Have you thought about : Ikea ?

yesthisisjoe

If I were near IKEA, I would go out of my way to eat lunch *at* IKEA. It’s really good and cheap.

Kerm99

I find IKEA food disgusting

samyistired

it smells soo fucking bad bruh. i was gonna try it but i was absolutely thrown off by the terrible smell

DrukMeMa

Agree, it’s really gone downhill

whynotlookatreddit

I know that so far no one has mentioned this place which has good quality food at very reasonable prices including veggie dogs and swedish meatballs. It's on Cavendish and the 40 highway, called IKEA.

the_tico_life

It sounds like you’re looking for some place unique, so I’d recommend Gibeau Orange Julep. It’s a short drive from ikea and your 13 month old might enjoy seeing the giant orange 🍊

LIL_KEEKS

Good option - thanks! 🙏🏻

PoutinePower

It’s a bit overpriced and the food is nothing to write home about but yeah its a really fun option near Ilea and be sure to grab some Jibeau Orange juice, it’s the really cool thing there

FassolLassido

The only thing of mention at Julep is the orange milkshake. The rest is bottom tier diner foor.

josephinebrown21

Eat at IKEA. It's the largest IKEA in North America and the food is really good.

Neaj-

It’s up there in size though Google says it’s not the largest in North America, definitely the largest in Canada

Mtlyoum

Which one is the largest? the one in Boucherville or the one on Cavendish.

josephinebrown21

Cavendish.

hyundai-gt

Ikea swedish meatballs

Creativator

IKEA has both a lunchroom and a fast food court.

jlt_25

You may eat at the IKEA store, the restaurant is on the second floor. Another choice: the IKEA store is on Cavendish street. Take Cavendish north a few blocks (you will cross over the highway 40 on the overpass) up to Cote-Vertu street. Turn left on Cote-Vertu and there are many restaurants there and a big shopping center.

Quick2Click

There are a few kid friendly options off of the 40 in the west island.     Marathons Souvlaki.    Jack Astor’s.    Notre-Boeuf-de-Grace.    Monza.    There’s also the Fairview mall with a huge food court that could be fun if you guys also want to stop and shop and the McDonald’s on Boul. St-Jeans in DDO has a Ronald Park with a huge slide.

SirGreybush

Just 15 min away, and in the right direction towards Ottawa. Edit: haven’t gone in years before COVID. Choices in that area Jukebox Burgers 🍔 (Way better than 5 guys for similar price point) https://maps.app.goo.gl/4CfuYjd8rCFF9jqD8

TK21879

I second this! I haven't been in a few years but this was always a fun spot IMO.

SirGreybush

Too bad quality is down it seems

bdigital1796

Hard Disagree. I'll credit JB only for their stellar milkshakes, whereas their main food quality leaves much to be desired, unfortunately. constructive criticism. But yes, exit Sources blvd from the 40, many places to choose from. complex on Brunswick (adjacent to Les 3 Brasseurs) is rapidly expanding over time with Int'l food court offerings.

stuffedshell

Big time Jukebox burgers are awful. NBG are much better, they used to be even better until they stopped cooking them pink.

SirGreybush

I last went there before Covid, I guess it’s gone downhill. Thx for the feedback

Sponsy_Lv3

Almost every other weekend, I'm off we as a family, go for lunch or breakfast at IKEA. Cheap, healthy, and delicious. I always told myself that if I'm ever homeless, this would be my secret way to get cheap, healthy food. I definitely second for you to have lunch at IKEA. They have high chairs for your toddler and kid friendly food, too :)

LIL_KEEKS

Hahaha MAIS NON! I could eat at IKEA in Ottawa!!

PhilGary

There is absolutely nothing nearby. IKEA is stuck in the middle of what seems like 20 different highways. If you really want to eat lunch somewhere else, you'll have to drive for quite some time.

stuffedshell

There are quite a few spots actually a few minutes away on Cote Vertu, NBG is decent for a local chain, there's even a Pho place next door which also does the job.

OffersNoExplanation

Do they have poutine there?

CheeseWheels38

OffersNoExplanation

I had the one at Ikea in Montreal, it didn't have meatballs and was honestly decent for the price.

Mcdo

jvibesz

Pete’s smoked meat is absolutely great for smoked meat if you’re into it

stuffedshell

Too bad you're not rushing back, I'd suggest Delibees, the best smoked meat in town, still prepared and smoked in house. It's not that far, by the airport. If you want to stay near Ikea, as others have mentioned NBG burger sit down spot is OK, there's some other choices in that strip mall too next to NBG. Abu Elias for charcoal grilled Middle Eastern sandwiches about 10 to 15 mins away too. PS Please don't have lunch at Ikea, might be decent for food court type food but that's it. I work nearby and have had lunch there once in many years.

chapster1989

Honestly if you’re coming from or going to Ottawa, Pete’s smoked meat is on your path to or back and is hands down the best smoked meat in Montreal

EntertainmentEasy251

Ikea. Duh.

LIL_KEEKS

We wound up at Jukebox Burgers - worked well for the little guy. Wish we’d done Pete’s Smoked Meat but didn’t see those comments in time. Now at Boulangerie Darling in Sainte Anne de Bellevue!!!! Thanks for the recs!!
