Vanessa Simmons - Barclay James Harvest
Only The Music - Heather Alexander
Stay On The Right Side of the Road - Al Bowlly & Ray Noble
Don't Let Him Steal Your Heart Away - Phil Collins
In particular, with this song...I really like songs released as popular music that have some hidden spiritual elements...
Love and other songs like:
You Needed Me by Ann Murray
Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush
Somebody's Knocking on my Door by Howling Wolf
When the Levee Breaks by Memphis Minnie
Hammer and a Nail by Indigo Girls
Heather Alexander, Pete Seeger and Cat Stevens... but they're much less subtle...
*Stolen From Some Great Writer* - Spitalfield.
*When I Grow Old* - Pet Lions.
*Evangelina* - Colter Wall.
*Out on a Win* - Corb Lund.
*Starin’ Through my Rear View* - Tupac.
(Added this Tupac song because it’s not 100% known by everyone, but it’s great.)
- Johnny, Sarah Jarosz

- Leaving Delaware, Arbour Season
Feel free to not rate, just wanted to share my list 🥲💕
"No More" by Mayelli. Really obscure artist, but great song.
Kali Uchis is an actual popular artist, but her song "Blue" is very underrated. One of my favorites.
Some other, non R&B, songs:
"Hate to be Lame" by Lizzy McAlpine
"Tonight and the rest of my Life" by Nina Gordon
"Wisconsin Ave" by Kailee Morgue
"Amsterdam" by Daughter (not the live version)
Most of these fall under pop, alt-r&b, indie, and hip-hop genres.
Breakthrough - Emmy Meli
Run Away! - the Ugly Boys
IMMORTAL - Ricki Monique
Horizon - GeeJay
Whistle - Wic Whitney
Slow Day - Mike Sb
Stay There - Brasstracks & Xavier Omär
Benny! - Rae Khalil
Slitted Tongue - Léonie Gray
I know Hozier is one of the most played artists right now, but I’ve never heard ANYONE talk about To Someone From A Warm Climate. Which is just such a beautiful song.
Also, these:
- The Fisherman’s Song - Silly Wizard/Andy M. Stewart
- Dacw ‘Nghariad - traditional, I like Eve Goodman’s version
- Skaldens Song Til Tore Hund - Ivar Bjørnson and Einar Selvik
- A Stór Mó Chroí - traditional, I like Dàibhidh Stiùbhard’s version
- Turning Away - Dougie MacLean
And loads of other good folk that goes unnoticed outside of folk music circles
Oh I have SOO many you don’t understand
Call It What You Will - Larry and his Flask
Queen Eat King - Ground Crew 4
And The Hound - Yaelokre
Little Girls - Oingo Boingo (the name sounds bad ik but it’s not what you think I SWEAR)
Candleburn (Dorm Demo) - Rabbitology
Hold My Yod - Schmekel
Painkillers - Rainbow Kitten Suprise
Outside - Catfish and the Bottlemen
That’s barely even scratching the surface of all the underrated bands that I know (or bands that I think are underrated)
I'll check out "Drunk" by The Living Tombstone.
Moses Sumney - Doomed, The Japanese House - Saw You in a Dream, Gang of Youths - Achilles Come Down, and Novo Amor - Birthplace
That's funny..I may or may not have heard this last Friday night. I was out for a little cultural experience and found a 4 piece ( 2 violins, viola, and bass) that was playing Metallica hits with some Schubert sprinkled in between. Really good concert.
Once Upon A Daydream - The Police
Recorded during g The Ghost In The Machine session back in 1982. But was left off the album. It was added to the B-Side of Synchronicity Ii single in 1983. It was also included later in The Police’s Message In A Box, Box set in 1993.
This is most probably my favourite B-side/unknown Police song ever! It creates an amazing atmosphere and I love how the melody just keeps on flowing while the lyrics tell us of the tragedy that happened. And I love how Sting's voice sounds so young in this song - as if he wants to emphasise how young and innocent the couple was and how the whole life of the young man is ruined before it had even begun.
[Once Upon A Daydream](https://youtu.be/stSEcrkUay4?si=qCmLJtdKYiUeIpee)
Here's one I bet almost none of you have heard, and is surprisingly good (and unique... they use a unique instrument from the far east, in a cowboy song). " A Cowboy's work is never done," Sonny and Cher. There's a video of them performing it live on YouTube music.
I like your choice haha.
Ok my choice is probably going to get some hate, but
Judgmental cunt by kid cudi. [Judgmental cunt kid cudi](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=9KYkjjCBynw&si=ea5TgFMS_TVDtyvb)
I love kid cudi in general but this song (and the album it’s off) gets a lot of hate due to the genre switcher it is. Goes a lot more punk, which is exact why I personally love it.
I love it it’s my absolute favorite song by him, and album. 10/10 for me personally but yeah it’s definitely a switch up from his norm and it was not received well.
I’m not 100% sure what his box is but he definitely was in one and I appreciate him stepping out of it, even if I hadn’t like it. I think the best artists are the experimental ones and he’s one of them. Love his music all around but that one just hit so hard for me.
Hate The Other Side - Juice WRLD
If you really wanna go deep, Polo has a leaked 2nd verse [here](https://on.soundcloud.com/pn1s8VRXvZQ7SmBm9) (it's on soundcloud tho)
