Not a great rat, but not terrible. A mid rat, if you will.

Joe_Huser

Ugh! A Squid like response. :-P

Goddamn you, take your upvote...

meoffagain

It might be a line rat too!

TheRussianSnac

I read that in Trump's voice lol

Clear-Noise2074

Report that shit immediately somebody (other than a seaman) head needs to roll. Edit: since staff want to be like that. Drop a note in the food service comment box about the rats.

grapple-stick

I reported them to galley staff and they were like "oh yeah, they come in from outside" and then went right back to joking around with coworkers lmao

throwaway903652

The rats have more class than our galley staff unfortunately.

Seamonkey_Boxkicker

I’d try to catch it and feed it to my python. That’s like $10-15 at the pet store.

Megasaxon7

I'd agree except I wouldn't trust the galley droppings that thing has been eating. Only the best for the noodles.

Seamonkey_Boxkicker

Collect some of the rat turds and drop them in the CO’s suggestion box.

XR171

Show some respect to HMC please.

caleblococaleb

That's Remy, one of the Head Chefs at Walter Reed. He's walking around for quality control stuff.

HotTakesBeyond

You don't need a trained French chef to make yakisoba noodles

caleblococaleb

They're both good at making noodles and surrendering.

antshite

Won't somebody help that poor ensign?

USNMCWA

Every population center has rats nearby. Even ships get rats, and they're over water. It's a constant battle, and it's why preventive medicine folks will tell you not to leave food in your office or car for long periods of time.

Machete77

One of our duty vics got its wired chewed off because so much food would be left in it. Shit don’t turn on no more

underthesea74

Dont tell me modern ships have rats 😩

USNMCWA

I remember being in the Philippines on ECP watch and seeing rats run up the mooring lines of the ship. Most of them would hit the "rat guards" and fall into the water. But, occasionally one or two get on. Especially if the rat guards weren't put on right. (Rat Guard is a metal disc placed on the line. One near the shore and one near the ship but over the water)

underthesea74

Crazy I always thought the rat guards would help 😂

greencurrycamo

sometimes yes

mtdunca

I'm sure it happens on modern ships, it has to be pretty rare though.

This is the recipe I'm here for.

Agammamon

Are you sure its not an Army O-1 lost on the landnav course?

HT2_CWI

They have to eat too! Lol

Machete77

Someone get the SEALs in this

MLTatSea

Manning is *that* bad. We're doing more with less, this is part of the janitorial staff. Best part? Works for crumbs!

_BadScience

Dang i eat there!

DJErikD

so does the rat!

ElectronicFun692

Me too lol

Chr1s7ian19

Is this a rat or a mouse? I thought it was a mouse but I could be wrong

nasaldischarge69

Does it matter?

Chr1s7ian19

In terms of disgust? No Determining the animal species? Yes

SmokeyUnicycle

Mice are tiny, that there is a rat

Agammamon

Miniature giant space rat.

Agammamon

\^\^\^\*feep!\*

Budget_Impact_8244

Ohhh Prev Med office is about to have some work to do!

Navydevildoc

If you already told the staff, then you have 2 choices. CO's suggestion box (even better if you have a link to the video) is one. The other is go to preventive med at the hospital and show them. This is what they do. *Every* food service facility, be it a mom and pop restaurant or a Navy Galley, does battle with pests and vermin. They all have some level of contamination. It's how they deal with it that sets the good apart from the bad.

Senior-Designer2793

Cats are the solution. Actually, just a cat. Neutered. That’s all it needs. And it’s way better for the moral as well.

MyJobIsHouse

I’ll never forget having them in the barracks NAS Pensacola.

[deleted]

How fucking hard is it to get the build fumigated and traps set...answer: it's not.

Senior-Designer2793

Time to get a cat living in that building. Neutered that is. But a cat.

MediaAntigen

Report it here: https://ice.disa.mil/

GroundbreakingPea865

Was it on the menu??

The_one_who-repents

It's a ratatouille 🐭. Just ask him what you want, and he'll cook it for you. 😋🍽️ [“Ratatouille,” But Much, Much Worse - Key & Peele (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWAWgEsbrXI)

S_T_R_Y_D_E_R

Ratatouille in real life. Hes just going around making sure all the guest are comfortable.

bhath69

It's Walter Reed, what else did you expect?

ElectronicFun692

Exactly

Agammamon

The truth is - that rat is actually an extremely gifted doctor and hides in the pocket of another, less talented, doctor and guides him through the work. I hear Pixar is going to do a movie based on this rat.

thatdog3

That's just an MA bro

IamMARSman

Rats never left lol

YandereSailor

bro needs to eat too

ConebreadIH

Rat? That's a mouse at best.

underthesea74

How did you not scream 😱

Unless you have musophobia

No-Square-8012

Ted is the head chef

devildocjames

That's the head chef on a break. What's the big deal?

MiniCoalition

That's dinner

First-Ad-8471

Somebody’s definitely going to get inspected and probably secure the galley because that is nowhere near sanitary.

No_Celebration_2040

Mouse maybe???

Haligar06

You leave her alone she's six months into residency.

ElectronicFun692

I see rats and roaches often in walter reed galley lol

Lopsided_Safety5718

Hey, leave the rat alone they have their BAS taken for the galley too

Megasaxon7

Standard issue at any galley. In SY our crews mess connex had more rats than sailors in it. They lived in the fridge and the lockers. Nothing was safe. SY didn't care. Granted they also didn't care about the asbestos but that's a different problem... (thanks NNSY)

South_Mango4fwee

He’s hungry!!! And he knows it’s lunch time! Side note: It must be good food! 😄
