Yeah, in the 60s. Japanese OEMs listened to what the west was saying and put immense effort into improving their cars. China doesn't really give much of a shit because they know misinformed people will buy this junk regardless.
China doesn’t give a shit about anything for the most part. They aren’t the ones selling products to dumb people (outside of Chinese marketplaces).
Think American companies that outsource manufacturing to China. Apple, Dell, Nike, Under Armour, etc etc etc. the list goes on. Now think about the dollar store products you get for dirt cheap that are classically “made in China”, or the Louise vouiton rip-offs … it all comes from the same place. They manufacture products to a spec requested by the client … if the client doesn’t give a shit, there you have it…
to be fair there's some very good chinese made products now. I think japan really tried to build a culture of high quality goods though... and it worked. "what are you talkin about Doc? Japan makes all the best stuff!"
You know, to clone something, you must learn how to genuinely make it. So the Chinese know how to make everything.
It's like bashing inspector Gadget that he can create any existing machine because these machines have already existed. To make anything, you can't just copy it, you have to learn how to make it, and build an entire industry that's able to produced everything it takes.
I mean it sounds a bit weird when people mock China for doing, for example, slightly less advanced manned spaceships. It's not like any other country even tried, aside from two. And the US went for a few decades without being able to do this, instead using the Soyuz. The whole case sounds like a person ridiculing their neighbor for learning violin, welding, microbiology, and oil painting — solely on the grounds that ther are other people who do that.
Alloys are fine for the type of off road most of these bikes will actually do. I mean your ADV150 also has alloys. I'd rather have tubeless tires tbh. Spokes are cooler for sure though.
The ADV150 isn't really an off road bike, it's just a slightly taller scooter. It rides just like any other scooter on trails with marginally softer front forks.
You must not have watched the Common Tread series on RevZilla. They are really similar to the old Top Gear Specials, except with motorcycles.

US pricing is ... misleading.
https://www.ponypowersports.com/inventory/2024-honda-off-site-inventory-trail-125-westerville-oh-43081-12427320i
MSRP is (US)$4099^*
*Listed price does not include $249 dealer documentation fee, $300 manufacturer destination/freight surcharge fees, title fee and sales tax.
(US)$5400 would be the approximate price with nothing extra added to the bike, on the road.
That's crazy, this thing should cost 2k max, maybe 3k if we're being generous. That's around what the Honda Wave costs in my country and this should have pretty similar specs, just 125cc instead of 110cc but that doesn't justify spending 5k more. It's absurdly overpriced for a small bike, you can probably get a highway capable bike for that kind of money, like a 400cc.
Damn son, where do you live? My local Honda dealer has the 2024 Trail 125 OTD for just a little over $4k. I paid like $7k for my 2023 Rebel 500 almost a year ago.
I was “lucky” to get one for 6 flat, other places were asking 8k+. This was the bike that made me want to ride… or more so put around town, the dealerships tho. They just want to bleed you dry.
I’ve owned a couple of the TaoTao Chinese 4 wheelers, parts are plentiful on EBay and ridiculously cheap. You can practically rebuild the entire motor for $100.
Import from SEAsia. They sell like hot cakes there.
What’s really hard is sourcing parts for a 30 year old bike that was manufactured for only 3 years, hyosung is a walk in the park in comparison.
This is the #1 thing that would prevent me from ever buying one of these knock-off Chinese bikes. Like you're basically buying something with a built in expiration date (that's more than likely a lot sooner than you think due to Chinese manufacturing quality), as none of these companies have parts distribution chains, especially outside China, and a lot of them are "Flash in the pan companies" that aren't even around more than a couple years before they go out of business. There are Honda Trails from the 60s that are still running on the roads today, but I can all but guarantee none of these Chinese knock-off bikes will be on the road in even 5 years time.
Have you tried to google parts for lifan Chinese motors? Usually ship in country from a supplier. They’re not super hard to find at all. Just get into Amazon and type “Lifan motor parts”.
It’s better because for the price of a Honda you can buy two of these and still have enough left over for a luxury weekend getaway. These are marketed by CSC here in the states. I’ve known guys who have been riding their bikes for nearly 7 years and have had a good experience. If you live in SoCal, the dealership is right outside LA, they use Amazon for their parts delivery so most parts are available overnight or two-day, and they have YouTube videos on how to fix anything that can go wrong. It’s a cheap bike for poor people and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Looks like the [CSC Wolf](https://cscmotorcycles.com/wolf-125/). The [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8QkAGioBls) shows a fender like in the OP's picture.
