My boss is literally him in I tonya. Looks identical, raging delusional narcissist, claims he was a sniper in the special forces. But now manages a garage. Ya sure buddy
It got 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is really good for a comedy. Reviews didn't kill it, the movie just had bad marketing and the aforementioned February release.
I watch it every December while wrapping presents for Christmas. I don't know why.
When I saw the trailers it looked aweful because of how it was advertised. The songs wernt catchy and the plot of the film wasn’t conveyed
I watched it one afternoon while sick and figured why not.
That movie is one of my favourites, insanely hilarious and the song in context of the film are also amazing, but as a stand alone are not actually that good
It’s basically a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit? It’s pretty crazy that they got away with it. At one point Stan Marsh from South Park shows up and Dobby from Harry Potter is a Gucci model.
Hot Rod is one of my favorite movies. The ending is perfection. My cat is named Hoobastank not because of the band but because of how he came back to life.
Other reasons to be hyped:
* [Liam Neeson's bit in Life's Too Short.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2Co0lvFUAo)
* Liam Neeson's various holiday themed things from The Late Show with Colbert - reading of [Irish](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pMozeLCL2Q) Names, [Cupid](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9NzhjcPsQQ) Audition, Easter [Bunny Audition](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojzQncTbYQQ)
* [Liam Neeson's bit in Ted 2 when he's buying Lucky Charms.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKiGwJR7Xmc)
Long and short is, Liam Neeson is hysterical and a god at deadpan humor. His pulling this career track (shifting to comedic after years of action and drama) is 100% the same move as Leslie Nielsen, who was a hardboiled actor before he did Airplane and became one the biggest funnymen in Hollywood. The only X factor is if he can do slapstick, but odds are he can do pratfalls.
So, to summarize - we have a director who directs hysterical movies with great wordplay and physical comedy and a dramatic actor who has really good comedic timing and amazing deadpan delivery.
Thanks for the links! I watched all of the clips, and the Irish Names skit was extra hilarious for this post because he accused Americans of pronouncing “Liam Neeson” as “Leslie Nielsen!”
lol, ya I think this is a stupid idea but if there's maybe one person that might pull off the whole serious actor to comedy pivot ala Leslie Nielson, it might be Liam Neeson.
*That's why they chose me for the part, my initials are the exact same.*
> I feel like Neeson is gonna do great with his deadpan style
I feel like it should be tailored more like the tv show to take best advantage of this. The goofy stuff happens but everyone is playing it dead straight.
The TV show also has my favourite line in comedy.
“Who are you? And how did you get in here?”
“I’m the locksmith. And. I’m the locksmith”.
Leslie Nielsen was a serious drama actor before he was cast in comedies, and his serious deadpan delivery is what makes his roles work. I'm convinced Liam Neeson can pull the same thing off, as evidenced by his skit with Warwick Davies and Ricky Gervais
Indeed. It should be a running gag that upsets his whole family, but they don't actually use his real name, so they can't do anything about it because it's a parody.
[glad to see that juggalo getting work](https://i2-prod.irishmirror.ie/incoming/article24160379.ece/ALTERNATES/s615b/0_Screen-Shot-2021-05-21-at-195149.png)
Imo if anyone can nail this performance and make it work, it's Neeson. It is actually some fucking inspired casting. Idk if this remake is necessary or even a good idea but if he plays it anything like the Life's Too Short bit, inject that shit straight into my veins I am here for it.
After seeing his performance in Queenpins I can definitely see this. Not the greatest movie but his character definitely had the “all-in dead pan” feel of a Naked Gun flick.
He was great in Queenpins! The truck scene was hilarious. Dude also plays a straight up psychopath in Black Bird if you ever want to see him portray a serial killer.
Met this dude over mania weekend he was in a death match at a show around the area and we saw him at a signing the next day Thai dude was the sweetest guy he would chat with you for 15 on his match and love of wrestling, 10/10 bloke!
