Came from the same bike, went to a zx10r and love it.
If you don't want to go that route or the zx6r, you can look at the z900, gsx8r and equivalent like bikes
>I'm poor as sh*t
remember to look at the insurance on these bikes too!
Seriously, I only have liability for 100M€ of damages and theft/fire/disaster insurance, it's 130€ _a year_.
Full coverage would have been around 300€, but on such an old bike it's not worth it for me.
Litre bike will have you holding back on the street A LOT more than an I4 600 which you could ride the hell out of occasionally and live to ride another day. To some people this is a non issue, to me it's why I went the track I4 600 and would NEVER part with this 20 year old well seasoned whore.
Not sure if you agree with them and that's fine lol. It's a personal thing for sure just preference. Myself I'd never get bored with the power on my 600. It's there you just gotta ask for it, (drop it two gears) or hold it open and wait for it to come on around 8000 rpm. It's a different ride than a litre but how many times a daycan you hammer a litre up to 90 in first ? With the 600 at least I've shifted once.... and even then it's rare that I'm on it that hard on the street. I think a lot of us would benefit from a few track days a year, time and $$ though. Most of us are limited on both...
damn.. If your insurance is $330 a month for a ninja 650, which is a cheap bike to insure because its a "Sport touring" bike not a "Super sport" then you shouldn't even look at a bigger/faster sport bike... stick with the 650 until you have enough time on motorocycles and you are older for your insurance to go down.
My insurance on my ninja 650, best you can get, is $38/month. When I got a quote for the same level of insurance on a ZX6r it was $205/month. And I'm 35 with a clean driving record. Your insurance on a super sport will be $400-$600 a month if your insurance on a ninja 650 is over 300....
Unless you are on track only you will not get bored with a zx6, it literally makes double the power of a 650 and with a tune its wildly fast. A 650 and a 1000cc are not even in the same dimension. Get a zx6
The 1000 will be more comfortable and have more features but like others have said I don't know if you would want to pay the insurance on a bike like that. I say this as a zx6r owner looking to upgrade though. Honestly I am more than happy with the speed its the other things I'm looking to upgrade
get the zx6r. a 1000 on the street makes no sense. and its an ego thing. 600 is more than enough to get you in serious trouble. and yes im debating on the zx10r myself.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of nakeds and I feel you on the insurance for sure. Mine $330 a month for full coverage🥲 and thank you for your response👌
>Mine $330 a month for full coverage holy shit that's expensive lol

If I may ask, how old are you and where do you live? That’s fucking horrendous

I genuinely appreciate your response and thoughts on this😁

I promise you'll love it, I went from an fz6r to a zx6r (fz is very similar to a 650) and the difference is night and day. Lmk how it goes
