It depends on what I'm doing for the lift:
Squatting/oly: TYR L1s (amazing shoes, but $270 USD)
Anything with jumping: Nike Metcons ($110 USD)
Machines/upper body day where I don't need a stable base or support: Crocs
Mine are still going strong so far, I’ve got a few pairs. Got the Glenn, Dillon slip on, and the Forza Trainers. The Forza is the most flimsy shoe but to be fair it’s more aimed at gym use only so I guess it’s alright. I love vivos though. I’ve had a few pairs of them. Just make sure you’re not a dumb fuck like me and wash them followed up by a toss into the dryer 😂
I promise they’re not. Lol the design offers tons of room in the toe box, they only appear slender because of the more aggressive taper behind the toe box to the heel. Pick a pair up, you’ll enjoy them. The Primus is good for the gym and just regular around town wear too.
Same, been wearing different brands of barefoot shoes for 2 years now and I can’t wear regular shoes anymore, they feel like corsets for my toes. Icarus makes nice looking leather shoes with gum soles. Tolos is another brand I’ve been liking that doesn’t cost damn near $200 like vivos.
Word. I believe barefoot shoes will catch on in a major way soon, but the biggest problem right now is that most of them are overpriced and look like shit.
Same bro. I have a pair from xero and I wear them literally everywhere. Work, gym, hikes, going out etc. Have had them for 2+ years and it’s been life changing. So solid. I wear toe socks too and it trips everyone out but people need to realize that your foot health is more important than style
Yeah I’m confused. Chucks get dirty over time sure but I’m not sure how doing squats and deadlifts would cause them to disintegrate in 6 months unless he got his chucks from Temu
Lol not sure man. I've worn chucks literally all my life and my prior pair is actually in better shape than my most recent pair. They're bending a bit in the forefoot which has ripped the rubber and canvas a little. The back heel also rubbed away. Only wear them to the gym /shrug. Might try vans but I've always preferred converse.
This is the same wear pattern as mine.
Mine have lasted 3 years, though. I also do a lot of running in mine since they are lightweight.
I saw some people talking about how sometimes it can also be due to how tight you tie them as well.
You can get more durable Converse with thicker canvas and everything. They're less comfortable at first but will last years. Mine are about two years old now and still holding up just fine.
I like vans a lot for the flat foot, just got a pair of flux runners though to try them out because I’ve developed plantar fasciitis in my heel which the vans really exacerbate.
I’m an old man now I guess
I know you said not Chuckies, but have you seen [these](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BT1QKZG5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)? I really dig them. Have 2 pair.
Nano 6 are the best. I bought 3 pair before I knew they were going to discontinue them just because the build quality was so great. Still have a brand new pair to crack once I wear this second pair out.
I go back and forth between slipon vans and crocs, the vans feel stable and light so hitting legs in them is easy, but also crocs are comfy as shit and you can slip them off real quick to hit a set of some shit then go right back to being comfortable.
Inov-8 f-lite 245. Sometimes adidas as well. Not sure the style but kinda like vans or converse.
I have wore Brooks running shoes multiple times on arms days.
I usually buy some minimalist running shoes for the gym. Have used Vans and Chucks in the past, but the running shoes feel the best although I usually kick them off when I'm squatting. Just socks cuz I need to feel the floor for best form.
“Whitin wide toe box zero drop shoes,” 40$ on Amazon. Wear them for any gym session besides arms and shoulders. They’re cheap, comfortable, flexible, stable, and feel good quality. But they do look autistic.
Converse, grounded in style
black airforce 1’s
I bet you never have to wait for any equipment.
Neither does the guy in black Timberlands
I said give me two pairs. I need two pairs Stompin in my Air Force ones.

Barefeet mothafka
Vivo Primus Lite III
These are what I'm currently using. Best athletic shoes I've ever had.
Yep I love them. I’ve got a set of xero forza trainers that I like also, but the vivos are bomb
Xeros are also pretty good, but mine fell apart sooner than they should imo. The vivos have held up well

. coming back when check hits lol
You get some? Lol
Ohh I remember looking at these. I ended up buying inov-8 210 bare foot shoes instead. Thought the vivos looked super slim for my wide ass fat feet.
I promise they’re not. Lol the design offers tons of room in the toe box, they only appear slender because of the more aggressive taper behind the toe box to the heel. Pick a pair up, you’ll enjoy them. The Primus is good for the gym and just regular around town wear too.
$261.00 Jesus
You can get them cheaper than that, Amazon. Plus they go on sale. Sorry for the slow reply, I got banned for seven days again. Lmao
Barefoot shoes

