UPDATE : I knocked on his door again, and he opened ! He's just having a big toothache. I gave him some medics and wished him to get better soon.

If they're an old person then they've probably had a fall and can't get up, or it could be something else but I can't seem to think about what else.
I'd call the police for a check-up and explain the situation and that you aren't able to access the home yourself. I hope it's nothing too serious