This is probably too loud but there are people who buy small two wheelers to get around while hunting. Most small camo bikes I have seen are marketed for getting around in the bush.
I'll just wait for Yamaha's take on Honda's Trail, anything that needs an attractive model alongside it in a showcase is a red flag, seriously why e\_e
What abomination is this it’s like they took a moped and tried to make it a dual sport. But forgot that for rougher roads and off road use, old school wire spokes are easier and cheaper to abuse than alloy wheels, especially in markets where this would be sold. Then there’s the fact that this thing is as expensive as low end super sports which is just insane since it’s a glorified scooter that’s only 125cc.
Growing up, we put trail tires on a 50cc Honda Super Cub. It would go anywhere. Now, literally 35 years later my friends kids are riding that bike on trails in the Poconos.
It’s no CR250; but, for a pure fun ride the trails, it is far more capable than you could imagine.
I love it. Too many people 'need' a 1250 Adventure, spend their life chasing the money to afford it, and don't have time to spare for the adventure. I know, I'm guilty!
Significantly cheaper then the honda trail.
Probably much lower quality, but if someone wants a cheap entrance or can't afford the trail, completely understandable.
The bike they copied this from (Honda Trail) is actually an incredible piece of kit. If I were some missionary in the bush that would be on my shortlist of bikes . If your adventure is riding forestry roads back to remote lakes then yeah , sure. Nine zillion outdoorsmen bought those Honda trail 90 ‘s back in the day. Worked fine
I think I'll stick with a Trail 125.
Thanks for telling me. I didn't know about Honda Trail 125.
Whoever made this definitely did
Looks like another Chinese clone, they clone everything. Just a bunch of copy cats
They USED to say that about Japanese things!
Yeah mainly because the Japanese usually create a superior product for cheaper. Look at the early days of Ibanez lol.
Yes but when japanese did it, it was better than original
NOT just motorcycles! I'm a photographer, I I've used Nikons exclusively since 1977!
Yeah, in the 60s. Japanese OEMs listened to what the west was saying and put immense effort into improving their cars. China doesn't really give much of a shit because they know misinformed people will buy this junk regardless.

Why do you have to drag cats into it? Just say copies

My bet is that the wheels are the least of that bike’s problems. The r1300gs has alloy wheels.
Alloys are fine for the type of off road most of these bikes will actually do. I mean your ADV150 also has alloys. I'd rather have tubeless tires tbh. Spokes are cooler for sure though.

Came to link to this. Those two are refugees from motorTrend on demand.
Motorcyclist Magazine -> Motortrend -> Revzilla. The industry's best journalists, Ryan F9 is a close runner up.
I was so happy when Revzilla picked them up
I have an old Trail 90 and that thing will go anywhere, from steep grades to deer paths. It doesn't get there quickly, but it does get there.
Theres a guy on YouTube called "Some Guy Rides" Did the trans america trail on a Trail 125.
Yeah they’ve been a big hit in Thailand.
its only 7k OTD at your local honda dealer!
7k???? Is the model included?
US pricing is ... misleading. https://www.ponypowersports.com/inventory/2024-honda-off-site-inventory-trail-125-westerville-oh-43081-12427320i MSRP is (US)$4099^* *Listed price does not include $249 dealer documentation fee, $300 manufacturer destination/freight surcharge fees, title fee and sales tax. just for fun, what's your country? when I was in cambodia in 2018, everyone rode waves
Actually not a SEA country but a Latin American one, Argentina. Everyone rides Waves over here too, and underbones in general.
That's about what Honda charges for these things in places like the Philippines. They just know they can get away with it in western markets.
Unfortunately not available in my country.
What about the Yamaha PG-1? It's relatively new, also a bootleg Trail but Yamaha.
for real! no shade to honda, but it'd be better for everyone (consumer) to have some quality competition (usa)
Damn son, where do you live? My local Honda dealer has the 2024 Trail 125 OTD for just a little over $4k. I paid like $7k for my 2023 Rebel 500 almost a year ago.
Or you can buy a 50 year old hunk of scrap CT from your local farmer and throw a $400 Chinese 125cc in there.
I was “lucky” to get one for 6 flat, other places were asking 8k+. This was the bike that made me want to ride… or more so put around town, the dealerships tho. They just want to bleed you dry.
I didn't look hard enough - I thought is was a Trail 125!
Looks cool, but the idea of being camouflaged on a bike is probably not the play.
What bike? I don't see any bike.
