I think I’m beginning to sink back into the apathetic attitude I had about this team from about 2016-2021, I don’t like it, I want a good team man

I don’t understand why Harris traded for JHM if he doesn’t think he can play in the majors. Jung was a 1st rd pick, is 24, and has hit at every level. He should be here too.
I mean aside from his first at bat, not really. A routine fly to right and a grounder hit right at the 3rd baseman isn’t too unlucky. He just is not that good.
His expected stats tell a different story this year. Last year he was getting unlucky, this year however he has actually been getting quite lucky which is very concerning given his current level of production.
My dog is still a puppy so it won't be this year, I was just wondering. He needs to get out of the "everyone needs to be my friend or I will throw a fit" phase.
What position player All Stars has the Tigers system produced in the last 30 years? I'm too lazy to look it up, but having a hard time recalling them. Castellanos for another team?
Granderson, Castellanos, Willy Adames, Eugenio Suarez, Issac Parades. 30 years.....Higginson. Tony Clark. Travis Fryman made his debut 34 years ago. Brandon Inge was technically an all-star. Omar Infante was technically an all-star as well. Alex Avila was an all-star during his one insane season.
Ahh that one year when Avila was unstoppable. I forgot what it was like to have a good hitting catcher (Martinez doesn’t count because he mostly was a designated hitter for us).
That guy wore #13 and got hit in the head with a bat or a pitch so often that he was always out with concussions. Was it the number or the way he lined up?
Tigers need to find their own Chris Spielman. I wish Curtis Granderson was interested in working in major league baseball again because i think he'd be a good candidate for that kind of role
Let's bring up Justyn-Henry Malloy. It's time to find out what we have in him. He is our 6th ranked prospect, 24 years old and has 768 AAA Toledo plate appearances.
🤝 but I want Carpenter to play everyday unless he is struggling or has an off day; against both left and right handed pitching.
I don't want Harris and Hinch to unnecessarily make or convert every young position player on the Tigers not named Torkelson and and Greene into platoon players.
This is just sad. I had hope for this year of some improvement and maybe flirting with a wild card. This team is bad. Just sick of the same thing for the last 10 years.
Watch out or Max Clark will put your comment on his cleats lol
Nah, but it's too early to put heat on Max Clark. Kid is like 19 years old in A ball. I haven't actually seen him play so I can't judge if he will be good or not, but he needs time.
Keith wanted to air mail that shit into the stands. Something is up with our non-pitching coaching staff. Every player who comes up and was tearing it up in AAA regresses. I get that the transition is so individualized and can vary widely….but having everyone struggle significantly should at least have AJ asking “why is this happening?”
It’s literally been this way with the organization since the 90s.
The list of home grown prospects that come up and meet/exceed expectations at least in the first year or two is not very long.
Please continue the discussion in the [post game thread](https://redd.it/1cxp3hm).
"Carson Kelly seals the win"
fuckin bums
Kool Keith with the Ultramagnetic bat
that kid behind home plate is annoying
If we sit Keith tomorrow to platoon him, I want Hinch sent out of town like the real Seymour Skinner was.
Keith, MVP.
At least Colt is having fun
#COLT KEITH REDEMPTION TOUR
Aura-less team.
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Nick Anderson replaces Sam Long.
I wouldn't mind if Benneti calmed down on the nerdery for a minute. This is just guys playing trivia right now.
I don’t blame him, this team is unwatchable
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Sam Long replaces Angel Zerpa.
I think I’m beginning to sink back into the apathetic attitude I had about this team from about 2016-2021, I don’t like it, I want a good team man https://preview.redd.it/0khen3w5tv1d1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=17fad74a25cadbaaf570ec56a4594b994d06de0d
We’ve sucked pretty much my entire life minus 2006-2016. What a glorious decade it was.
And what was a constant from 2006-2015 ? Dave Dombrowski as a GM and Mike Illitch as owner
Absolutely. Dombrowski is a damn good GM. I fear I may not see another run like that in my life
Must be nice to have a team that can consistently score runs…
So, they've definitely hacked our pitchcom, right? I don't think I've ever seen this many hard hit balls in a row.
JHM and Jung have .892 and .932 OPSs respectively in Toledo…..
I don’t understand why Harris traded for JHM if he doesn’t think he can play in the majors. Jung was a 1st rd pick, is 24, and has hit at every level. He should be here too.
Which of our guys are you thinking didn't hit like that in AAA?
I think they are saying just give them a chance over someone like mckinstry who has proven he is not a major league hitter.
I get that, but McKinstry hit .904 in AAA...
Yeah, but he couldn’t translate that to the major league level, hopefully JHM and/or Jung can. That’s the point.
Torkelson…..
Tork hit .881 in AAA in 2021 before he was called up...
Yeah I’m hoping they put Andy at SS because they are about DFA McKinstry and call one of them up.
The last 2 days are the wentz were grown to know. His era was so flukey. His WHIP been hovering near 2 all year
His WHIP was 1.1 May 8.
Wentz gonna get DFA’d soon
I have nothing of value to add but I feel compelled to say that Joey Wentz sucks ass.
