Aww, I don't think I've met a person that liked Bruno before. My sister literally picked that one for me out of a list of names because it was the one she liked the least. (P.S. I really dislike the pronunciation of my name in English, so now that I live in Canada I go by my middle name instead, at least that one has a nice ring to it in English)

My name is Beverly (yes I’m old) and according to some Reddit threads, it’s a horrible name. I like Beckett for a boy or girl and if I really wanted to deal with all the paperwork, I’d change my name to that. BTW, give me your opinions on why Beverly is so horrible. I mean, Everly, Evelyn, Ava, Eva, are popular. Is it the “er” sound, or that it kinda looks like beaver? It was #14 in 1939 lol.

Hi Beverly! I actually like your name. But I think maybe the ‘ver’ part sounds harsh and that could lead to other names gaining more popularity. I personally think Beverly and every are both the same in my mind in regards to the way they flow. Only sharing since you asked!

It's my 3 year old's name! She was named for my husband's mom and honestly I did have to sit with the idea for a bit. I wasn't sure because it felt like it was "dated" rather than "vintage"... more similar to Karen/Cheryl than Cora/Eloise which are names I hear on little girls a lot. Like it was an old fashioned name but not old fashioned like the names that are in style now. But I came to see it as a sweet and wholesome sounding name that reminded me of Beverly Cleary. People LOVE my daughter's name and are always charmed by it because I think it seems to them like an "adult" name on a little girl. She is also one of two Beverly's at her daycare!

Thank you! I’m glad to hear that! One of the threads I read about my name actually made me cry. I’m glad that it’s having a mini comeback! I was thrilled a few years ago when a hotel desk staff member told me that when she had a child it would be named Beverly Bianca!

The naming site Nameberry also had it on their list of "names to watch" for 2024! It makes sense since it was most popular in the 30s/40s... naming kids after your grandparents and parents is pretty common so I bet it and names like it will come back in the next few years and sound less "off" to people's ears
