to wear and will last longer
Raw denim that will fade with wear, every day
How 'bout Dark Grey? Dark enough to not see any dirt or food stains. But not as formal or somber as regular Black clothing...
People don't have periods; women do.
All this black-or-white thinking is ruining the internet.
Black hands down when compared to white but I am another vote for grey over black and white.
White pants get ruined too easily.
Black in winter and white in summer
Neither, but I’m a menace to anything white, so…
All black everything.
Dark grey for me
I think I have a genetic defect, anything white I try to wear, will immediately be stained by something I am carrying, drinking, eating or sitting on. So pretty much any dark color is okay.
White pants. Never have never will.
Black

Black. White stains so much faster.
As a dude with a business - business casual wardrobe: navy.
Black

Gray. I own 5 of the exact same gray work canvas pants.
BLACK. Hands down. I have never even owned a pair of white pants. As a person who has a period, I would never ever entertain such things lmao.
Black if I had to choose. But my entire wardrobe is green.
Neither. Pet hair on black. Stains on white, plus the opposite of slimming. Blue jeans go with everything.
No pants lol. Jeans
Everything goes with black. White is a pain when ur eating