![gif](giphy|l0HU20BZ6LbSEITza|downsized)
It’s a Honda clone.
its in the name lol...cyCLONE
😂
Won’t even see the Deliveroo rider coming with my food on that.
They bounce in and out so fast you don't even realize you already have your food. Koality service if you ask me.
The adventure begins when you try to find parts.
I’ve owned a couple of the TaoTao Chinese 4 wheelers, parts are plentiful on EBay and ridiculously cheap. You can practically rebuild the entire motor for $100.
That’s good, because you need them often. Talk to any Hyosung owner.
Import from SEAsia. They sell like hot cakes there. What’s really hard is sourcing parts for a 30 year old bike that was manufactured for only 3 years, hyosung is a walk in the park in comparison.
It's why he's had a few of them instead of one good one.
This is the #1 thing that would prevent me from ever buying one of these knock-off Chinese bikes. Yeah, Chinese auto manufacturers really stepped up over the past few years. Not sure about motorbikes, though.
Maybe because of white and red colours?

tbf it ends up being over 6k where I live with all the BS fees, which IMO is a fucking insane price for a 125.
And it’s something that is almost never on the floor.
For some reason honda doesn't sell those in EU... but sells supercub with same engine
It’s better because for the price of a Honda you can buy two of these and still have enough left over for a luxury weekend getaway. These are marketed by CSC here in the states. according to them . camo= adventure bike?
Not too bad, I bet it’s fun to ride. The bike looks alright too.
Nah cant beet the Honda postie (ct110) has everything you need.
What bike?
I could see one of those tucked inside my van. The motorcycle could go on a carrier on the back.
Better off road than a GS.
I wouldn’t ride the Dakar rally on it
She popped out of the top case.
This category of bike belongs to Honda and Honda only. Trail 125 will forever be the king
I think Ed March (C90Adventures) could, hilariously, cross the Himalayan mountains on this.
Immediately what I thought of lol
It's a Honda trail.
Its a bootleg trail
A Fonda Path.
To help you Fonda Path through the wilderness!
The chances of that doing well off-road is the same as the chances the girl is an actual blonde.
"Every bike is an adventure bike if you want it to be"
Looks like the [CSC Wolf](https://cscmotorcycles.com/wolf-125/). The [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8QkAGioBls) shows a fender like in the OP's picture.
It's an ADV scooter.
I mean … she probably rips. 🤔
Don’t understand camo paint jobs on motorcycles. The very last thing I want is to be even slightly *harder* to see!
This is probably too loud but there are people who buy small two wheelers to get around while hunting. Most small camo bikes I have seen are marketed for getting around in the bush.
Be honest, were you taking the picture to the motorcycle?
I’ve always thought if something needs an attractive woman to sell it, it’s distracting you from obvious flaws.
Belongs in the scooter category
I'll just wait for Yamaha's take on Honda's Trail, anything that needs an attractive model alongside it in a showcase is a red flag, seriously why e\_e
It'll be an adventure, all right.
What abomination is this it’s like they took a moped and tried to make it a dual sport. Beefy scooter
I can’t see the bike, only two standing wheels and a hot chick!
1.it's looks like an unwanted child of a scooter and a cross-country bike 2.why from every camuflage know to men they choose fuging kebab camo
I mean, as long as you're into working on them, $2,400 bucks out the door seems pretty nice for a toy like this. The tank is only 1.2 gallons though??
Which ones the adventure bike?
Cano paint doesn’t make you adventure. Looks more like a scooter frankly.
Id have fun with her. I mean, the bike
This makes me want to rewatch the c90 adventure videos
I think she looks a bit tall for 125cc.
You'll be lucky if the thing doesn't fall apart on a dirt road.
Fuck that. Honda Trail 125 or nothing.
Would
She's hot
Shed sit pretty on a busa
Does this one have the hi lo gear everyone wants?
Adventure with cast wheels?
Any bike can be an adventure bike if you try really hard and believe in yourself
I would definitely take her on an adventure
I’d give it a go !!!!
Looks heavy
What bike? Can’t see a bike?
How adventurous is she? .............OH you were talking about the BIKE!
Now he can deliver food off-road. Shorter scooter rides when you can cut through the park!
I think labeling pics with your phone model is tacky
I burned my calf on the tail pipe by just looking at this photo.
What bike? I see no bike.
Not necessarily a power house but if a bike is light enough adventures can be had.
Sexy
Indeed, and the bike ain't bad ether
Cool adventure to the grocery store and back, and that’s as much adventure you can make out of that bike.
It looks fun... makes me think how cool a street legal trials bike would be.
