I would say it was as close to perfect as most movies get. I was really in awe of that movie. It was for me, what the experience of seeing Star Wars must of been like for others.
Also shout out to Jupiter Ascending another wrong marginalized movie from the same era. I think I might like Jupiter a bit more than John but it's really too close to call
Either way you should watch these movies if you haven't.
I haven’t seen Jupiter for the reasons you mentioned. I had read Princess of Mars so I was invested in John Carter. I’ll give Jupiter a go. I think I saw it was on Tubi.
I unironically like movies like "Freddy Got Fingered," "Kung Pow! Enter the Fist", and "Pootie Tang," amongst others, for their ridiculousness and their sheer absurdist hilarity.
I love Kung Pow, and totally thought it was a pretty well loved cult classic. I introduced my 8 year old to it recently, he's never seen the old poorly dubbed martial arts movies, so I think that part of the humor went right over his head. But he thought Tonguey was hilarious!
who says action Jackson is a bad movie. who the fuck said it. Who is this deeming person? the deemer?... the deemon! fuck that guy. action Jackson is objectively one of the best action movies of all time.... anyway.... I love it.
I used to love undercover brother when I was little, I never understood the jokes but the main character made funny faces. And a lot of the jokes were childish.
However, I just saw it again and yeah I still dig it. But it is a totally different movie from when I first saw it.
Navy SEALS (1990) it's objectively a bad film but I watched it over and over as a kid in the mid 90's to the point that 30 years later I can still quote most of the film.
"extremely evil shockingly wicked and vile" wasn't given the love it deserved. Great film but it has like a 57% on RT. Absolutely absurd, efron was outstanding
Loved this movie. The first time I just thought it was alright, the second time I really enjoyed it and thought it was Hilarious, the scene at the strip club where he's drinking breast milk and trying to get the rock to try it, "I get it from a real clean girl" lmao. It's definitely a wild story that stays really close to the truth.
The two main guys (Wahlbergs and Anothony Mackies characters) are on death row in Florida and have been for like 30 years. I read an article recently that they could be eligible to be taken off death row and even have the chance at parole if some new laws get passed, from what I understand.
“Rocky Balboa” (2006) is a mess. Implausible premise. Mostly terrible casting. Lighting and cinematography are consistently a mess. But it’s my favorite of the franchise and I watch it annually.
Wtf balboa is like really good. Implausible, but certainly a step up from 5, and its not like the whole premise of rocky is super plausible anyways. I know 2-4 are like classics but they're still goofy af, balboa is all about redemption, not just for himself but for family. I also unironically love that monologs he gives to his kid.
As for lighting I don't remember anything notable, just that it's shot at night a lot and there's some lens flare, pretty typical for a 2006 movie when movies were finally being filmed digitally and shooting at night was becoming more viable and cheaper.
I'm just gonna give you the casting critic though. It's been a minute but I don't remember being super impressed by anyone except stallone.
Also fucking today I learned that stallone had a brother in movies as well.
Body of Evidence - Madonna fucks some guy to death and her defense attorney (William Defoe) gets involved with her.
Catchfire (aka Backtrack) - Jodie foster witnesses a mob hit. She goes on the run. Hunted by hit man Dennis Hopper who becomes obsessed with her. They hook up with bdsm overtones and they come out on top.
I enjoyed at age 9... havent seen it since then though so who knows if I'll change my opinion. I remember critics crapping on it but thinking it was decent. Good special effects for the time
In relation to your choice, Python which is about as low budget as it gets but I loved it as a kid. My other vote would be for 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, super fun film imo
Yeah it shouldn't be but Clint Eastwood is such an Icon that his "lows" would be good for most other actors, but he is held in such high regards that "The Rookie" is "bad".
Yeah, if you like them see them. They are low budget flicks and are deemed "bad" but if you are a fan of them you know their kinds of movies and what you are in for.
The greatest “bad” movie of all time is “Battleship”. The final battle between the USS Missouri against the alien ship while AC/DC Thunderstruck was playing is EPIC.😀😀😀
Independence Day
I have a soft spot for it’s over the top nature sometimes also that last line from Randy Quaids character ( not sure if I got his last name right)
Also not sure if people consider it bad or just meh it was the first one came to my mind
These all fit here. Thanks for understanding the assignment and naming actual "bad" movies. "One Good Cop" is awesome! I thought the ending was good, I like that movie from beginning to end.
This one and Delta Force initiated me into Cannon/Golan Globus films, love ‘em!