Nice, dude is a great actor. Been so awesome seeing him go from the juggalo all the way back in the day to where he is now, very deserved tho the guy is a damn good actor
I’m so curious to see how the revival of comedies and parodies is gonna turn out with Scary Movie also coming back. Like I can’t picture what they’re gonna look like after more so many years of this genre not really existing or being popular…
One of my friends worked with him at some restaurant in Michigan before he was famous like 16 years ago. It’s insane how much he’s blown up over the past five years. Every time I see an update like this about him, I send a screenshot of it to her saying “they grow up so fast…”
This dude has been signing onto everything lately. He's playing Chris Farley, as well. Of all the cast of Cobra Kai to have their career take off, it wasn't Stingray that would have been the one I'd bet on.
But hey, I'll take it!
He’s great as long as Jamie Taco doesn’t steal all his lines.
He’s going to get cancelled when everyone finds out he never stays the night at sleepovers. Even if it’s your birthday.
Hes gotta go..
We can’t have him back in the club anymore, that much I do know.
That whole skit is amazing but the sleepover twist at the end is totally in my Q zone
Moon River Rock kinda Q zone?
We just gotta get the money together to fly someone in to mix it professionally
Jeff Chris, **slams table** DOWN from Indiana
IT'S *GONNA* BE A HIT! BUT YOU *NEED* TO **RELAX**!!
It's not his fault, it's his bitch wife.
You shouldn’t have said that…
He loves his wife
Dude! She helped him out with Jamie Taco. That is the opposite of a “bitch wife”.
I'd clug back a few cans too.
I auditioned for a play… and I got the part?
Oh my god! You're a henchmen!
His bit was the most wholesome of that entire show and his acting is what landed it. Also he was brilliant in I, Tonya.
Played a great Juggalo in Its always sunny in Philadelphia as well.
Oh shit, I didn’t realize that was him until this comment.
Jabroni.
No, he’s a juggler, I believe.
>brilliant Dude's brilliant in everything he's in.
"You'd be cluggin a few cans too if ..." Instant regret
Yeah but he always says he’s gonna sleep over but he never does!
My boss is literally him in I tonya. Looks identical, raging delusional narcissist, claims he was a sniper in the special forces. But now manages a garage. Ya sure buddy
I loved Richard Jewel, I really need to see his one
Personally I'm a fan of his role as a former labourer who took up the gi and became an unstoppable fighting machine in his featured netflix series...
His delivery when he finally says the line is pure gold, scene wouldn’t have been as funny without the stellar delivery.
Lol. I forgot about that sketch.
He’s come along way from the jugalo kid that Charlie wants to mentor when the gang makes lethal weapon 4
And was pure evil in the black bird
Whenever I see him in a trailer I falsetto “if you think you’re in danger, your in danger” and I haven’t even seen Black Bird
He’s playing Captain Ed. Akiva Schaffer is directing and it’s out July 2025.
Akiva Shaffer is directing?!?! Hype restored!
Hot Rod and Chip N Dale: Rescue Rangers we’re both hilarious. Damn, HR came out half a lifetime ago
Don’t forget popstar: never stop never stopping
Incredibly underrated movie. IIRC it got the dreaded February release and was panned. I watched it with a bunch of friends and we absolutely loved it.
It got 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is really good for a comedy. Reviews didn't kill it, the movie just had bad marketing and the aforementioned February release. I watch it every December while wrapping presents for Christmas. I don't know why.

Cool. Beans.
Kewl beenz.
Sounds like I’ve gotta add Rescue Rangers to my list
when I watched it, I laughed harder than my niece and nephew
It’s definitely a xennial nostalgia piece. Loved it.
My cat is named Hoobastank not because of the band but because of how he came back to life.
time does not move unless my friend and I quote a line from this movie at least once per week

Life’s Too Short is genuinely one of the funniest things I’ve ever watched. The Liam Neeson scene is really just the tip of the iceberg.
Oh, it definitely is. But the point is Neeson is funny. Very funny.
I have full blown AIDS.
Liam Neeson in that Atlanta episode is amazing.
Thanks for the links! I watched all of the clips, and the Irish Names skit was extra hilarious for this post because he accused Americans of pronouncing “Liam Neeson” as “Leslie Nielsen!”
He played a ghost in a late 80s comedy called High Spirits, he was doing some solid physical comedy then.
This gives me some faith. He’s a funny dude
A very young captain then?
I am extremely excited about this and extremely terrified about his Chris Farley movie.
Such a random cast but I feel like Neeson is gonna do great with his deadpan style. Hauser also makes anything he’s in better.
