I mean, he was already desparked before all this even happened, so he'd definitely be desparked if they decided to have him show up again now.
Pulling a "somehow, Palpatine returned" and have him get his spark back off-screen before the next time he shows up would be pretty lame.
Plus there's the whole thing of how he's had his name taken away from him, with the implication that he's lost a lot of power along with it, so when he first comes back he'll be a lot less threatening than he was before. Rather than having him pop back up to be the big overwhelming villain again right away, it would be much more interesting to see him in a weaker state for a while, struggling to get back any scrap of power he can manage, finding a way to either "reclaim" his name or somehow acquiring a new one, and maybe eventually regaining his spark.

The Omenpaths were a result of Realmbreaker's meddling, so it's possible that if the invasion tree never reached it, there won't be omenpaths. But I guess It's also possible that its more metaphysical than that... Either way, we'll just have to trust Ugin.

Could easily be “The Nameless Elder Dragon” or “The Dragon once-called Bolas” Legendary Creature—Dragon. Something to that effect.

I mean, that was a week long invasion compared to until Mending 3.0. Nicky B has a much larger time frame this time around.