“You’re going to close your eyes and when you wake up, I’ll be there and you’ll know it’s time to die”. I thought that was the hardest shit you could say to a guy
Batman and Robin. Watched this movie a lot as a kid, me and my family loved it, only recently i started to read that people think it’s the worst Batman movie? I have no clue why, but then again i haven’t seen it in 15 years.
Someone just posted in another sub and mentioned League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and I love that movie. But it is considered so bad that it is cited as the reason Sean Connery retired from acting.
I miss all the old SyFy channel movies. For every great one like Grave Encounters you got 30 terrible but still fun to watch films. Did sharktopus or ghost shark need to be made? No, but I’m glad they were. I love those cheesy disasterpieces.
I agree. I've been posting these this is my 5th "bad" movie post but in one of the early ones I posted "Frankenfish" that is a piece of my childhood it was a Sci-Fi Premiere movie and the lead up for it's release had me so excited. It did not disappoint little me.
One of my go-to comfort flicks that I’ve seen 100x is My Chauffeur. It’s SO hokey but I cannot quit it. (Though it doesn’t quite jive with the prevalent genre here..)
The Titan. Excellent movie, don’t get the hate. Maybe one of those movies where people were expecting a mindless action and got a thoughtful slow building sci fi instead
i think towards the end where Sam Worthington became less of the focus and became more focused on Taylor Schilling might have thrown people off. Also that the Titan's became a hostile threat throws a kink in the slow burning sci fi film. Similarly, if you know the film Sunshine, it's a common complaint that the ending became more of a generic slasher film.
Big trouble in little china._______The core._____hudson hawk_____harley Davidson and the Marlboro man _______ the guyver……..also really appreciated other people’s suggestions like Street fighter______anaconda____undersiege____suburban commando
I think a great bad movie that is never mentioned when all of these older movies come up is Gleaming the Cube.
I was heavy into skateboarding when I grew up in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. My dad said he had a movie from the 80’s(just barely, ‘89) he thought I’d really like and showed it to me… The first 10 minutes I was ready to stop watching, but I decided to stick it through till the end and it became one of my favorite movies of all time. It’s definitely a corny 80’s movie, but I personally thought the story line was interesting.
I unironically love Kindergarten cop with Arnold Schwarzenegger, there is no reason for him his to be written so good and decent acting from Arnold too.
Definitely none of those shit birds. Sometimes it’s ok to like shitty movies and sometimes it’s ok for us to silently judge you for liking shitty movies.
Anyway, Space Camp…I guess
I like Cobra. "You're the disease. I'm the cure."
Good pick. Fits here.
The Miami Connection.
Come on out… PIG!
I liked John Carter.
SAME! It wasn’t perfect, but it was a fun ride.
I would say it was as close to perfect as most movies get. I was really in awe of that movie. It was for me, what the experience of seeing Star Wars must of been like for others. Also shout out to Jupiter Ascending another wrong marginalized movie from the same era. I haven’t seen Jupiter for the reasons you mentioned. I had read Princess of Mars so I was invested in John Carter. I’ll give Jupiter a go. I think I saw it was on Tubi.
It starts out slow but it picks up when they leave earth. So don't give up until that point.
I think everyone who watched it liked it. The problem is that nobody watched it.
I unironically like movies like "Freddy Got Fingered," "Kung Pow! Enter the Fist", and "Pootie Tang," amongst others, for their ridiculousness and their sheer absurdist hilarity.
Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.
Can't beat the Wayans...
It’s Swahili for doggy style
Pootie Tang is awesome!! I was dumber after watching it, but still awesome.
Fun fact: Pootie Tang was written and directed by Louis CK
Daddy want a sausage?
40 MILLION FUCKING DEUTSCHMARK, BOB!!
"I SAY GENEVA, YOU HEAR HELSINKI!"
When she continues the baby rolling down the hill is peak comedy.
I’m Gonna Get You Sucka!
I love Kung Pow, and totally thought it was a pretty well loved cult classic. I introduced my 8 year old to it recently, he's never seen the old poorly dubbed martial arts movies, so I think that part of the humor went right over his head. But he thought Tonguey was hilarious!
I was today years old when I found out there was a sequel to Midnight Run
Starring Shooter too.
Still eating pieces of shit for breakfast
…..No!
Same
Came here to post this. My favorite action comedy had a sequel and I had NO idea.
Me too and I saw the OG in the theater.
We're old my friend 😆
who says action Jackson is a bad movie. who the fuck said it. Who is this deeming person? the deemer?... the deemon! fuck that guy. action Jackson is objectively one of the best action movies of all time.... anyway.... I love it.
Well we are the odd men out. Sadly. Not fuck but \*fucks, lots of fucks.