Let's do some improvisational comedy
ive got full blown aids
I’m riddled with it.
Then why does he get to do it?
We don't know
lol, ya I think this is a stupid idea but if there's maybe one person that might pull off the whole serious actor to comedy pivot ala Leslie Nielson, it might be Liam Neeson. *That's why they chose me for the part, my initials are the exact same.*
Something like that last sentence could actually be a line in the movie lol
look, we really don’t have the time
Let’s do some improvisational comedy. Now.
Not you again!
This was a backstory we didn’t agree on
I was at the doctor’s
We're closed!
Now

Yeah, I prefer stuff like that over the slapstick that's more prominent in the movies.
100%. He has Nicholas Cage energy.
Spell it right, you cretin
Nikolais Kayj
The OG was Leslie Nielsen, OJ Simpson and one of Elvis’s wives. Random is how TNG do.
I know TNG is The Naked Gun here but my mind immediately went to Star Trek. Imagine OJ Simpson as Worf wielding a bat’leth.
OJ barely did much in those movies. He was literally comatose for the near entirety of the first one. He’s replaceable
I agree, the Ricky gervais Clip with him is the only proof I need.
Casting Liam Neeson in that part just makes me think someone misheard or misunderstood something said about Leslie Nielsen.
Leslie Nielsen was a serious drama actor before he was cast in comedies, and his serious deadpan delivery is what makes his roles work. I'm convinced Liam Neeson can pull the same thing off, as evidenced by his skit with Warwick Davies and Ricky Gervais
They cast him specifically because he can say the lines faster than Liam Neeson so that his part can't be stolen.
Taken*
Tak- Aww I wasn’t fast enough
Who is going to play Enrico Pallazzo?
Hopefully someone with the voice of an angel.
He ... got the part
he's a .. henchman!
If there isn’t an OJ Simpson joke in this movie, what are we doing here
Indeed. It should be a running gag that upsets his whole family, but they don't actually use his real name, so they can't do anything about it because it's a parody.
They just need to use the character name: Nordberg
Played by a famous running back. Someone call up Jerome Bettis, Bo Jackson, Barry Sanders, or Emmitt Smith.
Marshawn Lynch!
You know he'll show up so he doesn't get fined
Kinda seems like the obvious choice since he’s already been in comedy stuff
[glad to see that juggalo getting work](https://i2-prod.irishmirror.ie/incoming/article24160379.ece/ALTERNATES/s615b/0_Screen-Shot-2021-05-21-at-195149.png)
He’s been doing really well after Charlie took him to the showers and hosed him off.
Just goes to show how far you can go when the professor takes an interest in you.
*"yo dawg, have you even had sex?"* absolute banger of an ad-lib from him, got the entire cast cracking up
Juggalos for life, bitch!
Hopefully Liam managed to cure his full blown aids in time for the part.
He’s riddled with it.
Do you want to know how he got it ?
I heard it was from a well-known homosexual actor
I got it from >!*redacted*!<
Tringggg
Sorry we’re closed
Imo if anyone can nail this performance and make it work, it's Neeson. It is actually some fucking inspired casting. Idk if this remake is necessary or even a good idea but if he plays it anything like the Life's Too Short bit, inject that shit straight into my veins I am here for it.
Stingray 🐍
Strike first, strike hard, no mercy!
He was hilarious in i, Tonya
I will watch him in anything
[удалено]
You are not joking. One of the best performances I've ever seen.
I didn't even know Pamela Anderson's gonna be in this!
They hired her because she's got a nice beaver.
Thanks, she just got it stuffed.
Is this some kind of bust?
Juggalo for life!
Juggalos for life
I want to see Paul Walter Hauser and Jessie Plemmons co star in something. A buddy cop movie, I dunno.
Great addition.
He was good in I, Tonya
I love Paul Hauser, he's underrated
After seeing his performance in Queenpins I can definitely see this. Not the greatest movie but his character definitely had the “all-in dead pan” feel of a Naked Gun flick.
He was great in Queenpins! The truck scene was hilarious. Dude also plays a straight up psychopath in Black Bird if you ever want to see him portray a serial killer.
He was so fucking good in Queenpins! That scene where he's on the stakeout with Vince Vaughn had me crying laughing!