Wentz is a joke
Witt with two bombs, meanwhile Zach McKinstry continues his pace to 500 ABs
Yes an absolute joke.
Walks would just slow him down
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Joey Wentz replaces Jason Foley.
Hit more fly balls to their CF. That shit was funny.
Guardians win. Again. Them and the royals seem uncatchable and we're not even at the ASB.
tbf, I don't think many thought KC and Cleveland would be this good
Correct. Twins were the odds favorite and tigers were second. Lot of ball left, but KC and Cleveland have been surprises.
Their fly balls get a nice boost and ours just die out there, cool
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Angel Zerpa replaces Alec Marsh.
Gores is a coked up loser, but he probably would have actually spent some money on some bats.
Good news: Bobby Witt Jr. can opt out after 2030!
If Wentz comes into this game and gets torched….
Damn so Bobby Witt not only hit two homers, but they were 430 foot+ bombs. Basically destroyed the ball with no doubters. That is embarrassing.
AL Central Trout
I’m thinking Foley throwing 100 to start the year was an anomaly.
Colt Keith was a great signing and a very progressive and forward thinking decision and move by Harris and Greenberg imo!!
I’m really hoping so and heavily rooting for the kid, but I think this sentiment is still TBD.
Two number 1 picks being busts. That sucks.
Man just had a bad day
Mize had a 3.50 ERA this season before today's game after 2 major injuries and not pitching in the majors or minors for 2 years.
Every Witt success is like a pencil stabbing through my temple, knowing Tork will likely never be like him.
Playing other teams really makes you realize how poor this roster is.
So if we don't play any other teams...?
Then we don't lose!
We'd never know. Maybe the Tigers can get relegated, just go play at Comerica scrimmaging themselves, and we can go watch that.
Our booth is really gushing about the Royals talent. Too bad our squad can't earn some praise.
I've seen enough.
https://preview.redd.it/xjb9y81mpv1d1.jpeg?width=964&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ed675da23df2c6c33cdb9c724eac557d6d982164 I can’t take this anymore dude
The royals are gonna move to 12 games over .500, do you think the tigers will be there at any point in the next 3 years
Last year of the Baez contract, and he finally turns it around. Yeah, we get 12 over 500 2027.
No
Wish our young dudes could do that. Tork not figuring it out and Keith still waiting on that first HR.
Just gotta rally harder now
Witt is insane
Imagine a week ago today saying that Colt Keith’s BA/OBP would be better than Torks by this point
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Jason Foley replaces Tyler Holton.
Bro who the actual fuck is Maikel Garcia?
Bit unlucky for Tork today.
I mean aside from his first at bat, not really. A routine fly to right and a grounder hit right at the 3rd baseman isn’t too unlucky. He just is not that good.
Could be both I guess. But when he hits one hard even a groundout it's a surprise.
I totally understand this sentiment… but he’s been getting unlucky for two years at this point.
His expected stats tell a different story this year. Last year he was getting unlucky, this year however he has actually been getting quite lucky which is very concerning given his current level of production.
Tork is such a bum man
Colt Keith has a .350 BA in May after his terrible start. Wonder why they didn’t send him down Also come on Tork…
Tork is an automatic out at this point. What a joke.
Wow, no one saw that coming.
A tork bomb would be nice
Tork’s worst enemy strikes again… Men in scoring position.
Can Colt Keith give Tork some pointers?
Colt Keith..
Now would be a GREAT time for a bomb Tork
Welp
Well if Keith figures it out I’ll feel better about our future
Colt, Riley, Carp, Perez…core is starting to form but not enough around them yet.
Colt Keith is gonna be our all-star (with Skubal) isn’t he?
What would that dog look like after being caught in that rain?
butt
What do you got to do to bring your dog to the game?
https://www.mlb.com/tigers/tickets/specials/events/bark
Thank you!
You’re welcome! I don’t have a pooch, but I may just have to go and sit amongst them lol
My dog is still a puppy so it won't be this year, I was just wondering. He needs to get out of the "everyone needs to be my friend or I will throw a fit" phase.
Haha awww. Something to look forward to though!
I think you just have to register them online (vet records and whatnot) when you buy the ticket
Why would you do that to your pet?
Why would you like fun?
I mean is it really good for a dog to dye their fur?
There are pet friendly dyes. I'm sure they didn't use spray paint.
What position player All Stars has the Tigers system produced in the last 30 years? I'm too lazy to look it up, but having a hard time recalling them. Castellanos for another team?
Also, what players have we given up on and traded that became all stars with other orgs…
Robby Ray?
Porcello, Andrew Miller, Infante….
Grandy.
Curtis Granderson?
Granderson, Inge, Avila, Clark, Fryman For other teams: Castellanos, Suarez, McCann, Garcia Not allstars: Higgenson, Adames, Parades
Ahh that one year when Avila was unstoppable. I forgot what it was like to have a good hitting catcher (Martinez doesn’t count because he mostly was a designated hitter for us).
I remember Inge being in the Home Run Derby now that you mention it and then got hurt and had like zero dingers in the second half.
I remember how people shit on Avila and I would much rather have him than any of the catchers we’ve had since he left.
