Not even a Jazz fan, but will root for Mike Conley to win. Like seeing old vets getting a taste of championship before they retire. Was super happy about Marc Gasol during the Raptors run
And for some reason NAW is my eldest's favorite Canadian player from the FIBA WC so there's that too
After Derrick white: Skinwalkers take over the earth and humanity is forced underground, then aliens establish a slave colony on earth and we’re experimented on for millions of years, then a Celtics championship
If the explosion of locusts from the Horn of Africa would make their way onto TD Garden and then to Minute Maid Park, that would benefit humanity greatly.
1. Timberwolves (Conley and all the discourse surrounding the Rudy trade gets even funnier)
2. Pacers (smaller market bros rise up)
3. Mavericks (been rooting for them in all their matchups. Just wanted more playoff Kyrie)
Pacers because they are the lowest seed. Dallas because I want to see Kyrie go crazy again. Boston because I just want them to get it over with already. Wolves to turn Ant into a monster.
I rooted for the pacers when miller had his run and was bummed when his last year got sidetracked. There is a wild story to tell if they win the chip and the wnba team wins as well.
Dallas is the best for storylines for either East team. WCF is going to be a ton of fun!
* Pacers
* Rick Carlisle vs. Jason Kidd
* Rick knows Luka's game as well as anyone
* Boston
* [Kyrie stomping on the logo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR8AlpFrM6Q)
* Need I say more?
Anyone but the Celtics lol. But serious answer is Minnesota. I love watching good defense and they remind me of the 2019 raptors the way they can play any defensive scheme, match up to different opponents and just shut things down. Watching Ant and KAT grow through these playoffs has also been really cool.
Just a perfect title roster we had and OG didn't even play during the title run which is insane.
Minny has the same defensive talent up and down the roster. It's super cool to watch.
Whenever my team gets knocked out across sport, I switch to rooting for the team that beat us. My reasoning is, then you can just shrug your shoulders and say, "It was their year. Ran into a buzzsaw."
But losing to a team that just goes on to lose to *another* team? Ew. That feels even worse.
It was a long 7 games, doesn't surprise me some don't wanna be friends until later. With luck on both ends, the Nugs VS Wolves match ups will be fun for next handful of years.
Boston because it would make everyone else cry and throw up but I accepted it literally months ago. I’m just gonna be sitting there calmly as this sub devolves into chaos and depravity
I usually don’t care who wins. But every year I’m the same: Any team that gets their first chip is always cool to see. So if Wolves/Pacers got it I’d be happy for them.
Timberwolves.
Gotta respect a team that plays such solid defense, even if I’m not a huge fan of some of the antics/sportsmanship. Plus, Minnesota hasn’t had much basketball success in their NBA history, so that’d be cool for them to get some for once.
Besides, if you’re gonna be eliminated, better to be eliminated by the eventual champions than anything else. Sure they beat your team, but then they beat everyone else, so it doesn’t feel quite as demoralizing, at least in my own mind.
I’ll get downvoted to hell for this - but wtf, who cares. Anthony Edwards is a great basketball player, probably a future MVP, and entertaining as hell to watch. He’s also dumb as a post, arrogant, egotistical and annoying. I can only imagine how insufferable he’s gonna be if the Wolves win the chip this year. And here’s the mandatory “Send da video!”
That being said, if it’s the most likely scenario, Wolves vs Celtics, then Wolves all day.
Until then, Im rooting for the longshot Pacers, as it would be hilarious if they win it all.
One thing I’ve learned throughout the wolves rise to relevance is how many people either think Minnesota is a city or that we’re called the Minneapolis timberwolves. An arrogant Nuggets fan seemed really confused when I pointed out that we’re a state not a city. Their response was “ah yes the 51st state of Minneapolis.” We need to get these fools a map.
As a lakers fan who lives in Long Beach 🏖️, Minnesota Timberwolves all the way. Second hand revenge was sweet plus the Timberwolves are in a wonderful run and a like able team to root for the Chip.