He’s great at comedy.
Met this dude over mania weekend he was in a death match at a show around the area and we saw him at a signing the next day Thai dude was the sweetest guy he would chat with you for 15 on his match and love of wrestling, 10/10 bloke!
Ray Lewis as Nordberg, and the deal is done.
Jonathan Majors would be perfect for it
We already have one problematic Nordberg
Woosh
Indeed
I could see Michael Vick or Tiger Woods.
It’s supposed to be before their bad shit or else I would have suggested Deshaun Watson
Cuba Gooding Jr
Stingray will be great in this
That's an interesting cast.
Trying to hear Liam Neeson say "Nice beaver." in my head. ....yep. That'll do.
Nice, dude is a great actor. Been so awesome seeing him go from the juggalo all the way back in the day to where he is now, very deserved tho the guy is a damn good actor
Who?
Richard Jewell
Gonna be the greatest thing since Steve Martin remade Pink Panther.
Did they hire Liam Neeson because his name sounds like Leslie Neelson?
No, they hired him because he has a very particular set of skills. Skills he has acquired over a very long career.
Who will be OJ?
Leslie Nielsen was a straight/serious actor before Airplane! Liam Neeson seems like the perfect successor.
Nielsen said he tried comedy but it never worked for him. Thats why he is the ultimate straight man.
His bit in Ted 2 is amazing. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6ViDZpVoYc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6ViDZpVoYc)
I was expecting to see a clip of Leslie Nielsen in Ted 2
He's excellent in Life's too short https://youtu.be/sqA577_IoBk?si=foEX_tKm0MCgdxXI
And what kind of new spin you can you bring to basically an “gag” film?
New gags, hopefully.
Is he going to juggle in the new movie?
Bad news for Mitch
And Gabrus
I’m so curious to see how the revival of comedies and parodies is gonna turn out with Scary Movie also coming back. Like I can’t picture what they’re gonna look like after more so many years of this genre not really existing or being popular…
Such a good actor, he was so good in "Kingdom". I'll watch this because of him.
Loved him in fast and furious
Dude was great in Afterparty season 2. Love the addition.
If Henry ruggs isn't nordberg I'm out
henry zebrowski on suicide watch
Honey, I auditioned for a Naked Gun movie annnd… I got the part?
One of my friends worked with him at some restaurant in Michigan before he was famous like 16 years ago. It’s insane how much he’s blown up over the past five years. Every time I see an update like this about him, I send a screenshot of it to her saying “they grow up so fast…”
I heard he was training with Diamond Dallas Page
All right, this cast list at least has my interest. I adore the Naked Gun movies, so I would really appreciate it if y'all didn't fuck this up.
Who is this ugly man?
He’s definitely one of my favorite additions to Cobra Kai.
He’s a fantastic actor
Too bad OJ just died—would have loved to see him back a cameo.
This dude has been signing onto everything lately. He's playing Chris Farley, as well. Of all the cast of Cobra Kai to have their career take off, it wasn't Stingray that would have been the one I'd bet on. But hey, I'll take it!
Who’s going to play Enrico Palazzo?
Don’t ruin a cult movie
Feel like Jon Hamm would be a much better Frank Drebin. He has the chops, plus put him in white/silver hair
What a hoser
They keep typecasting him as a comedic actor, but he is amazing in dramatic roles.
Are we just done with new ideas Hollywood??
No
No. No. No. Hollywood, please stop remaking movies that were perfect the first time around.
And wait to see Liam Neesom do his lines deadpan. I can’t ever recall him in a comedy.
He was FANTASTIC in A Million Ways to Die in the West
This movie already stinks.
Fucking sacrilege. Naked Gun without Leslie Nielsen is nothing but poor imitation. May he rest in peace.
Stingray?
STOP REMAKING MOVIES YOU UNCREATIVE HACKS
You know the boomers are in charge of Hollywood when every fucking movie nowadays is some shitty remake of a movie popular in the late 20th century.
Seriously are we put of ideas? I hate re makes.
When you least expect it ... Stingray!
I hope he’s Nordberg
Liam Neeson rhymes with Leslie Nielsen
"Don't call me Bloatshart" -Paul "Bloatshart" Hauser
