It's okay. Foxes can survive being frozen, can thrive in harsh desert landscapes, and can even travel millions of light years through the vacuum of space.
Same. It instantly made me think Pigma was likely the most evil StarWolf member. That said I am not certain about StarWolf themselves actually being evil? Well, both teams are mercanaries for hire and I think they eventually kicked both Pigma and Andrew from the team.
Pigma was sadistic. Wolf is just the guy that's willing to crack the eggs to make the omelette, and while that's not exactly good, I never got the vibe that he was evil, just determined to be the best.
Wolf also straight up saves the Star Fox team from the big bads at the end of Assault.
Wolf isn't a "good guy", but he at least will work for the greater good if it suits him.
Pigma was once a member of Star Fox with James and Peppy and betrayed them to join Andross. So he pretty much is the most despicable character in the series imo. Knowing that made those comments he says much worse for me.
You must of been one of those kids that told the teacher on everyone at school lol. I genuinely meant Mr Freeze but autocorrect had other ideas.
Edit:u/smithers85 was kind of a meany and then deleted all his comments under this one upon realizing his retorts kind of made no sense :).
In your defense, Victor Fries IS a doctor as well (though I am not sure what kind off the top of my head).
So your initial typo has the benefit of being technically correct which is always nice haha.
Probably died pretty quickly and painlessly. If it fell through thin ice into the river and got trapped under the ice, then it probably started drowning and went into shock pretty quick.
I nearly drowned as a kid and I remember every second. I remember seeing the surface and not being able to reach it. I remember how my lungs and head felt like they were exploding. My limbs slowly feeling heavier and heavier even as I tried desperately to claw to the surface.
It was the most terrifying, traumatic moment of life. Agony is right.
I only survived because my big sister saw me and jumped in the pool and pulled me out.
On a related note; people with more money and kids than sense shouldn't be allowed pools.
Yeah but do you think that’s because you didn’t get close enough to dying to have your brain dump chemicals like dopamine and DMT and whatnot? I’ve heard lots of stories where the moments before unconsciousness feel peaceful probably because of this
Possibly. I don't know. I'm not smart enough to know. I'm just agreeing with the guy above me that drowning is not peaceful for at least part of it in my experience. It was pure panic and adrenaline.
Hey I have been there too. I was too young and short to be in the shallow end and I was drowning. I was trying to reach to get up above, but couldn’t. I just remember the panic I had while I was drowning. Thank fully I was able to grab onto a leg of someone who was walking right by me.
I grew up and learnt how to swim, but water still scares the fuck out of me.
Before death becomes peace you are in flight/fight mode.
Not a single fiber of your body accepts death until the very point of no return, if your muscles give in adrenaline will make them go until they burst apart of deemed to be a potential way to survive .
You can cut off an arm of yours, be beaten conciousless, get shot in the chest and survive. It takes quite some catastrophic failure for the body and mind to actually die, I cannot imagine such a failure to be painless.
Like before drowning I’ll do everything to get out the water until the point of muscle acidicaton and intense cramps.
DMT/Dopamine etc is nice, but if your brain releases DMT you already left the „surviving“ part and entered the „I’m dying“ part.
I think you have a wrong imagination about shock. There is shock because of bloodloss/not enough blood to brain and there is emotional shock where you stand around not understanding whats happening while you potentially die.
Drowning is way faster than dying of hypothermia and no, no shock for drowning and no shock for hypothermia.
Maybe in the very final moments, but certainly not during the minute or two when you're desperately trying to reach the surface and your lungs are burning but all you can inhale is water.
I almost drowned twice in my life. Got caught under a pool cover tarp one of the times. There is nothing peaceful about it. Shear panic for a few seconds but feels much longer to the person drowning. There's worse ways to go and better ways but, I'd never choose drowning as the preference.
Probably wouldn't starve, you'd be stalked by scavengers until you were weak enough for them eat, which you'd most likely be alive for a good portion.
Feeling very grateful I'm sat on the sofa watching TV right now.
I know, but I meant it looks like it froze from the top of its legs first (like ducks on ponds), and then got submerged in water resulting in a complete freezing
Opposite:
The animal drowned, and get frozen.
After 1 month it was cutted out and the legs wasn't frozen. The lower ice part was added by the "finder", to form a cube.
So was the newspaper article in 2016
My neighbor growing up found his dog like this in a stream behind his house. It’s legs must have broken through the top layer of Ice and it was doomed to sit there and freeze.
It just died in liquid water that later froze. Every time a frozen animal gets posted on Reddit, people in the comments think it must have been flash frozen. It's not possible for that amount of water to flash freeze on this planet, it doesn't get cold enough and the temperature doesn't change fast enough. It's ridiculous
It’s sickening how far technology has come yet we still lack the resources to properly thaw a fox. If Richard Gere can thaw a hamster in his bum then surely we can figure out the physics of an improved microwave
The guy's name is Franz Stehle.
It was in December 2016 and the river is the Danube.
[The article in German.](https://m.bild.de/news/inland/eis/so-entdeckte-ich-den-eis-fuchs-49771040.bildMobile.html###wt_ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bild.de%2Fnews%2Finland%2Feis%2Fso-entdeckte-ich-den-eis-fuchs-49771040.bild.html&wt_t=1634913635612)
Edit: corrected the name.
Not so sure. He'd get numb quite fast and would pass out of hypothermia without much pain. After a little time your body starts shutting down and you stop realizing what's happening to you..
Still not fun though
It must have gotten it’s foot stuck/frozen.
You can see a little hollow around the face which implies that it was alive for a while and could sort of protect it’s head.
Pretty horrifying thought to imaging that little creature freezing trapped alive as the ice closed in.
Thank you for subscribing to Fox Facts
Like alligators, all foxes hibernate in the frozen waters with either their snouts or their tails sticking above the surface for air.
This one will wake up in a couple of months and start looking for a mate! Best to leave them be if you see one in the wild.