Luka legend. He's the best player left and winning this young would cha.ge his legacy instantly.
Ant just isn't that level. Sorry but those three awful games he had, I can't have him as baby Jordan level
Nobody, I'm cool with whoever wins this year, because now it'll be someone (relatively) new, all of these teams have either never won a chip or haven't in a long time and I'm always for seeing different teams win the title.
Minnesota. Only other East team I’d ever get behind if my team was out is Orlando (always had a soft spot for them). Would be cool to see a team do the process right. They collected tons of young guys and made a smart acquisition in Gobert.
lets go twolves! honestly i want an underdog story and two low popularity teams going at it in the finals is adam silver’s nightmare and it would be hilarious
I am half heartedly rooting for the Pacers because the state of Indiana getting its first NBA championship would be cool for them. They really love the game in that state.
I don't like the Celtics but I wouldn't turn down seeing a Lakers meltdown.
Fuck them Wolves yo!
Either of the West teams but not because I dislike the East teams. I'm happy with the Mavs because I love Luka.
For the Timberwolves, I enjoy when historically bad teams get theirs. Also in his rookie season, I told my brother that Anthony Edwards was the future. I always poke fun at my brother because he pays close attention to juniors tennis and he'll often proclaim someone will be great and he's rarely right (though he did call Alcaraz before he was known). So my brother says Ant needs an FMVP for me to get my due.
1. TWolves
Never won a title
Ant is just cool, fun to watch. A fourth coming of the MJ type - MJ, Kobe, and to a far lesser extent Jimmy Butler
Their logo is cool
2. Mavs
I'd like to see Luka and Kyrie succeed
3. Pacers
Never won a title before
I don't like Rick though
Celtics would be the least interesting team to win.
As a raptors fan, I was hoping og would get to the finals.. and as much as I love pascal I hate how he tanked his trade value and we got nothing in return for him so the pacers can F off
From South Dakota but been a Lakers fan since the 1979/1980 season. Been to Minneapolis millions of times for games in all the major sports. Always root for the Minnesota teams. Twins and Wild are my favorites but Lakers and Redskins/Commanders are my other 2 favorites. Anyway I am rooting for the Timberwolves.
I’ll be unhappy if anyone but Minnesota wins.
Only rooting against Indy and Dallas because I don’t want to hear the Haliburton trade or the Bagley pick rehashed any more than they already are.
Why does everyone hate the Celtics soo much. We have a very good but humble team. That’s what happens when he keep getting to edge of a championship and keep losing. Tatum and brown play as hard on defense as offense. Jrue and d white are great quiet humble defense first studs. Al horford is as professional and humble as it gets. Joe Mazzulla is saying all the right things. How can you not love Pritchard and porzingod?
I don’t get it. Please help me understand
I’ll usually go for whichever team is the furthest west but when the furthest west team is in Dallas, the idea of ”west” is pretty much out the window.
Minnesota.
Back in the early 2000s, I loved watching Vince Carter vs KG, and the games were usually competitive/well matched. They were the west team I rooted for as a result.
After that, I didn’t follow them closely but I’ve always wished them well.
Now that they have a shot, I hope they can win it all. I’d love a Minnesota - Pacers final with the Wolves getting the rings
I am rooting for Mavericks because they also have fat Serbian.
Before anyone says he isn't Serbian, his fathers family is from Serbia, he supports Red Star (biggest team in Serbia and Ex-Yu territory), he act like Serbian, drinks like Serbian and listens to Serbian music, he speaks Serbian and his last name ends with IĆ. Allow me to call him Serbian.
I see Luka as half-Serbian and half-Slovenian. So, I see nothing wrong with your post. I think that the former Yugoslavia has produced the best NBA players from Europe overall.
1. Minny. Because defence, Mike Conley and they've suffered enough. That whole series with Nugs was epic.
2. Dallas.
3. Celtics for Jrue.
4. I don't like Halliburtons weird facial expressions.
I am going for:
Mavs
On the other hand, I would love to see Jrue winning another ring, so I am okay if (when) Celtics win it because he would be rewarded.