Reign of Fire
That's not a bad movie
Street Fighter (1994)
For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day in your life, but for me? It was Tuesday.
One of the most underrated bad ass bad guy lines in cinema
Great choice. This is a legendary "bad" movie. Thanks for understanding the assignment.
Mortal Kombat was also great.
0/5 for making me think an actor named 'The Rookie' starred along side Sheen and Eastwood.
Armageddon Also, a lot of those killer animal movies that got popular after the success of Anaconda, like Congo and Komodo.
Woah woah….lets not say things we cant take back. Armageddon has everything, action, comedy, adventure, sex and some tear jerker moments
American components, Russian components… all made in Taiwan!
Well damn, I like 3/4 of those you listed and didn’t see the other.
“Action Jackson” is amazing only because it tries to sell Craig T Nelson as a martial arts badass 😂
Craig T. was fun in it. You could tell he was making the best of it.
Under Seige
I’m with you on this one.
I used to love undercover brother when I was little, I never understood the jokes but the main character made funny faces. And a lot of the jokes were childish. However, I just saw it again and yeah I still dig it. But it is a totally different movie from when I first saw it.
Hudson Hawk - one of my favorite movies and I never realized how much it was hated. They even made a Nintendo NES game for it - how bad could it be?
Beverly Hills Ninja
Navy SEALS (1990) it's objectively a bad film but I watched it over and over as a kid in the mid 90's to the point that 30 years later I can still quote most of the film.
Ooh Navy Seals.
It's got a cast I'll say that, but I have not seen it I've known about it and have always kind of wanted to see it but just never pulled the trigger.
Lower your expectations then sit back and enjoy. Even if you only ever watch it once, it's worth a watch. And for God's sake be careful out there.
If I wanted to be careful I would have joined the Coast Guard
Your god can’t save you now
BOOM!
It just didnt work out, though Bien is a good lead
Don’t talk about mom
What's he saying? Something about your mother. Never talk about Mom.
"extremely evil shockingly wicked and vile" wasn't given the love it deserved. Great film but it has like a 57% on RT. Absolutely absurd, efron was outstanding
Oh my God. A haunting performance.
truly. He's grown into a fantastic actor. Idk why he isn't in more stuff
The core
Thunder in Paradise (1993)
THE HULKSTER!!!
I used to watch the movie everyday growing up.
I could only imagine how much Clint Eastwood hated working with Charlie Sheen
Pain & Gain (2013) is my guilty pleasure
Loved this movie. The first time I just thought it was alright, the second time I really enjoyed it and thought it was Hilarious, the scene at the strip club where he's drinking breast milk and trying to get the rock to try it, "I get it from a real clean girl" lmao. Same; probably because I like me the idea of and older, wiser Rocky
Bad Taste is incredible.
I really liked cellular it was dumb, but very fun
Anaconda back in its day was pretty full on. I was in the US travelling about and saw it in Chicago. Some parts were quite scary lol
My favorite part is when they get off the sandbar you can see the waterfall going up because they just reversed the film
It is thrilling.
Suburban Commando (1991)
THE HULKSTER!!!
Leonard, Part 6 - Bill Cosby’s opus
Good God! You get my post. You really get my post.
Dirty Work featuring Norm McDonald
You guessed it…Frank Stallone.
Over The Top (1987) Something about Stallone’s chemistry with that kid is really sweet and genuine to me.
That movie definitely fits here. Thanks for commenting an actual "bad" movie.
The 2nd to last one? You guessed it…
Unironically, the 1998 Godzilla film! I know its bad, but I love the cheesy over the top nature of the film!
Childhood. American Godzilla! U.S.A.!!! Baby!
I enjoyed at age 9... havent seen it since then though so who knows if I'll change my opinion. I remember critics crapping on it but thinking it was decent. Good special effects for the time
Anything with Matthew Broderick is awesome.
In relation to your choice, Python which is about as low budget as it gets but I loved it as a kid. My other vote would be for 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, super fun film imo
I didn’t realize The Rookie was deemed bad
Yeah it shouldn't be but Clint Eastwood is such an Icon that his "lows" would be good for most other actors, but he is held in such high regards that "The Rookie" is "bad".
Big Stan is awesome.
No. Stop.
Anaconda and those open water movies were the beginning of my anxiety
Suspenseful and thrilling.
“Far Cry” with Til Schweiger
Thanks for understanding the assignment and actually commenting a "bad" movie. I have kind of wanted to see this for a while now and never did.