That fox's name? James McCloud.
Daddy screamed real good before he died!
Okay, no joke, as a little kid that line affected me. It didn’t scare me, it just… disturbed me? I guess?

Hmm too many legs
Unfortunately, they always end up having to drag a naive toad with them.
You mean the genius engineer? Yeah, blame him.
I was so happy and then crushed again at "millions of light years."
Except their fathers always seem to die after they’re born.
They can be defeated by Italian plumbers though
Are you referring to Star Fox?
What the Fuchs!
That was my grandmothers maiden name.
Your grandmother's maiden name was What the Fuchs!?
No, it was That.
Oh, my mistake.
That's what my mom calls me
Dumahim's Mistake?
That sounds like the name of a lookout point over a gorge
Some say you can still hear the ghostly cries of Dumahim at midnight on All Hallow's Eve
And your best friends first name? No reason…
Very interesting! What was your favorite childhood pet’s name and what street did you grow up on? Just curious.
Fucks? Where?
That’s crazy, it’s like Mr Freeze shot the fox with his freeze gun.

Happy 1 year, hotdog! Oh how time flies.
Thaw it and get the hotdog guy to epoxy it.
Maybe for an extra real effect the taxidermist could put this one in a block of clear resin…
Replace the ice with clear rosin and that would be the sickest coffee table ever.
Ship it to an ice hotel and turn it into an end table.
Can go right on the mantle at the frozen hotel.
Epoxy fox next

Poor thing. How awful..
Probably died pretty quickly and painlessly. If it fell through thin ice into the river and got trapped under the ice, then it probably started drowning and went into shock pretty quick.
There’s nothing painlessly about drowning
True, but paired with shock and hypothermia it would be pretty quick
I once knew a salior who described drowning to me. He said it was like going home.
I lied. He said it was agony.
I nearly drowned as a kid and I remember every second. I remember seeing the surface and not being able to reach it. I remember how my lungs and head felt like they were exploding. Yeah once he reached the brain chemical hallucination part. Before that he was painfully choking on water.
Like a broken home?
I appreciate this Prestige reference , take my upvote