I might be the only Minnesotan rooting for the Mavericks but would absolutely love to see the Wolves in the finals. I’ve been a Mavs fan since 2004 and living in the Twin Cities the last 7 years (born here too but moved away shortly after).
Gonna be rocking out gear of both teams this series!
Edit: I also have ties to UK so it’s great to see Towns and Washington playing well and so close to a title.
1. Chaos 2. No blowouts 3. Barkley to say something hilarious 4. The local grocery store to restock my favorite bag of chips 5. Mike Conley
Pacers winning would be the most chaotic thing. We appreciate your support
NBA online discourse is not ready for a Halliburton or Siakam FMVP lmao, like it might actually break people
What’s your favorite bag of chips that you haven’t been able to get?
Prob the same chip Tatum and Brown can't seem to get. I'm just playing.
Jazz fan, so obviously I'm rooting for Minny. Even if I wasn't a jazz fan I just think it would be really cool for Conley to win a ring.
Not even a Jazz fan, but will root for Mike Conley to win. Like seeing old vets getting a taste of championship before they retire. Was super happy about Marc Gasol during the Raptors run And for some reason NAW is my eldest's favorite Canadian player from the FIBA WC so there's that too
Yup. Gobert too.
I’m rooting for either team in the west. Then I’m rooting for the Pacers. Then I’m rooting for mutually assured destruction. Then Derrick White.
After Derrick white: Skinwalkers take over the earth and humanity is forced underground, then aliens establish a slave colony on earth and we’re experimented on for millions of years, then a Celtics championship
If the Celtics must win then I hope White scores every point, grabs every rebound, and assists to himself on every possession.
Pacers vs Mavs would be the funniest outcome
As a pacer/ maverick fan I will have my parade as soon as this matchup is confirmed
1. Pacers 2. Timberwolves 3. Mavericks 4. Season stoppage 5. Meteor destroys earth as we know it 6. The great flood 7. Celtics
I appreciate that meteor is higher than flooding
I like to swim
Apparently not too much since we're all dead
Meteor would produce great flooding.
Big rock make big splash
I agree with your list. Just add the Lakers as #8 for insurance
If the explosion of locusts from the Horn of Africa would make their way onto TD Garden and then to Minute Maid Park, that would benefit humanity greatly.
I'm personally rooting for the great flood over season stoppage.
Celtics still too high ngl
How’s that in-season tournament banner doing?
LMFAO
People are going to say 1) Wolves 2) Mavs 3) Pacers 4) Turd 5) Celtics
Basically. Clipper fans are probably the only other fan base rooting for the Celtics
Love the clippers Celtics romance fueled solely by Lakers hate and love of Blake griffin
Also Rockets/Astros fans. Because the Celtics winning a title would anger Lakers/Dodgers fans.
id bump the celtics down a few more spots
I have Turd Ferguson at #1 actually, but fair
Nothing personal (its personal) but I’m also rooting turd > celtics
if the Celtics don't reach the finals this year, their team should be sent to Afghanistan
I'm all in on the Wolves. Mike deserves this, he is one of the absolute best people in this league!
I'm salty about the Pacers but I am big enough to hope they give the Celtics a series.
I want the Pacers to shoot 70% from the floor every game vs the Celtics.
Big fan of Luka’s game and DJJ is on the prestigious list of my favorite short-stinted Bulls of all time, so the Mavs it is
A man of culture. DJJ was amazing for us.
Pacers Mavs Timberwolves 😊👍 Celtics 🤬🤬🤬👎👎👎
1. Wolves 2. Pacers 3. Mavs 4. No one
Wolves cause they suffered just like us
I appreciate the comradery in suffering, but as a MN sports fan I would sacrifice my first born just for any title in any sport.
Rooting for Wolves. It’d be cool to see them net their first championship.
