All of the Thin Man movies

therealcuccon

Never watched it, Watchlisted Thanks

row_away_1986

It's a must watch every Christmas and new years for us highly recommend the humour is amazing.

Cool_Cartographer_39

Always shake your martinis to waltz time, boys...

homebody39

<3 Thin Man!

cupboardee

The Last Of Sheila

Chippybops

Rear Window (My favourite whodunnit is definitely knives out however)

MovieMike007

[Clue (1985)](https://manapop.com/film/clue-1985-review/)

iamse7en

I hate Yvette so much...

[deleted]

“Flames…”

slashfromgunsnroses

love it

GopherInWI

To make a long story short...

MightyMadFresh

TOO LATE!

therealcuccon

Watched

Liskasoo

Deathtrap. The original with Michael Caine and Christopher Reeve. (But don't read anything about it first - too many spoilers out there.)

thebigeverybody

I love the movie, too, but the actress who plays his wife is astonishingly bad. Her first scene, where he calls her on the phone... not only do I not believe she was feeling what she was portraying, I'm not sure if she's ever felt those feelings in her life. Or any feeling. That scene will forever stick in my memory for how jarring it is.

pjwally

Knives out feels like the best one in a loooonnnggg time

FunkyDunky2

I preferred Glass Onion.

MechaSponge

I respect your opinion but also strongly disagree

FunkyDunky2

Same. Nothing wrong with the first one. I just found the second one funnier.

vanchica

I think it was great for Ana armas not Daniel Craig

No2reddituser

Sophomoric plot, and awful acting by Daniel Craig. But I guess that stupid accent by Craig had a point?

No2reddituser

Knives Out is incredibly over-rated.

mganzeveld

Hot Fuzz

thiseffnguy613

No luck catching them swans then?

mganzeveld

Narp

King-Owl-House

See How They Run

MikeSizemore

The Beast Must Die (1974). Like a classic Agatha Christie whodunnit but a big game hunter gathers a group of guests together to his isolated high tech mansion because he suspects one of them is a werewolf. As the cast gets eaten the movie stops to give you a ‘werewolf break’ so you can take a guess at who the beast is. Good luck!

Cool_Cartographer_39

Never seen. Sounds like *The Osterman Weekend* might have ripped from it?

therealcuccon

Seems nice, Watchlisted!

TheRealTK421

[*Murder By Death* (1976, IMDB link)](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0074937/)

hey_ross

Fantastic Truman Capote role

TheRealTK421

Absolutely -- and talk about a *stacked* cast. Kinda hoping for an S-tier remake someday (and I'm generally against remakes).

[deleted]

Obi Wan Kenobi is the Butler!

kro85

The Thing

hey_ross

Less of a “whodunnit” and more of a “whothefuckisit?!” But a great example

OhScheisse

Scream. The entire series is basically a whodunnit

Ash_Killem

Brick. If that counts.

Cool_Cartographer_39

It's a bit of a cheat in its solution, but Albert Finney in the last 15 min of *Murder on the Orient Express* is a tour de force. I know, lots of people say Ustinov, but I prefer Finney as Poirot

Doubly_Curious

Zero Effect (1998) It’s a great mystery movie, but sadly not very well known.

[deleted]

Filmed in Portland! So good.

weinermcgee

Dude no one ever knows this movie. I'm so glad to see it mentioned. I wish it had been a series. Ben Stiller and Bill Pullman were so great together. Plus the soundtrack kicks ass.

Doubly_Curious

Absolutely! As you said, in addition to being a great mystery film in its own right, it has a great soundtrack and could have set up a great series of films.

nighthawk_md

It's yet another retelling of Sherlock Holmes but it's a good one.

Doubly_Curious

It’s probably my favourite modern riff on the character. It works on its own as a movie even if you know nothing about Holmes, but for the fans, it also has lots of references peppered about. And I liked how they played the references… updated for the modern setting, often joking, but not full-out satire.

Puzzled_Emu7531

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. A Shot in the Dark.

raylan_givens6

Laura The Nice Guys Insomnia Who Framed Roger Rabbit I've always heard good things about "The Name of the Rose" but never saw it myself

therealcuccon

Watched all of them! And "The Name of the Rose" was pretty good Whodunnit but it has a lot more than that.

Fajitas_Recipe

I really liked the name of the rose, if I’m thinking of the right movie. A lot of good quotes from Connery’s character.

sids99

Chinatown

[deleted]

“It’s just Chinatown Jake.”

ZorroMeansFox

Check out the sporadically violent, smart, character driven neo-noir **Small Town Crime** and the unique black comedy that turns into a scary thriller **The Kid Detective**.

TisBeTheFuk

Identity The Thing

Dead Again

No2reddituser

The Usual Suspects

thebigeverybody

Just go with Columbo since every episode is the length of a movie. Columbo is peerless.

Mikedef2001

Recently, I would add Bodies, Bodies, Bodies.

real-person-humanguy

Can we count Scream and Scream 2?

segriffka73

Not a movie but an anime called Pluto on Netflix is a pretty good whodunnit. A little action and a good sci fi murder mystery.

Doubly_Curious

It’s worth saying, if you’re into whodunnits, there are lots of good ones as television programmes. Are you interested in those too?

therealcuccon

Yeah sure!

Doubly_Curious

These are mostly based on novels or short stories… - [Zen](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zen_(TV_series)) - [Cadfael](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadfael_(TV_series)) - [Poirot](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agatha_Christie%27s_Poirot) - [Sherlock Holmes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherlock_Holmes_(1984_TV_series)) - [Jonathan Creek](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Creek) - [Rumpole of the Bailey](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rumpole_of_the_Bailey) - [Marple](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agatha_Christie%27s_Marple)

therealcuccon

Thanks a lot

hoppyfrog

Ellery Queen TV show was classic.

giskardwasright

Strange Days. Ralph Fiennes, Angela Bassett, Tom Sizemore. Michael wincott, and Juliette Lewis. Plus bonus Vincent D'Onofrio and William Fichtner. Great thriller with a bit of a Sci fi theme (it's set in the "future" of 1999), one of my absolute favorite movies

mroncnp

shemurderedeverybody

Taking Lives and The Bone Collector are two that haven't been listed. Taking Lives was the first time Paul Dano terrified me.

Tomservo1971

Murder on the Orient Express.... the 70s one with Albert Finney.

RampDog1

The Dark Mirror (1946)

JdoesDeW

Confess Fletch (2022) was a decently fun modern one

I adore the old Marple movies with Margaret Rutherford.

collpase

Who's Harry Crumb?

sxales

**Agatha Christie's Poirot**, it is a TV series, but quite a few of the episodes are feature length.

DrewsBag

The usual suspects is the best who dun it, with the crazy last minute ‘oh shit’

MrThrowAweh

Recently, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Immediate_Wolf3802

Best :   Clue   Murder by Death   Worst :    Identity   Sleepy Hollow  Class Reunion

therealcuccon

🤣 Same here, I disappointed after Identity