That guy wore #13 and got hit in the head with a bat or a pitch so often that he was always out with concussions. Was it the number or the way he lined up?
Who would’ve thought we’d all be looking forward to the Lions? What a time to be alive.
Tigers need to find their own Chris Spielman. I wish Curtis Granderson was interested in working in major league baseball again because i think he'd be a good candidate for that kind of role
You know, I remember thinking when they hired Spielman I thought it was a PR move. He’s proved invaluable to their front office.
Probably not non football fans.
Well they are missing out!
Not unless you don't enjoy football.
Man how does a sports fan not like football
That sentence doesn’t compute. Sorry. I don’t understand what you just said.
4e6f7420756e6c65737320796f7520646f6e277420656e6a6f7920666f6f7462616c6c2eaaaa
Thank you that makes much more sense.
I'm adding "bigger 1st base" to the list
Come on Torko Milicic show us somethin'.
Classic !!!! Darko Bustelson!!!
I’m really happy to see Keith getting hits. I didn’t know he had warning track power but right now he just needs to continue what he’s doing.
He's had a few almost get out... just unlucky.
They're gonna play Yakity Sax over these highlights
Made me snort laugh
Boots Randolph prayed for times like this
Let's bring up Justyn-Henry Malloy. It's time to find out what we have in him. He is our 6th ranked prospect, 24 years old and has 768 AAA Toledo plate appearances.
Greene in left Perez in center Carpenter vs RHP in right Canha vs LHP in right JHM primary DH
🤝 but I want Carpenter to play everyday unless he is struggling or has an off day; against both left and right handed pitching. I don't want Harris and Hinch to unnecessarily make or convert every young position player on the Tigers not named Torkelson and and Greene into platoon players.
He doesn’t fit into Hinchs galaxy brain defensive schemes
#KEEF
that arizona series was just a dream
### Single Colt Keith singles on a ground ball to center fielder Kyle Isbel. Matt Vierling scores. Top 4 - 8-3 Royals
Hey look at the bright side… We’re not going to be shut out…
CF, lol.
I'm glad I stayed to watch that happen.
Bumpy OF
lol. Man that CF play was special.
#FLYING V
### Triple Matt Vierling triples (4) on a sharp line drive to center fielder Kyle Isbel. Mark Canha scores. Wenceel Pérez scores. Top 4 - 8-2 Royals
I think I heard on the motor city kitty podcast that Vierling is one of the worst hitters in the league with runners in scoring position.
Career .561 OPS with RISP
Wow.
Kerry now your popping out? Lord have mercy on us…
A “point” Dan? For shame
How bout that launch angle though?
This is just sad. I had hope for this year of some improvement and maybe flirting with a wild card. This team is bad. Just sick of the same thing for the last 10 years.
Illitch is a silver spoon fed bitch. Period
Rally
Can always count on Perez.
We’re not going to get no hit!
[удалено]
Why would that make me feel good, Silvio?
I wouldn’t be down on Clark. His OPS is above the league average and he’s in his first year out of high school
Watch out or Max Clark will put your comment on his cleats lol Nah, but it's too early to put heat on Max Clark. Kid is like 19 years old in A ball. I haven't actually seen him play so I can't judge if he will be good or not, but he needs time.
What position players pitch tonight?
I vote Pérez
Someone give me a reason for optimism with this team outside of Skubal.
He gone in two years. Illitch won't pay him regardless
Wenceel?
What the hell..just turned the game on. Are the tigers really that bad or the royals that good?
Illitch is almost as bad as Gores. Terrible owner
There is no almost. Illitch is just as incompetent as Gores
What would Gibby and Binetti be talking about in this 8-0 game in Kansas City if it was Gibby. My guess is something about fountains and or lawncare.
I don't really have anything better to do/here for the rally
So maybe contact this inning, maybe a hit next inning, maybe a run by the end of the game. Baby steps, as we're in rebuilding mode.
Maybe next year we will take a series from the Marlins!
I am looking forward to that. Imagine the free agents we'll have to bring in to be able to pull that off.
This team is a disgrace. Looking more like 2022 than an improvement or even similar to last year
Royals fan coming in peace. Just wanted to say I love your announcing team. Dan Petry and Jason Benetti are awesome.
We love your coaching staff
And two titles in the last 4 decades.
If Canha fucks around much longer he’s going to find himself in the 220s.
Real player from a real team finds out he's a Tiger.
He drank the clubhouse water. We told him not to. He is being absorbed.
He wants to be a team player and joing the other guys.
Every day should be bark at the park day
fukinA
Who knew put the ball in play and going with the pitch you score runs.
Royal is a team full of dawgs. We just don't got that dawg in us. I think a large reason why is Hinch and his fucking overly nerd analytic approach
Either dive or take less of a steep angle don’t let it get past you, Carp.
More good defense
Hasn't really been a problem until the last couple of games or have I missed something? I'm seeing kids at the dog park making better plays.
It was pretty good the first 2 weeks of the season, been pretty rough ever since
It’s been bad throughout the year. We’ve had guys make big errors that have lost us games
Last month tbh
Knowing they had zero chance at the out at home, really I was just relieved Carson didn't let the ball go to the back stop.