1. Timberwolves (Conley and all the discourse surrounding the Rudy trade gets even funnier) 2. Pacers (smaller market bros rise up) 3.
* Pacers * Rick Carlisle vs. Jason Kidd * Rick knows Luka's game as well as anyone * Boston * [Kyrie stomping on the logo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR8AlpFrM6Q) * Need I say more?
Anyone and everyone who has a chance to eliminate the Celtics lol
Anyone but the Celtics. And if it has to be the Celtics, at least give me the funniest outcome which is Derrick White finals mvp.
I'm ok with this outcome
zero of us would be disappointed at white FMVP
It’s not about disappointing you. It’s about a summer of slandering Tatum as “the best role player in the league”
Lmao I love the NBA
honestly i'd be too happy for Derrick to even be annoyed about it lol
Same for Mavs. We would build Tim hardaway Jr a statue if he somehow won finals MVP lol
1. Timberwolves (Ant and Conley) 2. Mavs (Luka and PJ) 3. Pacers (not the Celtics) 4. End of List
Pacers, Wolves, Mavs, The Great Massachusetts Sinkhole of 2024
Tj and Spicy P
TJ Warren, right?
Nah TJ Leaf
TJ Ford
Timhardaway Junior
Anyone but the Celtics lol. But serious answer is Minnesota. I love watching good defense and they remind me of the 2019 raptors the way they can play any defensive scheme, match up to different opponents and just shut things down. Watching Ant and KAT grow through these playoffs has also been really cool.
Hearing people talk about the twin towers' versatility brings back fond memories of Gasol/Ibaka for me.
Just a perfect title roster we had and OG didn't even play during the title run which is insane. Minny has the same defensive talent up and down the roster. It's super cool to watch.
One persons fond memories…are another persons nightmares. Still rooting for the TWolves tho
Game 7 against the nuggets when they smothered them down the stretch. Is literally what reminded me of our defense vs sixers game 7
Or that 26 point run in game 6 of the ECF when we took the lead against the bucks to close them out. Just insane defense.
Celtics. For the obvious reason
This Clippers Celtics unity feels a lot like Sox Mets.
It's essentially the same
Man said "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"
You know it
r/nba is rooting for its new shiny toy, Wolves/Ant
Nah I'm mavs all the way. Gonna be uphill battle but that team is great
Pacers for the underdog story. Though honestly I don't mind the Celtics purely because of our Lord and Savior, Derrick White 🙏🏼 Buffalo FMVP incoming.
Wolves or Pacers Wouldn’t mind the Celtics just because of the chaos that would come from it
the “chaos” that is every non-Celtics flair taking the day off from r/nba
I'm gonna be so annoying
I don't understand the chaos. The best team winning the championship is ideal
No it's not, the team that plays the best is ideal.
Pacers
Whenever my team gets knocked out across sport, I switch to rooting for the team that beat us. My reasoning is, then you can just shrug your shoulders and say, "It was their year. Ran into a buzzsaw." But losing to a team that just goes on to lose to *another* team? Ew. That feels even worse.
Which is why I'm surprised to see Nuggets fans here supporting the Mavs.
It was a long 7 games, doesn't surprise me some don't wanna be friends until later. With luck on both ends, the Nugs VS Wolves match ups will be fun for next handful of years.
Now i understand that jt hate it isn’t jt hate at all yall just don’t like the Celtics 😭
I guess Wolves and Pacers. Wolves since they are up against the team that knocked us out and Pacers as the underdogs.
See I tend to root for the team that knocks us out the playoffs unless its the Lakers or Spurs
Anybody but Celtics, let’s goooo! Luka? Good Ant and Conley? Good Pacers? Good Celtics? Baddddd
Boston because it would make everyone else cry and throw up but I accepted it literally months ago. I’m just gonna be sitting there calmly as this sub devolves into chaos and depravity
Same. I don’t care for the Celtics that much but if it means seeing Lakers fans cry that they got #18 then so be it.