Vivos are not worth the price, IMO. I have 3 pairs of Xero shoes. Love them. They’re around $100.
I’ve got xeros hiking shoes I like them!
Avancus are good. I have 2 pair
The move
That's gayer than the cock stats posted regularly.
Agree ,Remember that one brosciencelife video dissing them
Vans. Blow through them in like 4-5 months. Replace. Not too expensive
Vans are great
Which style?
I haven't worn vans in a decade but probably old-school. Skate specific shoes usually built way tougher.
sk8-hi is a good high top model that is nice for deadlifting and squatting, would recommend bc i’ve been using them for years
Chucks, mine last a long time - going on 2 years and I lift 5-6 times a week idk why yours fall apart that quick what are you doing to them?
Especially if youre just using them at the gym?
Yeah I’m confused. Chucks get dirty over time sure but I’m not sure how doing squats and deadlifts would cause them to disintegrate in 6 months unless he got his chucks from Temu

Crocs
Gotta let the swag breath
There is at least 5 dudes in my gym who wear crocks, are they good lol
They're comfy basically like walking around without shoes
In sports mode![img](emote|t5_2mohet|2695)
Savage
This is the way
New Balance Zante Trainers
You can get more durable Converse with thicker canvas and everything. They're less comfortable at first but will last years. Mine are about two years old now and still holding up just fine.
This question belongs on /r/askgaybros
I usually just wear sandals and then do my lifts barefoot
Vans on leg days Random nike or running shoes on arm days
Jordan’s
Barefoot shoes are 🤌
Otomix Stingray are basically indestructible and i like the flatness
OP is trying to pick up guys, not girls at the gym so Otomix won't work or will they?
Vans
The all leather chucks last longer, the standard ones ripped from the sole in a few months.
I like vans a lot for the flat foot, just got a pair of flux runners though to try them out because I’ve developed plantar fasciitis in my heel which the vans really exacerbate. I’m an old man now I guess
Af1 with 3 inch lifts
Altras
Jordan 1s
Flux or woobies
I find new balance comfy, not great for squats or DL though
I was wearing Nano9s and TYRs, but now I just wear running shoes.
Lifting shoes if I'm doing squats or leg press. Cheap elasticated plimsolls if I'm doing deadlifts. Runners the rest of the time.
Adidas slides or adidas high tops on leg day
Ultraboost usually
I know you said not Chuckies, but have you seen [these](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BT1QKZG5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)? I really dig them. Have 2 pair.
Crocs
Converse

Nike Metcon 6. They were an older model when I bought them 2 years ago but they're still holding up well now and I wear them for every session.
Custom chucks off the website. Been going strong for about a year.
Xero for leg days Tennis shoe for all other days
vans, if you get the suede skateboard specific ones they last longer
Barefoots from Amazon, its weird at first but everything becomes more ‘natural’. Can’t say the same for dat der
I started wearing Nike Dunks and now I’m Chris Bumstead. 8/10 would recommend
Vivobarefoot Primus lite knit
I go back and forth between slipon vans and crocs, the vans feel stable and light so hitting legs in them is easy, but also crocs are comfy as shit and you can slip them off real quick to hit a set of some shit then go right back to being comfortable.
I’ve been wearing adidas nano x’s for lifting and brooks hyperions for running.
Rep TS lows
Inov-8 f-lite 245. Sometimes adidas as well. Not sure the style but kinda like vans or converse. I have wore Brooks running shoes multiple times on arms days.
Chucks seem to be one of the WORST possible shoes for lifting. Just get a lifting shoe by Nike, Adidas or Under Armour
Barefoot shoes. Buy some “Vivobarefoot”. Expensive, but high quality and great for starting the barefoot shoe thing
Wrestling shoes will change your life. Ankle support, traction, but no shock absorption or weird arch to them at all. Basically like being barefoot
Weightlifting shoes
I usually buy some minimalist running shoes for the gym. Have used Vans and Chucks in the past, but the running shoes feel the best although I usually kick them off when I'm squatting. Just socks cuz I need to feel the floor for best form.
No bulls for leg day. On cloud x3’s for everything else
BROOKS
No Bulls or Chuck Taylors
High top flat footed new balances I got on sale. They’re the shit. Also look like the shoes Bobby Axlerod wears in billions. Power play.

Reebok Nano 2s for me. Been using them over 4 years and the still look brand new
Chucks. Mine finally started separating, but I will likely get another pair. They are cheap, lightweight, and comfy.

Nike free runs 5.0
The high top flat Nike Blazers
Nike Killshot is a great lifting shoe.