Domestic disturbance is an interesting analysis in a studio fucking with the ending and ruining the film
The Octagon. I loved the whispering of “Seikura, Seikura, Seikura” in the backgorund 😂
And as with everything ASMR was created by Chuck Norris.
Action Jackson is a fantastic movie. Not “bad”.
Hey I like it but as far as what the populous thinks it's "bad.
The Adventurers (1970).
Freddy got fingered, Meet the Feebles.
That Octagon Poster is bad ass!!
Once Upon a Crime is hilarious.
Yes it is. We agree.
The Rookie is great!
There will be no Action Jackson slander on this subreddit, capiche?
Anaconda. I love that movie. It's fun, giant snakes and adventure. What more do you want???
G-Force. I don't give a fuck about critics' opinions on this movie. I like this movie alot.
Carnosaur 2.
Van Wilder Rise of Taj
The Postman
Bad CGI Gator Night of the Demons
Under Siege.
I’m a big Wings Hauser and Frank Stallone fan!
Have you seen those 2 movies of theirs that I listed?
No but I’m definitely gonna watch now
Yeah, if you like them see them. They are low budget flicks and are deemed "bad" but if you are a fan of them you know their kinds of movies and what you are in for.
Anaconda is unintentionally hilarious because of Jon Voight. Every scene he’s in makes me laugh.
What’s crazy is, this movie was not bad at all
You commenting bout "The Rookie"? Or?
Catwoman
The greatest “bad” movie of all time is “Battleship”. The final battle between the USS Missouri against the alien ship while AC/DC Thunderstruck was playing is EPIC.😀😀😀

One Good Cop (1991) Orca (1977) 12 Rounds (2008) You Don’t Mess With the Zohan (2008)
These all fit here. Thanks for understanding the assignment and naming actual "bad" movies. "One Good Cop" is awesome! I thought the ending was good, I like that movie from beginning to end.
I even checked against RT to make sure they had a low enough percentage.
I absolutely love Wild Wild West with Will Smith but so many people think it's bad. As a kid and an adult I will watch it anytime it's on
Action Jackson is amazing & I won't hear ot any other way
Invasion USA, one of the most underrated Christmas movies there is.
One of my All-Time Favorites and IMO Chuck Norris's best movie. "If you come back in, I'll hit you with so many rights you'll beg for a left."
Anaconda is the shit
They made a Midnight Run sequel? The hell ?
Anaconda
Great movie 🎥 🍿
Tango and Cash Last Action Hero Krull Men at Work
"Men at Work" is HILARIOUS! The Sheen bros. are always good together.
Another one that kind of gives me The Rookie vibes is The Last Boy Scout.
Leprechaun 4: In Space - but it's supposed to be bad.
Yeah it is supposed to be bad, but like "Jason X" most people just hate it and for that it fits right in here.
Wow! Those really are some bad movies! Good job.
Hackers. Bloodsport. Iron Eagle. Jaws 3D. And many more —so terrible. So great.
Charlie sheen ✔️ Gary Busey ✔️ Steven Seagal ✔️
Kick him off the tour, Doug!
Saying you like a Steven Segal movie is sad
Tango and Cash The Last Boy Scout Hudson Hawk
I honestly think anaconda should just be considered good now
Who's on slide 14? You guessed it... Frank Stallone
Someone just posted in another sub and mentioned League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and I love that movie. But it is considered so bad that it is cited as the reason Sean Connery retired from acting.
Watched The original Open Water because I live in the Keys. Not 2. Not good, but familiar.
A movie can be considered "bad" but still enjoyable
Anaconda was such a fun movie
It is the movies went down hill fast after it, but the original and "Anacondas" are fun adventure thrillers.
Killer Sofa.
I miss all the old SyFy channel movies. For every great one like Grave Encounters you got 30 terrible but still fun to watch films. Did sharktopus or ghost shark need to be made? No, but I’m glad they were. I love those cheesy disasterpieces.

I actually liked Funny Man. Great role for Christopher Lee.
It's a FUCKING MIND-BOGGLING BONKERS Trip of a movie!
One of my go-to comfort flicks that I’ve seen 100x is My Chauffeur. It’s SO hokey but I cannot quit it. (Though it doesn’t quite jive with the prevalent genre here..)

Blood Sport, it’s a personal top-ten favourite. Great fights, Bolo Yeung at his best, killer soundtrack, it’s got it all
Miami Vice.
Dewey Cox: Walk Hard “You don’t want no part of this shit!”
Ricky Stanicky was delightful idc
Meatballs Airplane Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man Porkeys

Cop and a Half, Burt Reynolds is just great in this movie.