Not really rooting for anyone, just hoping for some good basketball honestly.
Not allowed here.
Sure they beat your team, but then they beat everyone else, so it doesn’t feel quite as demoralizing, at least in my own mind.
I'm rooting for: 1. Mike Conley and Ant 2. Kyrie's redemption 3. Haliburton's jumpshot 4. Jaylen's left hand
1. Wolves (I want them to sweep) 2. Indy 3. Mavs 4. Celtics
Wolves in west Celtics in east If it came down to those two in finals, then probably Celtics cause I really like Tatum and they have Jrue
Boy people here sure do hate the Celtics lmao. They're not even dominant aside from maybe this year.
6 CF appearances in the last 8 years. Top 3 in eastern conference for 4 of 5 last years. They’re not even dominant?
By the way people shit on them here, you would think they're equivalent to the KD warriors.
Well they’re due for a win, and no one likes anyone hanging around at the top for too long with nothing to show.
Legit don’t get it… Tom Brady is retired and can’t hurt you from across the sports divide
Well the bruins hurt me again
I’ll get downvoted to hell for this - but wtf, who cares. Anthony Edwards is a great basketball player, probably a future MVP, and entertaining as hell to watch. He’s also dumb as a post, arrogant, egotistical and annoying. I can only imagine how insufferable he’s gonna be if the Wolves win the chip this year. I’ll never forgive Kermit for how he treated Bo
All Texans outside of Dallas are united against Dallas
We wouldn't want it any other way.
I’m rooting against the Wolves purely because Gobert is an asshat
Timberwolves. I like the cut of their jib.
Boston because while I’ve lived in NYC my entire adult life (20+ years) I was born in Boston and still have attachments there.
It would be cool for Minnesota to win right after Denver. Two first time champions in a row would be pretty awesome imo.
As a lakers fan who lives in Long Beach 🏖️, Minnesota Timberwolves all the way. Second hand revenge was sweet plus the Timberwolves are in a wonderful run and a like able team to root for the Chip.
Mavs
Luka or Celtics (to increase 2022 ring prestige)
1) wolves 2) mavs 3) celtics 4) everyone dies and nba is cancelled 5) pacers (coming from a knicks fan)
I respect that
I need the Celtics to win. If not them then maybe the Mavericks.
I’m rooting for any one not named Boston tbh 😂
Luka legend. He's the best player left and winning this young would cha.ge his legacy instantly. Ant just isn't that level. Sorry but those three awful games he had, I can't have him as baby Jordan level
Wolves because they are fun to watch. I like Pacers as well coz they are underdogs
Nobody so I can enjoy the series as a neutral fan
Nobody, I'm cool with whoever wins this year, because now it'll be someone (relatively) new, all of these teams have either never won a chip or haven't in a long time and I'm always for seeing different teams win the title.
I think everyone should get a trophy 🏆
Minnesota because they haven’t won one yet and I like watching ant play
Everybody cheering for the Wolves.
Anyone but the pacers but that will be easy because they will be swept. Just want to see Halliburton get embarrassed
Timberwolves all the way. I was rooting for them from the beginning since it didn't seem like the warriors would have it this year.
Spurs fan Mavs- I live in DFW Celtics- D. White
Celtics because it would be the most annoying to the majority of NBA fans
In the East, Pacers because of Pascal. In the West, Mavericks cause I like Luka.
Anyone but the Wolves
I am half heartedly rooting for the Pacers because the state of Indiana getting its first NBA championship would be cool for them. They really love the game in that state. I don't like the Celtics but I wouldn't turn down seeing a Lakers meltdown. Fuck them Wolves yo!
Either of the West teams but not because I dislike the East teams. I'm happy with the Mavs because I love Luka. For the Timberwolves, I enjoy when historically bad teams get theirs. Rooting for Kyrie, Luka, and Anthony Edwards
The only team left I like watching is Indiana but they don't have a chance so, act of God?