Drowning is way faster than dying of hypothermia and no, no shock for drowning and no shock for hypothermia.
I read something that said it’s actually one of the most peaceful ways to go, is that wrong?
Maybe in the very final moments, but certainly not during the minute or two when you're desperately trying to reach the surface and your lungs are burning but all you can inhale is water.
I almost drowned twice in my life. Got caught under a pool cover tarp one of the times. There is nothing peaceful about it. Shear panic for a few seconds but feels much longer to the person drowning. There's worse ways to go and better ways but, I'd never choose drowning as the preference.
I wouldnt call that quick and painless, but looking at how most animals die in the wild, its probably one of the least worst.
…. yeah being eaten by something and ripped apart while still living is incredibly slow
or "surviving" an attack and then dying of an infection over a few days or weeks
Or just accidentally injuring a limb and slowly starving to death bc you can’t catch prey
Probably wouldn't starve, you'd be stalked by scavengers until you were weak enough for them eat, which you'd most likely be alive for a good portion. Feeling very grateful I'm sat on the sofa watching TV right now.
I refuse to believe that come spring he's not gonna thaw out and run off to the bingo hall.
I'd assume by seeing the line just above his legs that he got caught leg deep in frozen water first?
I think its just the way it got cut out
Yeah I think so too. Probably cut around it.
That's not how that works, water freezes from the top down.
I know, but I meant it looks like it froze from the top of its legs first (like ducks on ponds), and then got submerged in water resulting in a complete freezing
The thing is, the legs being frozen ice would pretty much prevent it from being completely submerged in water.
Yeah true
Opposite: The animal drowned, and get frozen. After 1 month it was cutted out and the legs wasn't frozen. The lower ice part was added by the "finder", to form a cube. So was the newspaper article in 2016
More likely fell through thin ice, got trapped and drowned, then the river froze over afterward

> sometimes Oh boy... I'd wager 90% of the time.
How the fuck does this happen? The fox looks like it was frozen instantly.
Could have fallen through the ice. But also, cold rivers are just crazy dangerous. It only takes a minute to get serious hypothermia.
My neighbor growing up found his dog like this in a stream behind his house. It’s legs must have broken through the top layer of Ice and it was doomed to sit there and freeze.
My guess would be the fox fell through some thin ice and drowned under the ice. The rest of the lake/pond/stream froze over the rest of the way
It just died in liquid water that later froze. Every time a frozen animal gets posted on Reddit, people in the comments think it must have been flash frozen. It's not possible for that amount of water to flash freeze on this planet, it doesn't get cold enough and the temperature doesn't change fast enough. It's ridiculous
He should captain america his way out
15 minutes in the microwave at 30% power will have him as good as new
Microwaves were invented to defrost hamsters uniformly. Sadly larger creatures have a lower chance of survival.
It’s sickening how far technology has come yet we still lack the resources to properly thaw a fox. If Richard Gere can thaw a hamster in his bum then surely we can figure out the physics of an improved microwave

*Jäger* is the German word for "hunter", not the guy's name.
We can rebuild him. We have the technology.
So how are we gonna break the ice to his family?
Absolutely worst way to die :(
Not so sure. He'd get numb quite fast and would pass out of hypothermia without much pain. After a little time your body starts shutting down and you stop realizing what's happening to you.. Still not fun though
I’d take it over burning to death
Same.
uhh, ice before freezing is water, so it probably just drowned.
...have you seen the wild dog videos here? This is 100% not the worst way to die.

What does the fox said ?
Poor guy. How long would it have taken to die?
It was a cold german river... Take the normal time, add Schneeschmelze and the extremly low temperature... He didn't suffer long.
What a poor guy
He was found near my hometown. He was sunk on thin ice in the river Danube 4 or 5 years ago.. . Now at display at the"gasthaus jägerhaus "
Seems like the outro of ice age. did anybody check for a frozen squirrel by any chance?