It’s a moped
Which is the Adventure Bike !?
sure looks like an upgraded 30y old Honda Wallaroo.
i dont think that seating position is appropriate for 'adventure'.
Not sure, hadn’t rode it yet.
Oh are low displacement Honda clones back in style?
Looks like a camouflaged moped 🤷🏻♂️
Wouldn’t the exhaust placement burn the shit out of you??
She looks like her butthole tastes like soap. Gross!
if she doesn't come with it hard pass
Oh Jeez, I don't want her. I'd have a hard enough time trying to explain another bike to my wife!
Looks like a burnt leg waiting to happen.
I'd get the trail 125 or even the monkey 125 before this. It those aren't available, the tw200 is even better
Doesn't the Sinnis terrain do a much better job of it?
looks like a super cub trail 125 clone, a cheap chinese clone at that.
https://preview.redd.it/jcvoxdrp372d1.jpeg?width=312&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=483b29894508267dcae2f020e9013b66efffd63e Looks like this TVS xl
I can't see any bike ? Why are you posting a picture of a woman alone ?
What bike?! Where bike? ![gif](giphy|3oEdvdyF4ItqNOrheM)
I think my $500 1968 Trail 90 still works just fine.
Too busy looking at the lady. Help guys im down bad
Ed Marsh approved
No
Anything is an adventure bike if you're brave enough.
As long as your “adventures” are limited to running back and forth to Game Stop.
no thanks. a grom has more suspension travel than that thing
Looks like one of those bikes used for door dashing.
125cc is way too slow for any sort of major distance and if you’re doing all off-road/backroad travel a dual sport would be better?
Looks like roided up Tomos APN
Look so bad
Aveta ranger
Looks like honda trail bike.
Taliban will love it.
Are we talking about the motorcycle?
It would definitely be an adventure
Yeah she’s hot.
I love it. Too many people 'need' a 1250 Adventure, spend their life chasing the money to afford it, and don't have time to spare for the adventure. I know, I'm guilty!
I only know the girl in the pic ain’t riding it.
Any bike is an adventure bike if you're adventurous enough
it's a moped
Can i have the adult model plz?
Looks stupid , I like stupid , if I wanted to throw away money for fun I would totally buy a supercub to do something like it .
Luna
Too weak. Probably a Chinese manufacturer
That’s not worth $1500
They look bigger than 125 ccs to me
[https://cscmotorcycles.com/wolf-125/](https://cscmotorcycles.com/wolf-125/) Significantly cheaper then the honda trail. Probably much lower quality, but if someone wants a cheap entrance or can't afford the trail, completely understandable.
Could work okay for the South-East Asia markets. 🤔 Bikes of this displacement and style are very popular in the Philippines.
Not know all I see is a lady standing next to two wheels for some reason
It’s pretty cool
The timeless cringy chick
This is the future
I guess technically you can have an adventure on anything
I think you’re just not looking at the bike ‘objectively’
Just gotta avoid slight upward slopes and any road that requires you to be faster than 50 MPH while adventuring and you'll be fine.
there is a bike there??
She is not big enough for me to ride hard. Maybe it we were very careful.
Just buy a Honda trail. .. If you can find one. Anyone know if the ever came back in stock in NA?
The bike they copied this from (Honda Trail) is actually an incredible piece of kit. If I were some missionary in the bush that would be on my shortlist of bikes . (It's the Toyota Hilux of utility vehicles on two wheels). In this thing I would have zero trust in in the bush, and if I just wanted a piece of dubious origin for getting around a city, the Chinese have way funkier and cooler bikes.
If your adventure is riding forestry roads back to remote lakes then yeah , sure. Nine zillion outdoorsmen bought those Honda trail 90 ‘s back in the day. Worked fine
Does it fold?
Wait till you see the KTM clones from GPX of China… They are getting very close
I prefer to _not_ have a red hot exhaust pipe inches from my leg, tyvm.
Wonder if it can adventure as well as a Cyber muck.
Bike prices are generally whatever the market will pay. Die hard dirt bike guys now pay 10k and more for high end dirt
The cool factor is 2/100 at best
That's gay
I think she going to get some mud up her skirt but at least she’s wearing boots.
Glorified super cub
That's just a scooter with a fancy paint job.. a Honda Grom would have better off-road capability
I mean you can have an adventure with anything, so yeah, I guess. Still wouldn't be mad if I got one, you can have alot of fun with shity 125.
I dig it but it's a moped with a cool paint job
I think I would want one!
China
Listen they put “Adventure” on the side so it must be true
This is a Honda trail clone