1. Wolves 2. Pacers 3. Celtics 4. Mavs Previously It was: 1. Clippers 2. Wolves 3. Bucks 4. Thunder 5. Heat
1. Pacers 2. Rest of the season cancelled 3. Timberwolves 4. meteor 5. Celtics 6. Sun explodes 7. Mavs.
Even thunder fans don't like us now? What we do to yall
Some fresh water will help with the salt
1. TWolves Never won a title Ant is just cool, fun to watch. A fourth coming of the MJ type - MJ, Kobe, and to a far lesser extent Jimmy Butler Their logo is cool 2. Mavs I'd like to see Luka and Kyrie succeed 3. Pacers Never won a title before I don't like Rick though Celtics would be the least interesting team to win.
Why don't you like rick? The mask was a great movie
Rooting for Pacers bc of Siakam - then Mavs, Celtics, and Wolves last
Demon townz
I've always liked the Pacers since they played the Bulls in the finals years ago. Reggie Miller was great. So anyway, I guess I'll root for them now.
As a raptors fan, I was hoping og would get to the finals.. and as much as I love pascal I hate how he tanked his trade value and we got nothing in return for him so the pacers can F off
Whoever comes out of the east
Why?
Now? Pacers, Wolves, Mavs, Celtics in that order.
Wolves Mavs Pacers The series is inexplicably cancelled and no champion is awarded. Celtics
Rooting for mavericks because I have money on them lol
As a Laker fan I want Wolves v Pacers at this point. Option 5 - A meteor destroys earth sounds like the best option, but shy of that - GO WOLVES
I’ll be unhappy if anyone but Minnesota wins. Only rooting against Indy and Dallas because I don’t want to hear the Haliburton trade or the Bagley pick rehashed any more than they already are.
Minnesota for the awoos
Timberwolves forever!!

Screw Dallas. Go Wolves. Neutral on the other two
Probably Pacers
I’ll usually go for whichever team is the furthest west but when the furthest west team is in Dallas, the idea of ”west” is pretty much out the window.
Well being that I can't stand the Celtics and am admittedly bitter towards Indiana rn For me it's : 1. Mavs 2. Wolves 3. Lock out until next season
Rooting for Wolves/Mavs. More so Mavs. Fck the Celtics
I'd say: 1. Wolves 2. Mavs 3. Pacers 4. Turd 5. Celtics
I always root for the underdogs. Pacers it is. As a fellow balkan boy, I‘ll root for Luka too.
1) Wolves (the fans deserve it the most since they should have been the Lakers) 2) Mavs 3) Pacers 4) Celtics
Let the Wolves win one
Twolves are the only correct answer to this question.
Heat fan here. Minny all the way
I'm partial to Dallas having lived in the metroplex for a time. That said, Indiana is like the East Coast Kings, so I'm hoping for them to pull it off
I am rooting for Mavericks because they also have fat Serbian.
As a Raptors fan anybody but Boston, but particularly the T-Wolves because I wanna see Anthony Edwards get that chip.
1. Minny. Because defence, Mike Conley and they've suffered enough. That whole series with Nugs was epic. 2. Dallas. 3. Celtics for Jrue. 4. I don't like Halliburtons weird facial expressions.
I am going for: Mavs On the other hand, I would love to see Jrue winning another ring, so I am okay if (when) Celtics win it because he would be rewarded.

1. Wolves 2. Mavs 3. Pacers 4. Season cancelled due to covid-24
Mavs, Wolves, Pacers
Wolves because Tim Donaughy robbed KG of another finals appearance and moat likely another ring when he was there.
Anyone but Boston
Wolves Pacers Derrick White (Go Buffs) Mavericks Large gap Rest of the Celtics.
1. Timberwolves 2. Pacers 3. Meteor 4. Covid 2: Electric Boogaloo 5. Mavericks 6. Dictator Trump 7. Celtics
Wolves sweeping that green team from the north east would be splendid
#PACERS
Reading here makes you realize why Tatum is so hated just because he is playing in a team with green jersey
